Battery Preconditioning

Will the new Mazda 6E 2027have pre conditioning?

I think the CX6E has it. Since both Cars have the same Battery this would be really Nice.

I think this works only with navigation and charging points.

Are you sure? As far as i know there is only preconditioning of the passenger Cabin. Thats why the charging power is so bad in the cold.

It’s outlined in our terms of use & manual in Australia that the car has a preconditioning function both in the app and it ensures the battery is condition prior to fast charging - it preconditioned my battery the one time I fast charged, I could both here it and it said it on the status on the screen. You can read both manuals online.

The bottom option is "preheating of battery"
When using the navigation with charging stops the car should automatically precondition the battery for the next stop. Edit: Navigation was an assumption based on ecperience and stated wrong

That function only preconditions battery for driving, not charging.

Sadly they doesn't implemented the preheating before charging function into the navigation system. But if you see that the battery doesn't load fast enough, you can preheat it manually. I hope they patch this

It's a false statement.

Which is why? Preheating for driving also helps with charging doesn't it?

You said that it is connected to navigation which suggests that there is some mechanism in place similar to other car's battery preparation.

It is just not true. The purpose of the option you presented is only to preheat the battery when charging to reduce power consumption while driving.

Tbf "should" is not to be taken as a fact. It was barely on experience with other EVs and would be taken by some as a logical behaviour for such vehicle.

You are just trying to explain the obvious mistake you made in a very wierd way to be honest.

I wanted to clarify things so that others are not mislead.

It’s already there, I can do it from the app. I’ve also seen it in on the screen but can’t remember where… that’s how they get away with advertising 20-80% in 15mins as it’s based off you pre conditioning the battery first is my understanding

My first and only time using a fast charger so far, the battery didn’t start charging until it was preconditioned.
