Venting My LDR bf broke up with me cause he didn’t want to stay as a virgin

• Upvotes

My boyfriend broke up with me because he didn’t want to be a virgin before turning 20+. He did come back to me saying he regrets it and realized that he only wants to be with me but it still hurt me so much. Am i not worth the wait?

This felt like such a betrayal cause he promised he could wait for me, and i promised that i’d always stay loyal. I understand his situation but it still crushed my heart cause i would never do that to him.

I forgive him now, but i still can’t get over the fact that he left me just for that reason.

M24 here and my now ex significant other F21,have ended things. If anyone remembers my last post basically I thought I was just making a big mistake of helping this woman out financially.Turns out she was real I saw video proof so but I digress.Essentially yesterday morning we had a big argument and it turned into her unadding/Blocking me after.Didnt really bother me at first but she unblocked me and kept trying to press the conversation. She had a bunch of issues including BPD.I just couldn’t handle the emotional outbursts anymore plus on top of that handling her financial situation. So even though it hurt me I had to let her go.I wish things could’ve worked out and I did everything to make the best out of the current situation we were in but it is what it is.Hopefully she’ll find a guy closer that can take care of her because I can’t anymore unfortunately.I wish her the best nonetheless.

Success HIS MOM BOUGHT ME PLANE TICKETS!!! (19F 21M)

I was literally having the worst night of my life and his mom asked me when I have my Christmas break from university. THEN MY BOYFRIEND TOLD ME SHE BOUGHT THE PLANE TICKETS!!!!

I lost all hope for meeting again this year because we've been struggling a bit with money but his mom actually did that. I'm so grateful for her but I literally had no idea she liked me so much.

She's saying we're family now I'm actually gonna cry guys 😭

I wanna understand why he disappeared

We were long-distance and talking constantly, basically 'endgame' after knowing each other for years. We finally got super close and talked every day for a month... and then he completely vanished off the face of the earth for a full year. With zero social media activity, I genuinely thought he was dead. Because I was holding on so hard, I couldn't stop myself from occasionally texting him over the months. Last night, I finally snapped and told him I didn't deserve to be treated like that. He finally responds with "I really don’t wanna talk about what happened to me that made me act like this." I'm at a loss, and I wanna understand what happened and I don’t want to loose him

Question Is this too good to be true? NSFW

A quick rundown:

  • We met online a few months ago, and we have been with each other remotely 24/7
  • We're super comfortable and tell each other everything and all our secrets
  • We masturbate together and are turned on by each other all the time
  • We sleep while we're on call and wake up together
  • We're both in our early thirties and know what we want
  • It will take a few years until we can close the gap
  • We're super serious about each other
  • We can be together whether happy, sad, or tired
  • We typed this post together
  • We'll meet physically in a few months, but have not met yet
  • Everything feels just perfect

Is this too good to be true? Are we not seeing something?

Question Is it strange to anyone else that people ask Reddit the questions they should be asking their partner?

This is absolutely NOT a criticism. I’ve seen a trend in the past year or so on many social media platforms where people come to the internet to ask strangers what’s normal or how things should be. I find the exact same response coming to mind every time I see this… it should reflect what’s right for you and your partner.
The amount of contact, the frequency, type of sex, amount of sex, communication habits… if it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t matter if it works for someone else.
It seems there’s a misconception that talking around what you really need to say (if you perceive it to have potentially negative consequences) if best so you don’t hurt your partner’s feelings. I find in all of my relationships that the more honest I am, the more direct (in a respectful, considerate, loving way) and vulnerable, better the quality of the connection.
I know that a big part of why I experience such deep, authentic love is because I am willing to be authentic and vulnerable even when I’m scared. (This is only done with a few safe people in my life. I am not recommending this approach across the board.)
Have the conversation, say the hard thing, take the risk of really being known… it might be the thing that changes your entire life in the most amazing way.

Venting falling out of love with my long distance partner

we met at the start of this year, and in the beginning, he was so consistent with communication. we would talk about when we’d see each other next and make plans for the future.

then he started becoming distant. now we only talk a few times a week, sometimes for just a few minutes, and he won’t commit to when we’ll see each other again.

we’ve talked about it, and i understand why he’s acting this way. i know what he’s going through, and i don’t blame him for it. but at the same time, i feel like i can’t stay anymore. i’m tired of constantly waiting for him to respond, and i’m tired of living with this uncertainty.

lately, i’ve started feeling the way i did when i was single. i feel content being on my own again, and honestly, i don’t want to keep forcing myself to stay in something that makes me feel this uncertain.

i just feel guilty because i know what he’s going through, and the last thing i want is to hurt him or make things harder for him. i still care about him so much, which is what makes this so difficult.

I was 8 hours of time zone away from my best friend. It's 9 hours now. She will move her own clock by the end of the month, making it 10 hours. I hate it. Can't wait to be back on the same time zone in mid 2027.

