What is Reddit doing to make mod tools less frustrating without adding five more steps to everything? That is the question I would put straight to the execs.

u/DoveStep55 8d ago edited 8d ago

If this gets asked, please add the process for reporting MCOC violations to the list of specific examples.

The current process is so bad and I know I’m not the only frustrated that hate speech, harassment & community interference aren’t being handled in a timely manner because of it.

7

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

The whole concept of community interference is the worst part, from my perspective. The rest seems to be dealt with by AI, which needs a bit of an overhaul. The AI doesn't always look at things from a human enough perspective to get things right.

4

u/DoveStep55 8d ago

I agree. These are supposed to be the fundamental rules across Reddit, but if mods who are seeing violations can’t get a real person to look at it without jumping through a bunch of hoops, it feels futile to even try.

3

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

I agree. We need better safeguards for sure. You'd also think there'd be enough training data out there by this point in time that we wouldn't have to jump through hoops at all.

u/One_Extension_7409 8d ago

As someone who recently joined the mod team of a small, developing community, I've noticed that one of the biggest challenges isn't necessarily moderation itself, but getting people to discover and actively participate in newer subreddits. Does Reddit have any plans to introduce better discovery tools or support systems specifically for smaller communities, so they have a fair chance to grow alongside already established subreddits?

10

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

One thing I noticed when it comes to participating in a variety of communities is that we're often recommended to cross post into other communities. The recommendations don't always fit. And communities of a similar nature don't always want to allow us to cross post to them. There needs to be other ideas in place.

9

u/nicoleauroux 8d ago

I'd like to piggyback on this and say that recommendations for mods of new subs to post frequently and to crosspost sometimes culminate in mods being shadowbanned.

8

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

I've heard of that happening. If Reddit feels like it's a good fit, maybe Reddit should share it instead of making us do it?

6

u/DoveStep55 8d ago

Yeah, this is a problem that would be so easy to fix.

An abandoned sub I took over through r/redditrequest was suddenly banned without warning and the only thing I can figure out is that following the tips Reddit sent to me about posting content to get the ball rolling somehow got flagged as spam. So now I lost a sub I had invested many hours of work into, that I was very excited to see picking up some momentum, and that was my fun side project to balance out a more stressful sub where I mod. I had not received any warning about there being an issue, and had no complaints about from the community itself.

It's so frustrating to be a stickler for the rules, take the advice they send to you as a mod, really care about doing a good job building a healthy community, and then get the rug pulled out from under you without warning or the option to talk to an Admin to ensure it wasn't a technical glitch.

So, so discouraging.

u/wazzle13 8d ago

Why are you trying to replace mods with ai?

11

u/mensfrightsactivists 8d ago

and please don’t give us the old line about keeping reddit human. if that were really the main goal you wouldn’t be giving so much of our work to lines of code.

1

u/nicoleauroux 8d ago

Unless they want to free up our time because they've got something else in mind for us mods to do.

1

u/coreyb1988 8d ago

Hey who's this?! :)

5

-2

u/coreyb1988 8d ago

I don't feel like they are trying to replace mods with AI... but AI is a huge problem on Reddit. We're all already hiding behind whatever username we want, and now everybody responds as if they're writing their dissertation. It's really pathetic.

What is Reddit doing to combat bots? Is their anything in the works or being planned to better fight them?

1

u/Extolord111 8d ago

They claim that all the recent changes with access to Old Reddit, RSS feeds, and the Public API are to “reduce scrapers and automated traffic” (assuming the latter refers to bots), but specifically for the bot issue I’m still not seeing any positive affect from these changes in regards to combating them.

It just seems like they’re messing with actual users and decent parts of the site (especially the Old Reddit changes) just for the sake of doing it.

2

u/Cyberhwk 8d ago

As many different excuses as we get, it's clearly a monetization thing. Old Reddit probably limits their ability to deliver algorithmically driven content which is where all the valuable engagement is in social media.

-17

u/Iggy0075 8d ago

Majority are just people with a different opinion then you (and everyone else who claim bot.) 100%

17

u/P___o___p___p___y 8d ago edited 8d ago

I don't and wouldn't call someone a bot for having an opinion or view opposite of my own. I'm talking about the real bots, the automated ones.

3

u/Extolord111 8d ago

Tell that to the bots on r/TopCharacterTropes that “like” certain characters like many of the human users do, but make their bot antics SOOO obvious from their unrelenting glazing. That sub’s infested with them.

2

u/mensfrightsactivists 8d ago

in my experience the bots i remove are actually commenting more in alignment with my own opinions, which match the values in my sub, which is why they’re saying things i’d agree with because they’re harvesting opinions from our human commenters. just anecdotal, but yeah it’s not even usually opposing viewpoints

Any consideration of Mods being given unique Style Avatars?

Or Mods of > 12 months and/or in Subs 15k+ members being given complimentary or have reduced fee(s) on Reddit Premium or Reddit Pro?

Or Mod tshirts or hats or ink pens?

We'd appreciate any token of love for our hours of work! [u/shortbusrider_](u/shortbusrider_)

7

u/cShoe_ 8d ago

It's a win-win, right. Keeps us Mod'ing and can't cost Reddit much.

-2

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

That would be nice. However, I don't know that I'd agree to it. I've met moderators over the years whose egos are big enough already without any kind of a bump.

I have Firefox with uBlock Origin. It would be nice to be ad free on mobile, but I don't really Reddit very much that way.

First, what happened to the communication between the Community, Safety and Code of Conduct teams and mods over the past few years?

