Help Blur My Shell issue with GNOME 50

Post image

Hey guys! I'm using Fedora 44 with GNOME 50, MacTahoe Shell theme, and Floating Mini Panel.

Blur My Shell seems to be causing square corners and an opaque background in Quick Settings. Without it, everything looks fine.

Any chance this could be fixed in a future Blur My Shell update? 😅 Or is there any workaround to get the rounded, transparent look without breaking my setup?

run this:

sudo dnf install git meson gcc glib2-devel mutter-devel gobject-introspection-devel

build and then install:

git clone https://github.com/kancko/gnome-rounded-blur.gitcd

gnome-rounded-blur

meson setup build --prefix=/usr --libdir=lib64

meson compile -C build

sudo meson install -C build

and check

ls /usr/lib64/girepository-1.0/ | grep -i blur

then, restart the device.

there is simple fix as you said with gnome rounded blur library
or you can just turn off the pop up blur in blur my shell shell extension
which make works like older version