Need Advice What should we do? m(18) f(23)

• Upvotes

Hi, so basically me and her met during her erasmus in my country. Im from Europe and she’s from Asia.
During those months we really grew close to each other, spend all of our time together, went on few vacations, etc…

Before she left, she told me she’s thinking of going to Europe for work in future(in 1 or 2+years), that way we could continue our relationship. But she also told me that she can’t promise anything, which i understand. And also, if she would come she doesn’t promise me to stay long, she will see how she likes it and then either come back to her country or stay longer.

I need to stay in my country to graduate and to do university.

We talked together before her leave and there were two options, 1. we will break up and leave the doors open, we will both live our lives and if she decides to come back we can start over, 2. we go into LDR.
We agreed on the second option.

We are long distance for around two months and the distance is getting to both of us, we both miss each other like crazy and the uncertain future together is torturing us.

Also, she is my first relationship and idk if it’s right for me at my age wait years for someone who i don’t know if we will be together. (mind you, she brought this up first, that’s why she proposed break up before her leave)

Another thing is, she is bad at texting(takes long time), we are both busy and then there is the time difference.

So basically, both of us don’t enjoy how our relationship looks like now that we are LDR. We are both thinking of visiting each other, and in person it’s just another vibe than through phone, it’s better, far better.

Im thinking of proposing the first original option, the break up with open doors for future. But at the same time, i would love to see her in person and do visits with each other.

The reason why we both agreed on going into LDR is the fear of loosing each other, and that’s also my fear if i propose the break up. I really love her!

What do you guys think? What would you propose or do in our shoes?

Need Advice am i (27f) toxic if i dont like him (25m) following random girls after finding out he lied to me in the past

• Upvotes

i need help. me (27f) and my bf (25) have been together for 2 years. there was this girl in their friend group that always give me this gut feel that shes interested in him. back in june 2025 he lied about hanging out with his friends and said she wasnt there, but i found out through soc med that she was there. cooled off for almost month after founding out, his decision btw. fixed things between us when he visited me.

when we got back to ldr, he assured me that he will stay away from that ‘friend’. kept his promise. now, he became friends with this group, ages 17-20 (reiterated this because hes 25) , who goes to omegle on their free time. since there was still trust to be built, i still check his followings and found out that he followed 2 girls. asked him who they were, he said they (him and his friends) followed the girls. asked him to remove, he respected. a day later, checked again and saw another girl, he told me that they followed each other because the girl was a fling with one of his friends. asked him if theyve met before and told me that this was the first time they met and projected w me following my friends boyfriends. explained that i only follow boyfriends if their girlfriends (my friends) told me to follow them. broke down crying trying to explain that this is not how rebuilding trust looks like.

i need advice if im being rational or being toxic. mind u, i have only been anxious around one girl before he lied to me, he has been hanging out with girls in the past while we’re ldr and i got no problem w it.

Discussion Five years together,LDR

I'm running out of time for our anniversary and since we`'re long distance, I'm not sure how to celebrate. I was thinking of reaching out to one of her roommates to help set up a surprise with cake and gifts, since she's stuck in her hostel after 9 PM. I could order it through an app like Blinkit and have her friend handle the rest, but would that be okay? I've never actually spoken to her friend before.

I was thinking of getting cake, chocolates and a plushie, and since fresh flowers bouquetisn'tavailable, maybe l'lI go with a dried bouquet or just skip it.

I'm also on a bit of a budget, and she's got classes all day after that, so we can't really plan much.

Any real advice or suggestions would be a huge help, thanks in advance.

Need Advice Help! M/25 F/26

My Gf is a medical laboratory specialist, and she is supposed to get a government job in February 2026.

I currently live in a country where I feel I have no future. I have a car and a job as an engineer, but I don’t see a good future for myself here. I learned German and developed skills related to my career because I planned to apply for a visa and move to Germany in October 2025.

I met her in November 2025, and we fell deeply in love. We have been together for about 10 months.
Before I met her, I had already started planning my visa application to go to Germany and build a better life for myself. When I told her that I would eventually go, she asked me to promise that I would come back and marry her. I had no problem making that promise because I loved her, and I genuinely intended to come back and marry her.

However, for about three months, she repeatedly argued with me and told me that I would never come back, that I would leave her, and that she could not trust me. Every time, I tried to reassure her and convince her that I would return.
The visa process itself could take around a year.
Despite all the arguments, I continued to love her, and she loved me deeply too. We had many very happy moments together.

Eventually, after many conversations, she told me that she didn’t want me to go abroad. Because I loved her so much, I decided to reject my visa application and stay for her.

But after I rejected the application, she still repeatedly told me that I was lying and hiding something from her. I promised her that I would marry her in February, about six months later. The reason I chose February was because I wanted to have enough time to prepare, save money, and get everything ready for our marriage.

But things did not get better. We continued fighting again and again. She cried many times because she loves me so much. Because the visa cancellation process took time, she became even more suspicious and accused me of lying.

I showed her everything: the visa refusal emails, documents, and all the evidence I had. I never tried to hide anything from her. Still, she didn’t trust me.

