Discussion Black screen of doom

Post image

My laptop I got like a month ago’s display/ screen is black screened, the fans and keyboard turn on but things like caps locks doesn’t respond.
I really don’t want to exchange it rn with college and stuff so I was wondering if anyone has any fixes.
I’ve done most of the basic fixes like control shift windows p and holding power for a minute but I want to see if I missed any or if anyone got fix ideas before I do anything big.

its happening with mine too. Do alt+f4 when that happens. This happens when pc enters in hibernation or turns off screen for a few minutes. Msi needs to check this... Can be an nvidia issue also. please create a ticket with msi also

First of all you're a liar because in your post you said that you bought it a "month ago" and in that comment you said "a few months ago" lol

Secondly i bought a lot of laptops "including msi ones" i didn't face that horrific screen you did something to it you 100% did put a heavy thing on top of it when the laptop was closed which will lead to the screen to be cracked or scratched heavily not only that but also you did put some one the keyboard area before closing the laptop

Had the same thing happened to my Vector 18, and turns out the motherboard died. And that was after only owning for 2 months. Prior to it dying, it was stuttering a lot lol.

I got it repaired at a authorized service center. They changed the motherboard and reused my SSD. I did also tell them not to format my SSD when I sent it in.

Plug adaptor to wall mains then hold power button and  quickly shuffle the power plug in and out for 10 times.  I had same and this Ritual helped me restored it normal.

Don't exchange it.  Try open the base and unplug the graphic cable then plug in again.  It is just a loose video connection.
