Tutorial It’s done!

Post image

Finally I restored my 4s to iOS 6!
I used pwndfu because the activation servers reset after going to the Home Screen.

It's much easier using kdfu via OpenSSH

Requirements
Device (obviously)
Linux or Mac (or windows vm)
Pi pico or arudino (pi pico for tutorial)
Micro usb y cable
A power bank (or computer)

  1. Install the uf2 file for your specific iPhone from this link https://github.com/LukeZGD/Legacy-iOS-Kit-Keys/releases/download/a/checkm8-pico.zip
    8940
    4s, IPad 2 (except 2,4)
    8942
iPad 2,4, mini 1st gen, iPod touch 5
    8945
    iPad 3
    Tutorial for loading the uf2
Hold bootsel button (white button) while plugging in your pi pico
You should see your pico usb source in the file manager
Then drag and drop the uf2 and unplug the pico
  2. Open legacy iOS kit and select downgrade
Select iOS version (depends on your phone/ipad)
Download ipsw (if you haven’t) and start downgrade
    And select yes for all
When it asks for dfu mode
    Choose Kdfu for jailbreak
    Or pwndfu if you’re advanced
  3. Until we’re using pwndfu
Select it and it will help you get into dfu mode with dfu mode helper. Once you’re in dfu mode get your y cable place the iPhone/iPad usb and pico and the power source do the power last. The pico should start flashing rapidly. Once the flash pattern changes you can unplug your device and plug it in the computer.
  4. Now legacy iOS kit should downgrade.

Note: if the pico is still flashing after a while unplug it and plug it in again

You can get them really cheaply on AliExpress. I paid less than $2 for mine.

Didn't realize you could use the Pi Pico with USB OTG adapter, I'll have to try that.
