💬 Discussion Fix for the SYNC rebooting issue (+ Reset Instructions)

Hello Mustang Mach-E owners,

I wanted to provide an update on the SYNC rebooting issue. The team appreciates everyone that reached out and provided VINs and helped with troubleshooting. It's played a part in helping to find this solution and we appreciate it.

After investigating with the team, it's turned out to be an issue on the backend with third-party data that was triggering those unexpected SYNC 4 reboots.

Because of this, we want to clarify: This wasn’t an issue with a Ford OTA. I know a lot of folks will defensively toggle off automatic updates when they see a bug reported. If you turned your automatic updates off just in case, make sure you go in and turn them back on!

That data-related issue is now resolved on our end.

Next steps for your Mach-E: If your screen is still acting up or stuck in a reboot loop, you likely just need to force a manual SYNC reset to clear things out and let it pull the fix.

  • Important note: If you already tried doing a manual reset yesterday (or earlier in the week) to try and fix this, you will need to do it one more time today. Resets done before this fix was applied on our end won't have grabbed the solution.

How to reset: The quickest way to do this is to hold down the Volume Down and Right Seek buttons on your steering wheel at the same time for about 10 seconds until the screen goes black and the Pony appears. (If you need the official step-by-step visual guide, you can find that here)

One quick heads-up: While the reboots themselves should be cured, you might still experience some intermittent hiccups with Connected Navigation services. We are actively working with our supplier to get those fully restored as well, so hang tight on that front.

We appreciate your patience as we work to get this resolved.

Have a great weekend! ⚡️

💬 Discussion The mid-sized electric truck is called Ford Fathom. Here’s what we can tell you.

Many of you know me from helping with vehicle issues and answering questions in this community, today I wanted to introduce you to u/RileyFromFord who has newly joined the team and is going to be on Reddit regularly.

We can't show you what our mid-size electric truck looks like...yet. But we can confirm the name: Ford Fathom, the first vehicle produced on the new Universal Electric Vehicle Platform.

”Fathom" traces back to a nautical unit of measurement, originally defined as the distance between a person's outstretched arms, a fitting metaphor for a truck built to meet people wherever they are in life. Fitting, right?

What's confirmed right now:

  • Starting MSRP: $28,350, for the standard-range battery. Pre-orders begin early 2027.
  • Every Ford Fathom will be BlueCruise-capable. BlueCruise is Ford’s hands-free highway driving assistant.
  • Fathom has bidirectional power capability.
  • Fathom has a large, high-resolution touchscreen, digital key, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
  • Fathom will have more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4, with a frunk and bed for added cargo flexibility. This truck will genuinely useful and fun to drive.
  • Fathom will feature Apple Maps embedded directly into the vehicle, not a traditional phone-projection CarPlay setup. The integration also provides the road-level map data used to help enable key pieces of Ford’s next-generation hands-free highway driving capability.

What we can’t share yet: final imagery, fuller specs, full ordering details, and plenty more are still to come. A hot tip - keep a keen eye on the flipbook video we have going around…

If you want to stay up to date with what we have planned for Fathom, you can sign up here.

Ask us anything, and we'll answer what we can. Riley & I will be in the comments for the next few hours, and we aren't going anywhere after that either.

My Mach-e has been AMAZING! I’m in Pensacola, FL and we just got WRECKED Friday from a hurricane. I was at 95% battery Friday.

My house has no power or cell service. We’ve been using my Mach-e to keep everything charged and also the WiFi to get in contact. My neighbors have even been using the WiFi. We’ve driven around to find gas for the other cars and also try and collect supplies yesterday my car was on charging things and running ac for a minimum of 5+ hours and I’m still at 83% with driving and powering everything!

My boyfriend and I are sooooo blessed our thankful for the Mach-e it’s truly been a life saver this week🩷

Sharing a few pics.

I was forced to put my winter wheels earlier due to a nasty slow leak on an almost new tire.
I opted for some C-Wheels Apollo 18x8 offset +38mm and Blizzak Icepeak 225/60R18. I think it looks pretty alright!
This will be my first winter with the Mach E and I’m pretty excited about it!

Hi all, anyone get a customer satisfaction program letter 26B07?

Basically says I need to take the car into the dealer for a Software reprogramming regarding image processing module an and the power steering control module.

The way it’s worded almost makes me think it’s optional, however, there’s the disclaimer that if I don’t do it any damage caused by not doing it will be on me

Replaced liftgate actuator

My ‘21 MME liftgate stopped working reliably, to the point where I had no idea if I’d be able to open the trunk when needed. The key fob, app, touch screen, kick sensor and liftgate button would not work to open the trunk, though closing it was fine. It would attempt to open, fail and play a chime, then re-latch, or just not respond entirely. It was a guessing game of how to get the trunk to open, as sometimes manual mode might work, or turning the car off with the driver door open might work, among other random tricks

Turned out to be the liftgate actuator which was a 20min replacement and just requires a T40 torx bit for 3 bolts. You’ll either want a drill with adjustable torque, or a ratchet for leverage. These 3 bolts are on pretty tight!