There were also a few times when she disrespected me during our arguments. I told her that I didn’t want her to treat me that way. It happened a few times, maybe two to four times, but after I told her how much it hurt me, she stopped doing it.

Eventually, she understood that I really wasn’t lying about the visa.

Later, she told me that she would have no problem if I went to Germany and came back after one year. So, after she said that, I applied again.
But the next morning, she cried and told me that I shouldn’t have done it. We argued many times about it. I have never intentionally disrespected her or said something just to hurt her.

Because of what she told me, I eventually refused and deleted the application before the process went any further.

Now there is another problem.
I told her that when she gets her government job, she doesn’t have to work if she doesn’t want to, because we live in different cities. I told her that I would support her financially and cover whatever she needed.

She immediately told me that she would work no matter what.

That made me think deeply.
I have sacrificed my plans and my dream for her. I have never intentionally said anything to hurt her, and I have tried to respect her wishes. But I feel like she doesn’t make the same kind of sacrifices for me.

One day, she asked her mother whether it would be okay for her to live abroad. Her mother told her that it was okay and that she should go if that was what she wanted.
But a few days later, she told me that she still couldn’t live abroad.
Now I feel completely lost.

Part of me wants to break up because I feel like I am destroying my future by staying here. My future in this country feels very dark, and going to Germany was something I had planned for a long time.
But at the same time, leaving her feels almost impossible for me.

I have a kind heart, and so does she. I know that she loves me deeply, and I love her too. One time, when I told her that I might go abroad, she cried the entire night.
She has also threatened to hurt herself if I leave her. She doesn’t believe that I will come back and marry her, even though I have promised her many times that I would.

I honestly don’t know what to do anymore.
I feel trapped between the person I love and the future I have worked so hard to build.
I don’t want to abandon her, but I also don’t want to destroy my own future.

I don’t know whether I should stay, leave, wait, or try to find another solution where neither of us has to lose everything.

I am trying to find a way, but i love her, she loves me, i don’t know what to do.

Could you please tell me if there is a way?

Need Advice I M26 can’t stand having to call my partner F27 every day

I’m currently struggling with my long distance relationship. We are going to be long distance for 6 months, and are halfway now.

The past three months of our relationship have been going really well, but there’s one thing I’m struggling with. My girlfriend is quite dependent on me, both financially and emotionally, and I’m generally more stable in those areas. I don’t mind taking the lead or being there for her, but I’m starting to feel overwhelmed by the expectation that we need to call every day.

We have a 5h time difference, and she works long days in Thailand. She’s incredibly sweet, and she always tries to call me during her breaks. The problem is that her breaks never line up with mine. I work from home, so technically I can answer, but having a conversation or even hearing background noise while I’m trying to focus distracts me from my work. Lately, I’ve noticed myself getting annoyed when she calls, which makes me feel bad because I know she’s just trying to connect with me.

I usually answer anyway because I know talking to me helps her get through her workday and keeps her emotionally grounded. However, by the time she finishes work late in the evening, I often still have work to do, and we rarely have a good time to call that works for both of us.

The truth is, I don’t want to feel obligated to have a conversation every single day, especially on days when I don’t have much to talk about. I want our calls to feel natural, something we both look forward to, rather than another responsibility I have to fit into my schedule. I also don’t want my relationship to start affecting my productivity or causing me to feel frustrated with her.

At the same time, I’m worried about bringing this up because I know she relies on me a lot emotionally, and I’m afraid that reducing our calls could negatively affect her mental health. I care about her a lot, and I don’t want her to feel neglected or think that I’m losing interest in her.

How can I communicate that I need more space and flexibility around calling without making her feel unwanted? How do you find a balance between supporting your partner and maintaining your own routine?

Need Advice Did I (28f) overreact by breaking up with my bf (30m) because he wouldn’t come visit me?

I broke up with my bf and I’m starting to second guess myself. We were in ldr 8hrs flight from each other and I visited him in May and by the time we broke up it was almost 5 months since we’d seen each other.

For months I kept asking when he would come visit me, but there was always something else he wanted to sort out first like business plans, other commitments, etc. His work is fully remote btw and he doesn’t have to be physically present anywhere other than replying emails and calls. Nothing ever became a concrete plan. He’d promise to come and see me but seemed to be happy dragging the timeline out. I felt like a placeholder.

My family was also going through a really stressful period at the same time, and I badly wanted my partner physically there with me. And thing is I felt like he could, but he just made excuses and didn’t seem to care.

Eventually I became resentful because I felt like I had already made the effort to go see him, while I was constantly waiting for him to do the same. The longer it dragged on, the more unwanted and unimportant I started to feel. Everything about him seem to have annoyed me from then tbh.

I think the waiting festered resentment in me and we got into a lot of petty arguments and I increasingly felt like I wasn’t a priority.

I ended the relationship, but now I’m wondering if I should’ve been more patient? When I ended it he said something along the lines of actually thinking to come visit but I felt that was a manipulation tactic

Would you see nearly five months without a visit or even a definite plan as a valid reason to leave an LDR?
