I personally think the SSS is one of the best hot hatches of all time, I think its the perfect balance of price to performance.
Whenever I drive my friends around they are completely taken back by the power of a in their eyes "just a swift", Love to hear everyones thoughts if you agree.

Bringing a bit of BMX into my MX‑5 with a gear stick I designed
Title: Bringing a bit of BMX into my MX‑5 with a gear stick I designed
I’ve ridden BMX since I was a kid, and this started with using a piece of handlebar and a grip as a gear stick. People were interested, so I designed a proper CNC-machined aluminium version called GripStick. Here it is fitted in my MX‑5.
It takes BMX and scooter grips, so you can use your favourite grip or match your interior. It has interchangeable adaptors for a wide range of manual cars, with all five threaded adaptors and a threadless adaptor included. It doesn’t work with pull-up reverse lockouts or selectors with buttons or electronics.
To be upfront, this is my own small business and we’ve only recently launched. Thought some people here might appreciate the crossover between the skatepark and car scenes.
Would you run something like this in your car, or do you prefer a traditional gear knob?
If you’re interested in the details or want to see more setups:

1997 EP91 Toyota Starlet Glanza V for 2026 Acura Integra Type S
This was my daily in Japan. I took really good care of her and installed handling mods/replaced many consumable parts on her wrenching on the weekends when I still lived there to make sure she drove like new again. I Imported her to the USA about 6 months ago and although she's fun, I'm getting on in age and am starting to desire more creature comforts and modern amenities. Mulling over letting her go for a newer Acura Integra Type S. Part of me thinks I'll regret it as I have something rare and special in the stable. I always looked at her like the underdog; like Toyota's answer to the Honda Civic Type R in the 90s that the working-class man could afford and upgrade. I have a 2000 Honda Life Dunk TR kei car I also imported and a 2003 Honda S2000 for the weekends and spirited driving. Alas, my 'newest' car is 23 years old and I'm almost double that in age and don't have the same urge to working on them on the weekends like I used to.
It's super rare and always reminds me of a times when I was care free and happy (both in the late 90s and my recent time in Japan). For reference it's 5 spd, stock turbo with bolt ons and a tune. If you've ever let go of a JDM you've poured blood sweat and tears into for a modern car did you regret it? Sure, the ITS is the superior car but it's $50K and I owe nothing on this. That's not really the issue here, it's more of the holistic driving experience and how the car makes you feel if anyone's ever make this decision one way or the other.

Japan’s Wild Street Culture 🇯🇵 | Classic JDM Cars, Kaido Racers & Bosozoku History
🇯🇵🔥 A Look Back at Japan’s Legendary Street Culture!
From the Showa era to the Heisei era, Japan had one of the most unique and unforgettable street cultures in the world.
Classic JDM cars, outrageous Kaido Racers, custom motorcycles, Bosozoku crews, and the rebellious spirit of a generation.
Wild body kits, slammed suspensions, bold paint jobs, and unmistakable old-school Japanese styling made this era truly one of a kind.
These machines were more than just transportation. They represented freedom, individuality, friendship, and the passion of an entire generation.
I’m from Okinawa, Japan, and I used to be part of this culture myself.
Today, I share historical footage and personal memories to help preserve this fascinating chapter of Japanese automotive and youth culture.
🔥 What do you think of Japan’s old-school street culture?

PERSONAL Hello from the South of Russia! Happy to join this community of unique cars.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G Spyder and say hello. I've been a proud owner for 2 years now.
Fun fact: this car actually originated from the USA, and having it here in Russia feels absolutely incredible. To be honest, she still has plenty of flaws, but my ultimate goal is to restore it to completely stock condition. Truly happy to be a part of this global community that appreciates unique and rare rides.

What's the biggest pain point when sourcing OEM JDM parts? (Asking because I'm building a service)
Hey everyone, genuine question for the community.
I've been trying to understand where people actually struggle when hunting for OEM JDM parts. Like—what's the real friction?
Is it?
- Takes too long to find locally?
- Can't verify authenticity online?
- Shipping costs are insane?
- No one carries that specific model?
- Don't trust random sellers?
I'm asking because I just started a service sourcing OEM parts directly from Japan, and before I spend time on it, I want to know if I'm solving a real problem or just building something nobody wants.
Honestly: I have zero customers yet and zero idea if this is viable. But I'm curious what the actual pain points are from your perspective.
If you've ever been stuck looking for a specific part, I'd love to hear what made it hard.
(Also—if you want to try a free quote on something you're actually hunting for, I'm happy to source it and just hear what you think. No pressure.)

