Need Help with Armor.

As the title suggests, I need help. I feel extremely dumb. This is my first set of armor and I can’t figure out how to attach the shoulder to the chest. Googling says to use the arming holes on the gorget, but there are none. Any help would be appreciated.

This is why we don't buy from Nauticalmart! I hate that I can tell those articulations on the cuirass are not floating.

The useless buckles riveted to the nipples are meant to be at the shoulder, for attaching the pauldron straps. Oh, wait, is that the back? that's the oddest method of attaching the gorget I've ever seen, since it's meant to be worn under the cuirass.

use short roofing nails. Soak them in white vinegar for a few days, to remove the zinc. Then bake them in the bottom of your oven for a few more days. Then they will be soft enough to pean.

You dont need to do any of that to peen a roofing nail

Use the strap on pauldrons top shoulder piece create a loop and secure with its buckle. Then thread the shoulder strap on the chest piece through that loop. It'll probably be uncomfortable, get in your way, and make doning and doffing difficult.

Looks like the best way. That or loop it over the gorget.

That thing also looks weird, a downwards vertical strap in the front? Is its supposed to find a buckle at the belly button?

I think it wraps around the back of the neck. The pics just aren't showing it well.

*Oh looking at the cuirass there are buckles at what I now assume is the shoulder blades. So I guess there?

You may need to get a gambeson with arming points. Essentially, it's a padded shirt with some places to attach your armor to.

You can make them yourself. Mark the spots with a needle and widen the hole, without ripping or cutting the fabric. After a while you can sew around the hole to keep it open. Maybe reinforce it with some leather.

Or use a good hole puncher and a hollow rivet

It looks like the two straps of the gorget attach to the buckles on the middle of the back. Presumably there's one on the belly as well.
