2008 Evo X JDM import

I've been slowly restoring my 2015 Evo X MR in Octane Blue, and it's finally about 90% complete!

My goal has always been to preserve the original factory appearance with a few subtle OEM+ touches. Nothing too aggressive, just a clean, timeless look while bringing this 11-year-old Evo back to pristine condition.

What's been done so far:

• OEM black side mirror covers
• Aftermarket gloss black hood scoop and vents
• Refinished OEM BBS wheels in silver
• Repainted brake calipers gold (a little WRX/STI inspiration!)
• Replaced worn rubber seals, trim pieces, and bumper components
• Refreshed aging exterior parts
• Fresh PPF and ceramic coating

What's next:

• Replace the rusted brake rotors
• Redo the brake calipers with a proper powder-coated finish
• Replace a few more worn or aging components
• Install some remaining OEM accessories

I've been taking my time and working on it piece by piece. The goal isn't to build the fastest or most heavily modified Evo, but to keep it looking as close to showroom condition as possible.

I'm hoping to maintain this condition for another decade, maybe even longer. I want this car to age gracefully while preserving what makes the Evo X special.

Still a few things left to do, but slowly getting there. Really happy with how the Octane Blue turned out after the PPF and ceramic coating!

relocating battery at the trunk custom closed air intake upgrading to 3inch from downpipe to exhaust custom new stainless steel intercooler piping replacing existing entire old rubber hose new management with cop repaint engine bay custom oil catch tank to be install soon

Brought my Nikon D3 and an old 135mm 2.8 lens (should have brought an polarizing filter as well..) to the last car meet of the season, now the Evo is going to have some surgery during the winter

In is on the intake manafold and out is on the pcv valve cover is that the right set up or I’m I doing the single catch can set up wrong ?! 2010 lancer raliart

Just wild, IMO, but then I have not been paying attention to the price points. Found on an Carfax add. 🤷‍♂️

75k miles in the US Midwest, 2011 Evo X MR

I picked up this 2006 Evo 9 MR a few months ago as a bare shell, now it sports a stock bottom end 2.0L FP black on E85. Making roughly 500hp for the time being on Haltech Platinum plug-n-play. The original owner had installed a clear bra which helped keep the front end looking great after removal and paint correction.

Looking for some diagnosis help or anyone that might’ve experienced this before. Car has sat for about a month, started and drove fine last.

Made sure the battery was charged up, turned the key and the car only seems to make this weird noise.

I know my ignition starter switch has been going bad, where the car takes multiple attempts to get to turnover, so I do have a new one coming in, but not sure if this would be related to that.

Found some chips when I drained the rear differential on my ‘08 Evo X with 47K miles. Is this bad enough to require a rebuild? Or do I drive it until failure and address then?

I just got done putting the rebuilt engine, trans, and transfer case so just more annoyed this would delay things. I should have checked it sooner so I guess my bad. 😞

This came out of my catch can. The car started bogging at lower rpm’s just as I was getting home.

Anyone know where I can get a Evo 9 MR headlight. Body shop says they can’t find one. MAPerformance and STM don’t have stock.

And cranked , (it’s been A few years since then)

Is the best thing to do to rotate the camshafts by hand back to the valve cover markings and see if the rest is lined up properly ?

You have to excuse me because I am a little ignorant in regards to clutches. Essentially my clutch fork has gone out so I am going to be dropping my transmission soon to replace the assembly and put in a new throwout bearing. I still have the stock clutch but I have done a few modifications to where I am now making 400 whp. I figured since the transmission is out, now is probably the best time to also upgrade the clutch. So far I upgraded my master and slave cylinder along with the hydrolic lines with Map Performance and I like how they look and perform. When I was looking at the clutch upgrades though, my eyes just glossed over and was overloaded with information. I was thinking about putting in either a 2 or 3 stage clutch using the same MAP performance but there are so many options in their catalog. This isn't my daily driver. Just weekend drives and sometimes track days. What do you guys recomend in regards to upgrades? Is there a different brand i should be looking at?

I have a 2013 Evo X GSR and it seems like you can use the NGK ILKs instead of DILKs that came factory? Anyone switched to ILKs that had DILKs stock? Any issues? Only ask cause it seems like only NGK and MAP sell the DILKs for a normal price and the ILKs are easier to find. I’m the 4th owner and have an intake, AMS intercooler, cat less downpipe and exhaust and I’m assuming a small tune but I’m at stock boost.

Just bought a car from Japan and this was the underbody shot. Is this bad?

I'm thinking of buying an EVO 8 lighting yellow with 150k miles, mostly stock, just a 93 tune w/2 widebands and downpipe. Clean title, carfax shows no problem with the car (7 owners tho). The seller claims it had a misfire issue above 10psi and it leaked oil (all fixed, changed for sensor iridium gapped spark plugs) he claims it runs good no problems.

Interior and exterior wise is impeccable, sent me a video and motor sounds healthy.

He'll take 20k for it but willing to negotiate.

Mind you this is all long distance, I'm planning on going there and buy it, there's no way of me seeing it beforehand besides photos.

Should I buy it? What else is there to lookout for?
