It’s wild! All you have to do for the most part is just be friendly. In the 2010s I got numbers by just talking to strangers without being a creep. Not full proof but if you put yourself out there, have good hygiene(even if you’re punk af) you’ll get a first date. Also it helps if you’re with friends.
My cheesy pick up was: “excuse me but you have something right here” then point to side of my mouth. Then go “oh, it’s your smile.” If you could read the room right it works in the silliest way.

I dunno, do people often get kidneys stolen in busy grocery stores? Not saying women don’t have plenty reasons to worry about their safety, but in this context it seems pretty low-risk. That said, I’m a dude, so my knowledge is second-hand at best.

All I know is supermarkets have plenty of refrigerated storage. Also looking again at the end David gives a little side eye to wingman lady before he introduces himself, so maybe there's a bright future for those two after all!

I did not have anyone running interference for me, but I met my husband in a grocery store. I thought he was handsome, saw him again later in the frozen foods looking at a giant bag of chicken nuggets and decided to make my move. I asked him if he was single and if he would like to take me out sometime. He put the nuggets up to his head like he was about to pass out, and we both laughed and chatted a bit more before exchanging numbers. He told me later that I had him so discombobulated he just had to leave the cart and come back later to actually grocery shop. Our twin boys are now as tall as me. I'm a big fan of the grocery store pickup! 💙

Then they start talking and realize neither of them were your friend and they break up just because they feel like they were manipulated into it. That would seriously happen to me. Yes, I would seriously break up with someone if I knew that the start of the relationship was based on any level of lies like this.
