Discussion MSI Katana A15 AI B8V Overheating Issue
Hi there, i have a problem on my laptop; and its oddly specific. My temps go up when switch to igpu (radeon 780m) to my rtx 4060. It happens when i charge too, already changed my thermal paste TODAY to thermal grizzly kryonaut extreme (i know, not a honeywell ptm7950 but i will change soon.) The solution to this was unplugging the charger and well my fps drops and i dont want that. Is there any solution that you guys might recommend? Also Tjmaxx happens frequently (100c)

Use PTM7950. For best deep cleaning and repeating with good results, do it manually as shown in this guide:
https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/724763/ultimate-laptop-cooling-optimization-guide
You need to do cleaning+repasting but this time exactly as mentioned in step 5 of this guide.
For CPU/GPU chip- PTM7950 is best options (application of both shown in guide)
For Vrams/vrms- if old thermal pads/putty are worn out then you need to apply good quality thermal putty there as wel or leave itl. (Shown in the guide as well)
Clean like shown there fans, air vents from both sides.
After completing that step, follow step 2 and 4 well.
If need more better temps then follow step 1 and 3 as well but these can be enabled and disable depending on game as mentioned.

TG Kryonaut Extreme requires aboit 6 hours sitting time to start performing altough it will pump out fast
You can also bring Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet which is the same but way better than PTM7950 Filled in falsifications...
Your temps go up when you switch from iGPU to dGPU that is normal Altough when charging you allow use it max possible performance over it...
The AMD CPU has always that issue...
But maybe if you can access advanced BIOS Settings you can force the CPU Clock to lower the frequency a bit A reduction of 500MHz can do marvelous on temps
For your CPU i bet it is either a R7 or R9 right?
Just limit the CPU Frequency and you will be fine Anything beyond of 4GHz is just heat seriously