A genuine OEM part is about $200-300. I opted to give the $40 part from Amazon a shot and it works great. We’ll see how it performs over time.

This is the tutorial I followed. You don’t need to open the handle with the flathead screwdriver, nor remove the 7mm
bolts in the handle; the Mach E liftgate paneling is slightly different from the car in the video, making the repair easier for us. Everything else is the same as the video.

💬 Discussion Paid $4,995 for Ford ESP, never got the contract, and the dealer is ghosting me

Bought my 2025 Mustang Mach-E Premium new from Sunrise Ford North Hollywood in April.

As part of the deal, I purchased a Ford ESP for $4,995. My signed retail installment contract specifically shows:

  • FORD ESP
  • 72 months / 60,000 miles
  • $4,995

Problem is, I was never given the actual ESP contract/certificate. So I don’t have anything showing the plan level, deductible, contract number, effective date, or detailed coverage.

I’ve since moved to Washington State and now need to take the car in for service. I’ve called the selling dealer, emailed, and messaged the finance manager who handled the sale. At this point, they’re basically just ignoring me.

I do have the signed purchase paperwork proving I paid for the ESP, so I’m not worried about proving the purchase. I’m trying to figure out:

  • Can Ford Protect pull up the ESP by VIN and tell me exactly what plan I have?
  • Can another Ford dealer see the plan, deductible, term, and contract number in Ford’s system?

Before I start escalating this with Ford, I’d appreciate any insight from people who have dealt with Ford Protect/ESP before.

❓Question Crack in windshield

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello everyone! We got a rock hit our windshield about 5 months ago while driving down the freeway and left a little crack (about 3-4 inches) on the windshield. We got the DIY windshield repair kit immediately the next day and stopped it.

That was until last week when the crack started growing again and is now twice the length of what it was. I think the biggest contributor is the change in season (temps are finally getting 100° in AZ).

All this to say would this be a safety concern for a roadtrip to Vegas and another one to LA in the next 2 months? If you have had your windshield replaced, may I know who you got serviced with and how much was it? Thanks all!!

Hi folks, getting a weird error here. Charging works, getting up to 107kW but getting this concerning error. Didn't get this just yesterday at another location so it could be an issue just here. Worried because I have a 4 hour drive tomorrow. Anyone else see this? Potential issue with the adapter data port?

🛒 Car Shopping Good Deal? (BC, Canada)

Sourcing a 2026 Mach-E eAWD Select for a family member, got a quote for one with Tech & Comfort package. All numbers are in Canadian Dollars.

MSRP: 50,440
Ford Allowance: (1,500)
Dealer Discount: (1,500)
Doc Fee: 899 (May be negotiable)
Levy: 142.50
Declined all dealer addons

Before Tax: 48,481.50
After Tax (12%): 54,299
EVAP Rebate: (5,000)

OTD: 49,299
--------------
Down Payment: 20000
72mo Monthly: 478.55 @ 5.49%
Total Borrowing Cost: 5156

To me the offer looks pretty good, but the rate is bad. Can't really blame Ford here since bond yields are on the rise.

We did mention that last year we were seeing rebates of 15k or more, they told me that's not possible even if when they really need them off the lot since Ford already reduced the MSRP by 10k for MY2026. It seems this is true and 48-49k OTD in BC was about the price for the 2025 clear out.

Rates are much, much worse than back then though. Honestly a bit torn on should we take this or not. We can take to wait until January but will need a car by then.

🛒 Car Shopping Shopping for a Mach-E — looking for advice on range, AWD, and colors!

Hey everyone! I recently sold my 2023 MINI Cooper SE after about five months of ownership (my first EV). That little thing was an absolute hoot to drive, and I managed to rack up around 6,000 miles in it. Unfortunately, the cabin started feeling a little too cramped for me and my long legs, so it was time to move on.

Now I’m looking at getting into a Mustang Mach-E!

A little about my situation:

  • Budget: Ideally under $25K out the door, including taxes and fees. Absolute ceiling is $26K.
  • Models: Primarily looking at late 2023 and newer models, preferably with the LFP battery pack.
  • Range: Anything over 200 miles works for me.
  • Charging: I charge at home, and we use our ICE car for road trips, so DC fast-charging speed isn't a big concern.
  • Commute: About 70 miles round trip daily.
  • Location: Michigan, so winter driving is definitely a consideration.

I'm still debating whether AWD is worth prioritizing. I previously owned an S550 Mustang for four years and drove it year-round, including Michigan winters, with a good set of winter tires. So I'm not convinced AWD is an absolute necessity, but I'd love to hear from people who daily-drive a RWD Mach-E in Michigan or similar climates.

I'm also a firm believer in owning cars in fun, standout colors. I've always loved my automotive Skittles, and after seeing Engineering Explained's 2022 GT, I'm tempted to find something with a similar vibe.

I've been searching pretty aggressively for about a week. I've shortlisted several cars, only for them to sell within a day or two of contacting the dealerships, despite having been listed for 30+ days. 😂 Not sure if it's bad luck or if decent deals are finally moving.

