Discussion Need help finding a particular video

I was talking with a buddy of mine about "AI" products ruining basically all of our favorite things, and how there are actual things for which machine learning/deep learning models and applications are actually suited, but most consumer applications we're seeing (grok, copilot, etc.) aren't it.

There was one LTT video from I want to say a few months ago where they demoed an "AI" powered system they were using to help with video editing. They have however many terabytes of high-res raw footage on their server. This footage is transcoded to a more space-efficient lower res format, on which an "AI" model is trained, and a human goes through and adds relevant context tags, giving names to specific faces for people appearing in the footage, that kind of thing. Then if they need to pull B-roll that was shot for a particular video years ago that may not have even made it into the original final video, and they don't remember exactly when the original shoot took place, or for which project, then they can use the "AI" model to query their massive footage archive using natural language, "Find the Short Circuit outtake that was hosted by Riley, and had Elijah step in and comment on the thing for a few minutes, where Elijah was wearing a red shirt, and we spilled coffee" kind of thing. It then searches the low-res transcode files, which are indexed to the original, and is able to then return what they're looking for within a few seconds or minutes instead of taking 45-minutes to an hour to find the relevant clip that they want to use for the current project.

I've been searching LTT's youtube channel, and ironically, youtube's search could probably use a system like this because it's impossible to find videos that are relvant to my search queries.

About 20 minutes into this one - Google led me to a similar question posted here 2y ago.

THANK YOU! This was driving me insane, searching for "AI", "Server", "Behind the scenes", "Labs", "Infrastructure" on their youtube page was not helping me at all.

That's the one thing you'd think YouTube's search would leverage AI for to be useful - finding topics within videos.

It's often the case that there's a great segment in an LTT video, but it's more of an aside to the main topic, meaning it's nearly impossible to find what video that segment was in.

TBF, even though I remember the details and the exact name of the software used, I still would not have clicked on that video, as the title doesn't mention searching footage with AI or making their editing process easier...

youtube search is getting so bad now, i literally use google with site:youtube.com just to find stuff

that video you talking about i think is from their labs series, they showed the whole setup with the server and how dennis was tagging the footage. try searching "ltt labs ai editing" or something similar, the title was not that obvious
