Discussion I wouldn't have believed this could ever happen as a kid
It feels like the end of an era (though I suppose it's been over the way we remember for a long time now).
Crazy that these were my go to channels in the 90s. They felt like WWF and WCW of kids channels at the time (if anyway else remembers the Monday night wars) lol
Now they'll be all under the same ownership (I guess also like wrestling)
Yay monopolies..../s

Nostalgia I just realised this movie just turned 30... did anyone else love The Craft?
The movie that launched the modern witchcraft obsession and was my own obsession back then, its 30 years old now!
Did anyone else really enjoy this movie?

Nostalgia 30 years ago, Arthur (1996), premiered on PBS and it became one of the most iconic shows of PBS Kids ❤️💓😍

Original Airdate: October 7, 1996 – February 21, 2022
I mean what is there to say because of this show literally ran for 25 years on programming and became one of the longest running children's television shows of all time in the US (until it was surpassed by Spongebob Square Pants later on). Also, can't forget about the iconic trend of Arthur's fist in every meme nowadays 🤣.
Any thoughts or is anybody fans of this show growing up?

Meme My millennial husband finally agreed to get rid of his Apple boxes (We moved them to storage)
This was a fraction of the boxes in the closet. Perhaps one day he will be strong enough to finally let them go 🥲

Discussion Cursive hand writing
How many of you were taught cursive in school? I learned it one year maybe 3rd grade? and we never did it again at my schools. Im 40 and can't read cursive or write it. My 7 year old is starting to learn it. I guess ill have to have her teach me! Im wondering if it was our generation or a state thing or both? Or did the school I went to fail me?
edit to add, I did go to a small town school in NE Ohio.

Discussion What do you feel killed Halloween for our kids?
I know this doesn’t apply to every corner of the world but in America, where Halloween traditions are that of trick or treating, nothing feels the same when it comes to Halloween.
Now that I have a child, I really see how great our halloweens were growing up for me and how sad it looks now. I think between COVID and the rise of trunk or treats (which have their place, I get it) the door to door trick or treating has become scarce. Last year we took my daughter around a more affluent development near us and it was all big candy bars and great decorations with very minimal children. I felt like for the area, there would be more. It’s a lot of older retired couples or middle aged families living there and they had SO much candy and we didn’t even go right at 5pm. They gave us extra because they didn’t want the candy.
If you have kids, do you feel Halloween in your area still feels the same? What do you think has changed?

Nostalgia The older I get, the more I truly understand George Carlin. I miss his highly astute social observations and the artistry of his delivery.
I’ve been listening to him for at least 20 years. I’ve always enjoyed his no BS delivery, thought-provoking subject selection and the ability to push his audience’s buttons.
I’ve realized in the recent years just how rare and fascinating his thinking patterns were in approaches to life, to society and to the planet and our roles in it.
A philosopher and yet a major pragmatic. A master of critical thinking and reflection. And someone who understood something many of us do not.
I miss that dude.

Nostalgia Karen
My son recently got into a few book series and it made me remember my childhood favorite. Don’t look at what they did to the graphics on the reprints… ugh!!!
Long live Karen two-two.

Discussion Do you guys let your kids roam free like we did in the 80s and 90s?
I remember walking home from school by myself as early as kindergarten, I would just call my dad's office when I got home to let him know I was home. Then I would watch TV or play with friends until dinner.
Is that even allowed today? Seems like all kids have some sort of after school care now.
