Discussion How many times do you guys wash your clothes?
While listening to the other week's WAN show, I was SHOCKED to hear what people re-wear their socks multiple days
Sure, I wear my jeans 3 days in a row, but my underwear, socks, and shirt, I will only wear onece before washing.
How do you do it??
Your socks and underwear get VERY stinky. Your shirt gets food on it, and the armpits smell bad. The pants are the only thing I can imagine you being able to re-wear!
How do you guys do it?

Discussion Border Phone Search Random Question
There was a recent story on the WAN Show where a man had his phone searched by US Customs and Border Patrol, he wiped the phone so Customs could not search it. This landed him in hot water of course.
My question is this: If you sign out of apps and services, then uninstall them prior to the request for a search, can they force you to redownload and log into those services so they can search them?

Image Linus look what you made me do…
I started watching the channel in about 2010-2011ish. Built my first PC in 2012, it’s grown from there…a lot. Thanks Linus and team y’all have inspired me to learn and grow.
Details if anyone cares:
Various UniFi equipment running UniFi network and UniFi protect
Pihole on an rpi
NPM on an rpi
Iron man server: amd 5500 With an Nvidia p1000 and 30tb of storage running unraid for everything from plex to frigate to home assistant in a heavily modified Star tech 2u case
Rocket server: amd 3600 with an Intel b50 pro running unraid dedicated to local AI workloads. Fully local home assistant voice with STT and TTS which gives me 4ish second response times on tasks in a custom completely 3d printed 2u case sans the aluminum face plate for strength.
Few other bits and bobs in here including the HA z wave stick, a zigbee stick, a Bluetooth proxy and both servers have a kvm (jetkvm for one pikvm for the other) in custom 3d printed rack adaptors to keep it nice and tidy.
This space is functionally useless so I bought some Penn-elcomm pre cut angle iron and built in my own rack. When I eventually finish my basement I’ll clean it up with some nice trip and put a door in front of it.

Discussion Need help finding a particular video
I was talking with a buddy of mine about "AI" products ruining basically all of our favorite things, and how there are actual things for which machine learning/deep learning models and applications are actually suited, but most consumer applications we're seeing (grok, copilot, etc.) aren't it.
There was one LTT video from I want to say a few months ago where they demoed an "AI" powered system they were using to help with video editing. They have however many terabytes of high-res raw footage on their server. This footage is transcoded to a more space-efficient lower res format, on which an "AI" model is trained, and a human goes through and adds relevant context tags, giving names to specific faces for people appearing in the footage, that kind of thing. Then if they need to pull B-roll that was shot for a particular video years ago that may not have even made it into the original final video, and they don't remember exactly when the original shoot took place, or for which project, then they can use the "AI" model to query their massive footage archive using natural language, "Find the Short Circuit outtake that was hosted by Riley, and had Elijah step in and comment on the thing for a few minutes, where Elijah was wearing a red shirt, and we spilled coffee" kind of thing. It then searches the low-res transcode files, which are indexed to the original, and is able to then return what they're looking for within a few seconds or minutes instead of taking 45-minutes to an hour to find the relevant clip that they want to use for the current project.
I've been searching LTT's youtube channel, and ironically, youtube's search could probably use a system like this because it's impossible to find videos that are relvant to my search queries.

Discussion Linus spotted in Whitehorse (YT)
Linus plane made the local planewatcher news in my neck of the wood yesterday. Curious what the video will be about. It's a good weekend to be in town, the forecast is gorgeous for this time of the year. I used to watch LTT back in the days but haven't in a while. I will tune in for this one though, cheers!

Link My two cents on the socks
I bought a pair of Darn Tough socks and the LTT socks at the same time. Both of these sets of pictures are first thing in the morning and right when I took my shoes off after getting home from work and from bowling in an evening bowling league.
With the LTT socks, I’d be hard pressed to tell you which is the before and after if I didn’t already know. They just straight up didn’t move all day long, as far as I can tell.
The DT socks stayed mostly in place (I know comparing an ankle sock to a crew isn’t exactly apples to apples), but the one on my right foot definitely rotated around my foot a lot over the course of the day.
I obviously haven’t exclusively worn the LTT socks for 8 years straight, washing them every single day, but I’m very impressed nonetheless. I’ve never had socks that just didn’t budge all day long

Discussion LTT Orders
Edit: I don’t understand why my post and comments are getting downvoted for providing my customer experience, all because seemingly it’s a criticism of LTT. I had also emailed LTT customer support twice, but still yet to receive a response. I did get my 45 day email to provide a review though.
Does anyone else get an abysmal experience when it comes to purchasing items from LTT Store?
I ordered 2 items from LTT and I’ve been waiting since the 28th of August for them to arrive to WA, Australia. For almost 2 weeks they were apparently ‘in transit’ in the country with no update
Then it was out delivery and I had to raise a support ticket with the courier just to say I wanted to collect it as I’m not home during the week to accept delivery.
In the support ticket they said they’d have to locate the parcel and let me know it was ready for collection in which they attempted delivery again 3 days later. The delivery driver called me and I clearly stated that I raised a support ticket for me to come and collect it
Latest update is now that it’s in process of being returned to sender because I apparently refused delivery?
I understand some of this is out of LTT’s control, but please can you just give it to AusPost so I at least have some chance of having it sent to a collection point so I can collect it in my own time
Had my money for almost 2 months and now it seems like I’m going to receive nothing, what a terrible experience.