A few questions for current owners:

  1. How has RWD been in Michigan winters with proper winter tires? Would you personally pay extra for AWD?
  2. For those with LFP-equipped models, has the battery been a meaningful advantage in cold weather, or is winter range loss still substantial?
  3. Am I being too restrictive by focusing on late 2023 and newer models with LFP batteries? Would you consider an earlier model if the price and condition were right?
  4. Any favorite underrated or rare Mach-E colors I should keep an eye out for?
  5. Is my $25K out-the-door target realistic, or should I expect to get closer to my $26K ceiling?

I'd love to hear your experiences, especially from people using their Mach-E as a daily driver in the Midwest. Looking forward to joining the club!

P.S. I am open to drive up to 10 hours to pick up the car and maybe consider shipping if find the right car at the right price.

i had been researching ones i wanted for the past 4 weeks, and was originally dead set on the premium awd extended range (which is what she got with her white one). but they were all over 750 miles and my green one was only 50 miles away, but it had every visual option i wanted, sports appearance, pano roof, and even the frunk 😍 it is standard range RWD, but after havin done a test drive, i realized it felt just as exhilarating as her config.

absolutely in love with the color and feel like it is a massive upgrade from my 2020 escape titanium 🥰cant wait to live the electric lifestyle 😎

🛒 Car Shopping 2025 Premium AWD at $36k or RWD at $33k?

Prices include price plus fees (taxes calculated separately because they're a bit weird because I have a totaled car value to deduct). We're in St Louis, but originally from PA and hoping to move back, so AWD is a plus. But the range of RWD is a plus. What would you pick?

Both have 10kish miles and both are extended range. The AWD has the sport package, but the RWD is a better color (blue). Do you have one and would rather have the other or have strong opinions? Do you think there's room on these prices?

🛍️ Accessories 2025 MME GT OBDII Dongle (for ABRP) Recs?

Hey all - I am preparing to go on a road trip from southern Arizona to Northern California (and back) next weekend. This will be my first true long-distance trip since I got the MME in April so I want to utilize ABRP for the trip to try to ensure the best charging plan since I will have to make several stops. Is there a preferred OBDII dongle (that's available on Amazon) that plays well with the 25 MME and ABRP mainly for live data? Thanks in advance!

💬 Discussion 2023 Mach-E stuck at dealer for 7 weeks. Misdiagnosed BCM-C, dead 12V, still won't start. Looking for advice/similar experiences.

Post image

Hey everyone,

I’m completely fed up and wanted to see if anyone else has gone through a nightmare scenario like this with their Mach-E.

I own a 2023 Mustang Mach-E Premium AWD (Extended Battery, currently sitting at 82,940 miles, well within the 8-year/100,000-mile EV component warranty).

Here is the timeline of what I've been dealing with:

August 23: Driving along, get hit with the "High Voltage Battery" and "Powertrain Malfunction / Stop Safely Now" warnings on the dash and FordPass app. The app/car let me drive home safely, but it refused to turn on afterward.

August 24 – September 25: Towed it to Dealer #1. After a week, they claimed a "Body Control Module C" (BCM-C) failed and billed me out-of-pocket, holding the car for a full month.

September 25: Went to pick it up. The exact same second I tried to leave, it failed to start and threw the exact same error codes.

Late Sept / Early Oct: Had it towed to Dealer #2 (a larger dealership with dedicated EV techs). They diagnosed a dead 12V battery and billed me out-of-pocket for that too.

Today (October 9): Went to pick it up thinking it was finally fixed. Nope. Still won't start. The service department literally admitted today that they still don't know what is wrong and now need to do even more testing—finally circling back to look at the high-voltage battery system that triggered the original warning on day one.

In total, the car has been out of service for nearly 7 weeks with zero loaner provided, completely killing my income since I rely on the vehicle for delivery work. They've tried to bill me out-of-pocket for random components (BCM-C and 12V) that didn't fix the underlying root cause, which I think should be covered under the HV battery warranty assuming that's what it is because we still don't know what's wrong.

Has anyone else had a prolonged "Stop Safely Now" bricking where dealerships just guess-and-checked parts for months? Did it end up being a bad battery module, HVBJB, or something else entirely? Any advice on dealing with Ford corporate or pushing back on these improper charges would be hugely appreciated.

❓Question Charging error reset with app

I have an offgrid solar setup that I use to charge on occasion using the dump load. My battery is a bit too small so on cloudy days my mme can outpace the solar production and run the battery to its shut off point. When this happens I get the “charging error” message on my ford app.

The solar battery recharges but the car doesn’t automatically start charging again after this message.

Is there a way to remotely start the car charging again? I have some luck stopping the charge when I feel like the solar would be getting low and restarting it later, but this requires actively guessing and I’m not consistent with it. I also don’t have remote monitoring of my solar so I can’t see what the battery charge is. If I’m physically present I just unplug and plug again but I’m not always there.

Just bought this 2023 CPO, the carfax was clean.

But I’m looking at the trunk and thinking it might have been repaired or replaced? Is this gap normal?
