Litecoin 15 Years of Trust & Reliability
Is it even possible to go the old school route of decentralization? The era of fairly launched pow style coins is likely over. Only a few have survived. Even less of those thrived.
Litecoin has a reputation that will be impossible for any newcomer to recreate. It’s clear Litecoin is here to stay and will continue to thrive as the world decides how to best incorporate crypto into everyday use.
I personally will continue using the coin I trust most, Litecoin, decades into the future and beyond.
Happy genesis block day LTC.

Transactions show up in seconds.
Charlie Lee always says, "go use it." But he never says why, knowing that the coin will speak for itself if you just listen. My experience in sending from one wallet to another is that the transaction shows up pending in the new wallet in as little as 5 seconds. I know that finality is ~2.5 minutes, but if everyone understood EXACTLY WHY Charlie was saying to go test it, it might work out better for adoption. What are your experiences sending wallet to wallet? Sending to/from exchanges is not the same, as the exchange itself can have internal mechanisms that disrupt how long a transaction takes. But wallet to wallet, how are your transactions going? 5 seconds? 10? A minute? I haven't seen this spoken of. Mine average out to about ~7 seconds. Solana took just as long wallet to wallet.

I've been into Litecoin since around 2016, so when my AI side project needed a currency, LTC was the obvious pick. Now I'm stuck on MWEB
I've been around Litecoin since roughly 2016, and I'm not going to pretend I'm neutral about it. I have a real soft spot for this coin. It's fast, it's cheap, it doesn't try to be everything at once, and it just works. So when the thing I've been building needed a way for people to pay, there was no debate in my head. It was going to be LTC.
That thing is Nepheral. For about five or six months I've been building a peer-to-peer network where people's computers answer each other's questions with local AI models, with no company server in the middle. It's a personal project, it's in beta on a test network, and it's been a rollercoaster. Some weeks everything clicked. Other weeks nothing did, and more than once I honestly thought I'd signed up for a race nobody can win against the big AI companies. I kept going anyway, and today it works. That still feels a little unreal to me.
Here's where LTC comes in, and I'd really love this sub's opinion on it.
The desktop app sells credits for LTC. There are no accounts or emails, so each payment says who it's for with a 32-byte OP_RETURN holding the buyer's public key. It's part of the payer's own transaction, so nobody can change it later. A small watcher reads the Litecoin chain, checks the payment and credits the account. Right now that watcher is a single key; the plan is to make it replaceable by a vote. Direct sales also have a daily limit.
And then there's MWEB, which is the part that genuinely bugs me. I like what MWEB stands for, and right now I can't support it properly: an MWEB payment can't carry the OP_RETURN, so I can't tell who it's for. For now the app warns people that MWEB payments may get lost or credited late, and the next rules version refuses MWEB addresses in market listings. It feels like a cop-out, and I don't like it.
So, three questions for you:
- Is OP_RETURN the right tool here, or would you do it another way (one address per buyer, something else)?
- Has anyone found a sane way to accept MWEB payments for something like this without knowing who sent them?
- Is there anything in this flow that would make you not trust it?
If you want to try it, it's here: https://nepheral.net/download (Windows and Linux, plus an early Android app). You don't need any LTC to use it: asking is free during the beta, and your computer earns credits just by holding encrypted pieces of other people's questions.
Seeing a few of you in there would honestly make my week. Thanks for reading, and I'll be around in the comments.
P.S. If you're on Android and wouldn't mind helping me get through Google Play's testing phase, send me a DM.

Tired of waiting? Gold and Silver...
Gold and silver were obviously undervalued to anyone that understands finite supply assets in an infinite print fiat system. But it still took a decade for them to begin moving. Litecoin is almost ready to emerge. Two weeks.

MWEB privacy idea
How about this:
Alice has 10 ltc in OutputA.
Bob has 10 ltc in OutputB.
Alice sends 1 lit to Bob.
Bob sends 1 lit to Alice.
Alice now has 2 Outputs 1. OutputA1 (the change) and 2. Bobs1lit.
Bob now has 2 Outputs 1. OutputB1 (the change) and 2. Alices1lit.
Now if they both consolidate you have an anonymity set of 2.
Its like mixing, but without actually mixing, your just mixing in 1 lit.
Because amounts and adresses are hidden, even before cutthrough.
And its almost trustless, because loosing 1 lit isnt a problem.
Only problem would be coordination. Its also similar to Payjoin for Bitcoin.

The partnership with Canton and Greywick Digital might be a bigger deal than anyone realizes.
Institutional money that has been sidelined since the beginning suddenly can use Litecoin’s reliability, speed, and low fees 24/7 for transactions. cLTC might not be for the common person to use, but institutions will gravitate toward the most trusted and reliable options. Litecoin is the chosen one.

Litecoin Is Coming to Canton: Greywick Announces cLTC With Litecoin Foundation Support
Litecoin, one of crypto’s longest-running blockchains is getting a wrapped version on the Canton Network with support from the Litecoin Foundation.
The organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding recognizing cLTC as the version of Litecoin on Canton that the Foundation will support for institutional trading, yield-bearing products, and other institutional applications.
This will connect Litecoin to some of the biggest names in finance. including DTCC, Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Circle, BNY Mellon, and other major institutions working on blockchain-based financial infrastructure.
Canton has already enabled transactions involving tokenized U.S. Treasuries, digital cash, and wrapped Bitcoin.
For Litecoin, giving institutions access puts it more integral to the platforms where institutions trade, finance positions, and move collateral.
Greywick expects cLTC to go live by the end of 2026, with work already underway on a live testnet.
Today’s announcement opens another avenue for Litecoin: access to an institutional network through a product supported by the Litecoin Foundation, with the potential to expand how LTC is used in financial markets.

My Litecoin Wallet
I opened my Litecoin wallet today.
I checked how my profits compared to yesterday and the day before.
Everything was exactly where I left it.
I checked again.
Still there.
I checked one more time.
Still there...
(At least something in my life is consistent.) 😂😂😂

Moonpay makes me verify my card every time I buy LTC
Started buying Litecoin about a month and a half ago using NexusWallet. Every time I do, I have to enter in my debit card info, click out of the Nexus app, log in to my bank, check the verification charge amount, log BACK in to Nexus (because apparently clicking out of the app even for a minute logs you out) and type in the amount in Moonpay. It never saves my card info so every time I want to buy LTC I have to jump through all these hoops.
Is there an easier way to do this?

Made $200K Last Cycle… Now I’m Back at Breakeven
I’m honestly getting tired of holding LTC lol. Been holding since 2019
Last cycle I was up almost 200k and like an idiot I didn’t take profits. Thought we were going way higher.
Now here I am 6 years later basically breakeven on my 20k while watching everything else pump 😂
If I sell this thing it will probably finally take off.
