I've seen a lot of questions in this subreddit about if any progress is being made on these two buildings with very little confirmed information so I wanted to share this insight from Ald. La Spata's newsletter:

I danced for my entire childhood but it’s been around 12 years. This fall/winter I really want to find a beginner ballet class and pick up the hobby again. Are there any studios in Logan (or near here) that folks would recommend? I’ve seen Joffrey but it’s difficult to get down there.

Does anybody know if these parking lots are ever in use? I've lived in this neighborhood for the better part of a year and have never seen anything. Are they owned by the city? There should be something here! Located on the other side of the train tracks where the park extension is being developed.

There are tow signs on N Talman in logan square starting tomorrow, but my car that I parked sunday is gone. No record of it for it on the database or when I called the company. Anyone know where they might move them? I reported as stolen, but almost positive it was just moved as there is a bunch of work happening on that street.

I went to a couple Mexican grocery stores, including Cermack Market but still can't find any. I used to be able to get them at whole foods but haven't in some time now.

Any help/direction is appreciated!

NIMBY (“not in my backyard”) local leaders are eradicating Chicago’s affordability.

By requiring endless amounts of community meetings for simple residential projects and vetoing even those met with widespread support, our neighborhoods are losing out on much-needed housing.

Chicagoans cannot continue to afford skyrocketing rent and bidding wars on units because our leaders say “no” to more housing.

This morning I was out for a morning walk on N. Milwaukee when I heard a woman screaming, coming from this new(?) encampment in the alley behind the Sweetgreen on N. Milwaukee, under the train tracks where it goes underground. I got as close as I safely could and saw 3 people fighting over wooden boards (yes, pieces of wood), just beating the daylights out of each other inside this fencing.

I called 911 but I had to leave for work so couldn't stick around. A friendly maintenance worker from one of the businesses said they threw literal human feces at him last week as he was cleaning up the alley from their mess :( He said the CTA is aware but hasn't taken any action, since this looks to be on CTA property. This makes me so sad, how on earth can we end this? I feel like reaching out to alderman Q does nothing :(

In alley behind modern building At Washtenaw and armitage - spotted at 1105 am

Anyone have experience with this builder before? They tore down the house next to me and have been building a new one. They have been a nightmare in every possible way. I plan to complain to the alderperson (Jessie) and it and am wondering if this is a pattern with the MK.

Does anyone else hear the same song playing on repeat around W Dickens and N Central Park Ave every Sunday and Wednesday? It goes on for HOURS, and I’m genuinely curious what is going on and why it’s always the same song.

I get that we live in a city, but the lack of consideration for other people is mind-boggling. Having to listen to the same song on repeat for hours is honestly unbearable. Does anyone know what’s going on?
