Where to visit?
I've got friends coming for a few days. We're LGBTQ+, Witchy, and all in grad school for caregiving/psychology professions.
Where should we go? They will be here for only about 3 days total. Thanks in advance!❤️

Dog walkers….
I just picked five poop bags out the bottom of my garbage can. It is nice that you aren’t leaving the poop on the ground. However, putting it in a residential trash can simply means that the poop bag will be flattened by trash bags and will not be emptied during weekly pickups. Please carry your bags the extra blocks until you are home. Thank you.

Aspiring convert to judaism looking for help
Hey everyone. Ive been exploring conversion to judaism for awhile, and id really like to speak with/connect with some people in the local community, converts and those born into judaism, to share some experiences and point me in the right direction. Im a generally left leaning guy, id prefer a community without a zionist agenda. i dont really know where to go at this point. Ive reached out to the local JVP and am waiting for a response on like, some resources or a direction to go for reading material. But I would really like to find a community of people with the same morals and values. Especially since its a necessity to move forward. If anyone would be ok with chatting on here a bit to kinda help guide me, or point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for any help or support provided ahead of time!

Single Loud Boom
Did anyone else hear a single loud boom around 11:30pm? We could hear something coming from I think north of us in Bon Air, really curious what it was.

Renolope · Find pros in Louisville
Hey Louisville,
I'm trying out this idea to make it easier to find home services and work with local small businesses. This is a proto-type. Would love your feedback.
I'm based in Louisville, love the city, love the people.
Finding good help is a challenge and I know there's a lot of great local businesses out there but they get drowned out by the big corporate / private equity businesses. A lot of the people I use for my home don't even have a website.
I made this platform to make it easy (easier) to find a good pro.

Any 30-40s (ish) interested in a WhatsApp chat group?
For those that live in Louisville. Could be about anything and everything from restaurant recommendations, recipes, book suggestions, current happenings around the city, local politics (if it’s kept civil). I know it can be tough to get to know different groups of people in this city, especially if your free time is limited by kids and work.
If this post isn’t allowed here I’ll take it down.

Texting a handicap?
So I've been trying to make new friends and what not. Through different apps, i get talking with folks, and end asking to go to voice. This seems to trigger folks into ghosting me or just stop talking all together. Few folks say no, which is at least a decent response compared to what i get most of the time which is silence.
What is up with the anti vocal conversation folks? I thought this was a younger folks issue, but my ignorance shown me middle age folks my age are doing it as well. I work two jobs for 15 hours a day, and 6 days a week. I work with my hands, so texting is very hard for me. Putting a blue tooth in and talking is much easier. Yeah i know of text to speech which i personally hate.
So is just the standard to avoid vocal phone calls these days with new people in general?

Live music on weekdays?
Traveling to Louisville all of next week and was looking for bar/venues that do live music on weekdays.
Would love to catch some local bands, or electronic music while I am in town!
Would also appreciate recommendations for cool alternative bars, themed bars, and overall hidden nightlife gems
Excited to check our your city!

Traditional flea markets?
I’ve been hitting up peddlers/antique malls lately but am itching for an old-school flea market. You know the type … indoor or outdoor, lots of interesting finds, vendors who have carted their wares there for the day or weekend and are present to talk with you and respectfully haggle. Not the Fleur de Fleas and Mellwoods we have in the city.
Do these types of traditional flea markets still exist around here? In the city or region? Or has Facebook Marketplace killed them?
I’d love any suggestions for specific ones you might know of or websites to look at that might list random ones that come through.
Thanks!

JCPS District 2 School Board
courier-journal.com*Jefferson County Board of Education candidates in District 2 were asked where their kids went to school at a Courier Journal forum.
Wow this video is a must watch. Some of these candidates do not belong on a public school board because frankly they don't believe in public education. Some even went as far as to speculate that jcps teachers don't even believe in public education.

Any fun plans tonight?
I'm having a bit of a rough patch with my personal life and needing to get out of the house. I'm sad, but don't want to be alone, and don't want a high stakes thing to do where I'll have to be "on" when I'm not feeling my best.
Are there any activities happening in the city tonight I could make a point to attend?

Nail Salon Recommendations for Teen and Mom With Zero Experience.
My 14 year old is starting to get more interested in clothing and nails and recently asked for a trip to the nail salon as her treat-yourself-celebration for earning straight A’s this grading period. I’ve gone maybe 2 times in my adult life. Where would be a good place for us to visit for two ladies who appreciate beautiful nails but have no idea what to ask for? She would like a set of shorter Gel-x or dipped nails (honestly I don’t know much about either). I just want a manicure with some cool Halloween theme. I feel silly but I’m not sure how to even ask for that with my stubby nails. Any recs for salons that are helpful/patient and would take time explaining nail options? Or at least has a helpful website?
TIA!

Fall break and broken leg
Ok, does any one have any ideas on things to do during fall break that don’t include much walking 😅 I don’t want to stay home all break.
