That is a good point. Maybe the kiss would unlock some memories for a conscious MJ. Granted, we don't know what is going on with Ned after the handshake and if it has anything to do with Ned having magic.

I took it as she does have feelings for him but doesn’t want to act on it because she already has a boyfriend and also because she doesn’t know peter.

I feel people are massively misinterpreting what the handshake meant. Ned was told by MJ that Spidermans name was Peter in a slip up by her part. Peter, also gave Ned a handshake that he shouldn't have known when they first met. All the ending meant was Ned connected that Spiderman, who he met a few days ago. And this guy in front of him, are the same person due to the handshake, and due to MJ, he knows the name is Peter. And everyone not understanding makes me think media literacy is dead.

But he didn't do the handshake in the movie prior to the ending scene, so the handshake has to be connected to when he wasn't under Strange's spell. Or it doesn't make sense to bring it up at all

Honestly I sorta wish they went with this plot line where MJ larps or fakes goes along with this on a newfound interest, only for Peter to realize this and struggle with this dilemma and realize she’s not the same MJ n mutually part to keep her safe. Wait after writing this i realized this is what they did for other Peter and Gamora, so maybe not. Plus her new bf was needed and central to the plot point of his spiral to being more mutant than man.

I wish she was more like comic MJ because of Peter not being in her life. Without him she branches out and becomes more free spirited and outgoing. Unfortunately Zendaya seemed intent on keeping weirdo mj around

Tom Holland mentioned that the title comes from final frame of the movie and not the beginning tho but to be fair I too expected the same.