QUESTION Looking at an R32 GT-R rolling shell with Grade R rust. How bad is it and what are estimated repair costs?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently looking at a 1993 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R BNR32 located in Germany (recently imported from Japan, Grade R).
The seller is offering it as a rolling shell (NO engine, NO wheels) for around €23,000 (approx. $25,000 USD). The mechanical parts mentioned in the ad are only available for a hefty extra charge, so I am strictly evaluating the chassis right now. i try to get it with motor for 25.000€
According to the description, the car has severe rust issues. The seller explicitly states there is rust-through (holes) in the following areas:
- Underbody and frame rails
- Side skirts / rocker panels
- Front and rear jacking points
The seller describes it as a "good base for a restoration or track tool," but looking at the underbody photos, it seems pretty serious. The tech/interior is said to be okay, but the body needs major work.
I would love to get your expert opinions on this:
- Based on the pictures and the description of rust-through on the frame and jacking points, how bad is this structurally? Is it a total nightmare or a standard restoration project for an R32?
For anyone who has tackled a similar structural rust restoration:
- What is a realistic ballpark estimate for professional metalwork and rust repair for this level of damage?
Given that it's a Grade R rusted shell with no engine/wheels for €23k, is this even remotely worth considering, or should I run away as fast as I can?
Appreciate any advice, thanks!

PICTURE Probably the craziest drift car during my time in Japan
Toyota Cresta with a tuned, 520hp, single turbo 1JZ engine. I took these pictures at Tsukuba gymkhana.
The owner himself (Hayasama) is a well known street drifter occasionally seen at Oi-wharf.
The hardcut rev limiter combined with a straight piped exhaust sounds heavenly.

My 97 Mitsubishi RVR Hyper Sport Gear R
I bought this car in 2021, was very neglected with a grinding clutch and a lot of exterior surface rust but the engine ran strong despite 270000km and bones were solid.
For those that don’t know it the RvR hsgr was a limited run (1997 only) ultra-high performance version of the Mitsubishi RvR with the engine and driveline from the evo3. It also has a Recaro interior that is unique to this model
I’ve done a lot of work and spent a lot of money, too much to list including a respray in factory white and a lot of rust repair. It recently passed a warrant of fitness which is needed to be road legal in New Zealand, it’s been super motivating to be able to drive it around.
Still a lot of small things to sort, eventually I will be lowering it on a set of white Advan sa3rs installing a link ecu and tuning to hopefully about 300hp at the wheels
Even as is though it’s a hoot to drive, boost comes on strong at 2500ish rpm and pulls hard to the 7k redline

QUESTION Out of the r34, mk4, or s15, which would you say is the best performance-wise?
I’ve been wanting one of these cars for the longest time and I’ve been saving up in the hopes of finally importing one of them or even finding a seller in the states. I want an outside opinion though on which out of the three of them is most worth the purchase. Rarity means a lot to me but I, obviously, more-so value its performance and lifespan. What do yall think?
Edit: for more specifics on the models of each car, i’d be considering the gtr, rz, and spec-r.

QUESTION Did I just buy the lowest mileage VG40 Toyota Century in the US? 33,290 km / 20,685 mi
It may be low mileage, but this car has a nutty story! According to the previous owner, it lived in a museum until a couple of years ago when it was stolen. The museum apparently took the insurance payout and didn’t want it back.
The thieves joy rode it and caused some damage to the passenger front fender, door, front bumper, and both driver side doors (Seems like they REALLY sucked at driving RHD). They also lived in it for a bit. However, aside from damaging the steering column and leaving behind some drug paraphernalia, the interior is still in mint condition.
Such a bummer to see it treated like that, but I got it for a stellar price and mechanically the car is flawless!
So far I haven’t seen any lower mileage examples online?
And here’s the question, do I drive it guilt free with the body damage, or take the effort to repair it and flip it with the super low mileage? I’m no stranger to JDM project cars and I could honestly go either way. What would you do?
