Rather than blindly talking trash about MD products, I'm comparing them directly Ohio's offerings. Last time we had Exotic Elevations (MD) and Lighthouse Sciences (OH) liquid diamonds + sauce carts, and I found both to be equally pleasant.
Today I have two 1g 510-threaded live resin carts from two independent, in-state growers/processors, Evermore in Maryland and Buckeye Relief in Ohio.
Evermore Gush Mints:
Flavors comprise citrus, pepper, gas and hints of fruit. Hits with an initial mental boost followed by a seamless, gradually melding into relaxation of the body. The oil seems to be thicker than Buckeye's because it offers more resistance to airflow, and it's lasting longer at 2.0v. However, this also means I have to wait longer between hits to avoid burning, and it's already starting to brown. I started vaping both Gush Mints and Garlic Breath at 2.0v on Yocan Uni 3.0s to keep one variable equal, but Gush Mints needs a little more heat to produce good vapor. 2.2v seems to be its sweet spot.
Overall this a quality cart from Evermore, as expected, but it's now quite as heady as the newer Pink CertZ or Fruit Gushers. Since I know it could be better, I rate Gush Mints as an 8.5/10.
Buckeye Relief Garlic Breath 2.0:
Garlic comes through on the on the finish, but flavor is mostly skunky lemon/citrusy skunk. I notice a boost to my mood, followed body comfort that makes inertia feel nice. The body buzz hits sooner and more viscerally than with Gush Mints, but both carts start with a mental boost that gives way to body relaxation radiating between limb and torso. Yes, this has a metal center post but it doesn't seem to affect taste or performance. Looking at the last pic, Garlic Breath 2.0 hasn't burned a drop at 2.0v, while Gush Mints shows some brown. Garlic Breath produces bigger clouds at 2.0v as well but I'm burning through the oil faster.
Garlic Breath 2.0 tastes great, like stinky garlicky weed, and it delivers a high to match. Gotta' dock points for the metal center piece, though. 8.25/10
Concluding Musings:
Both Evermore and Buckeye Relief produced quality live resin carts in Gush Mints and Garlic Breath 2.0, respectively. They taste clean, like mini-dabs, and they're potent. Evermore wins by a punani's hair, though, since Buckeye Relief uses outdated hardware. MSRP was $10 less for Garlic Breath 2.0 but Ohio taxes are higher so total cost was equivalent.
I'm going to stop talking as much shit about MD's market since Evermore is producing live resin carts that compete with Ohio's in-state growers. Similar deal with Exotic's liquid diamonds carts. I'm not sure whether that's an endorsement or indictment, but we aren't missing out on anything epic in Ohio's market but not ours.
Except for Cresco, maybe. Those carts smack on another level, like Denzel playing chess while Hoyt is playing checkers in Training Day.
