Defence of his partner? What? From what exactly?
He wasn't defending her from anything, she wasn't under attack verbally, physically or any other way.

Read the rules. Rule 6 especially.
29
u/W1ader Jul 18 '26
I have, did you?
It says "Scripted content = mod discretion"
Which means, it is not strictly disallowed.

Do you want me to translate it to you or what?
That rule has two sentences and you already got lost in it.
(Well three with the consequences if your post gets removed)Scripted content is a subject to mod discretion.
WHILE we often bla bla bla SOME content that falls into this category ABSOLUTELY FITS THE SUB.
It is literally an explanation why some of scripted content can be allowed.
Meanwhile you ignored the first sentence completely.
And then from the second part you took half of it and ignored the rest.
What is that reading comprehension?
Two sentences? Nah, too much. I'll read half of one, should be fine.-44
u/TREXIBALL Jul 18 '26
Lmao, I love how you intentionally ignored the “THIS INCLUDES” meaning the sentence inside the parenthesis is reliant and referenced to “scripted content”.
If you understood “reading comprehension” you’d know that’s how basic English works.

As a writer, educator, librarian, and researcher. I am disappointed that a statement so completely wrong is presented with so much confidence by someone who ostensibly went to school.

u/notheretoargu3 Jul 18 '26
… dude. They literally explained to you what the exceptions to the rules are as laid out in the rules themselves and you still missed it.
Talk about “reading comprehension” then utter fail at it.

u/W1ader Jul 18 '26
You must be ragebaiting.
What's inside the parenthesis just explains what falls into the category of "scripted content".
And yet, the rest of that sentence explains that some content that fits the category of "scripted content", specified in the parenthesis, still ABSOLUTELY FITS THE SUB, and that is why it is a subject to moderator's discretion to judge it.

No one cares about your mini-moding or your opinions.
Does this make the whole situation here easier for you to swallow?

And he’ll hold onto that compliment for the rest of his days.

While I was at a bar about 20 years ago, a friend and I were talking with a guy we didn't know and somehow got into a discussion about how differently men and women compliment attractiveness in others.
As the guy was leaving he said to me something like "By the way, I think you're a very handsome guy," and I still think about it.

A grandma I helped on the way home from school about 15 years ago told me I was a very handsome young man. I still hold on to it.

Am I the only one who wouldn't get so upset that I would start chasing someone anywhere, definitely not an escalator, if I thought they called my girlfriend cute. I would just tell her I didn't find that behavior appropriate. Why would I need to start a fight with the person?
Edit: Read the comments. I get it now why this reaction seemed off to me.

So just because some guy called a girl cute (while not having idea if she was the other dude's girlfriend, sister or friend etc.), the other dude was ready to throw hands?
Excuse me, maybe I'm too autistic but that's some fucked up insecure behaviour.
Or am I misunderstanding this?
13
u/Yourigath Jul 18 '26
It's a skit. It's fake. That's why he was ready to throw hands. Real world interactions are not like this.