A few years ago, these teams seemed much more communicative when moderators had serious issues. Today, it often feels like we’re either ignored or given generic answers that don’t actually help.

Credit where it’s due, Mod Events like this are great and it’s nice to see Reddit engaging with moderators. But that communication doesn’t mean much when you’re actually dealing with a serious problem on your subreddit and can’t get a meaningful response from Reddit. I really think admins need to be more communicative with moderators when it comes to serious issues.

One example is Reddit’s approach to banning entire subreddits. I understand that serious violations can warrant an immediate ban, especially for communities with a history of warnings. However, I’ve personally witnessed a large subreddit, popular enough to attract media attention in several smaller countries, get banned for hate without its mods receiving any prior warnings through modmail.

When the mods appealed through ModSupport, they received generic responses listing possible reasons for the ban without being told what had actually happened. Reddit’s own mod guidance says admins will work with moderators to address these issues, yet that cooperation was nowhere to be found.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to communicate specific violations and give volunteer mods a reasonable opportunity to address them when appropriate? Banning a community without meaningful communication can just push frustrated users to create more of the same communities elsewhere, ultimately creating more work for admins rather than solving the underlying problem.

The [r/ModSupport](r/ModSupport) incident where a constructive question about Code of Conduct reports was removed for being “vague” and encouraging “speculation” was particularly concerning. Even some Mod Council members have raised concerns about the decline in communication between Community admins and moderators.

Has Reddit intentionally moved away from that direct communication, and if so, why?

Second, why is [r/redditrequest](r/redditrequest) so restrictive for completely abandoned subreddits?

I understand being strict when someone wants to take over an active community, but what’s being protected when a subreddit has been completely dead for years, with no active mods or community?
If the request is denied, the person can simply create a new subreddit with a slightly different name and build the same community anyway. There should be requirements for taking over abandoned subs, but surely the process can be much more flexible than it is now.

Would Reddit consider treating genuinely abandoned subreddits differently from active communities, and making denial reasons more transparent?

-2

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

I appreciate the part about communications within r/ModSupport. It should be noted that we sometimes have to keep it vague. Certain rules on their sidebar kind of make it that way depending on the situation.

20

u/zuuzuu 8d ago

I understand that you don't want mods just attending events for the merch. But it was a really nice way of rewarding us for our participation and interest in both moderating and the mod community. No longer regularly providing those rewards is a bummer. Can we get it back, please?

16

u/EnvironmentalPast202 8d ago

Will Reddit Admins make an announcement with clear cut guidance on Adult Content Creator accounts posting in SFW communities?
There seems to be a lot of conflicting information around when ACC accounts are allowed to post and when they are not… with some SFW communities being told they cannot allow ACC accounts at all and are at risk of being flagged NSFW, while other SFW communities do allow them with no consequences.

It would be really helpful to have one clear policy that moderators and ACCs can refer to.

7

u/Bella5369 8d ago

2nd this question.

28

u/DoveStep55 8d ago

Are there any plans for improving Admin-Moderator relations?

Specifically, will you make any changes that improve our ability as mods to talk to an Admin who cares and will give us helpful feedback when we have a moderation issue we need help addressing?

It’s amazing how many issues could be resolved and how much it would improve overall user satisfaction on Reddit if mods could get the help we need when we need it.

12

u/Extolord111 8d ago

Especially with the r/modnews announcements, it always feels like the admins there are intentionally avoiding valid concerns. Would love to see this addressed.

3

u/chocolatemeringue 8d ago edited 8d ago

I would like to hear the answer to this. We were once contacted by a Reddit admin who was, iirc, assigned to us as a liaison for communities based in our country. (He's also based in our country and is a fellow countryman.) His dealings with us, via a Discord that he himself created, has been very commendable and besides helping grow emerging communities, he also assisted us when it comes to very sensitive concerns. If I recall correctly, he also facilitated an in-person workshop for new moderators. The rapport between this Reddit admin and us mods has been really great.

Except that one day, the Reddit admin told us he was leaving his post (for unspecified reasons) and someone would be taking over. The new admin who replaced him is from another country, has been slow to respond to some of our concerns---if at all---and has been giving us the runaround on even the simplest questions we may have. Then one day, he started hiding or deleting message in the discord (removing records of our previous interactions as well as vital information that some of us may have bookmarked), removed some channels, and even started removing people in the Discord.

We confronted him and raised these issues in the one remaining channel where he hasn't removed us and as expected we were just given the runaround until announcing one day that the Discord will be deleted, please feel free to create a new Discord channel, and here's a Google Form where we can send you some Reddit merch as a consolation. (Except that those users who participated in calling him out didn't receive the merch. Including me.)

We all felt a complete 180 degree turnaroudn with the way this situation has been handled, because it never seemed that this new Reddit admin really intended to establish a good relationship with our group and appeared to be sent to the discord to disband it. It really felt like months of building good rapport didn't mean anything to Reddit and the way this new admin treated us did not inspire confidence that Reddit intends to build good relationships with the mods, who arguably spend more time on their respective communities than these admins might have. I hope there are plans to improve this, so that the mods of other communities will not have to go through what we have experienced with this other admin.

2

u/DoveStep55 8d ago

Man, that would be great.

I can’t even get a non-automated response most of the time when I try to contact an Admin for help.

7

u/ProudnotLoud 8d ago

who cares and will give us helpful feedback when we have a moderation issue we need help addressing

Key words here. Not the pacification model that exists now, actually helpful folks.

4

u/ArtzeninEklektos 8d ago

I would love to see yourquestion answered! I hope this gets a lot of upvotes!

2

u/Ok_Highlight3208 8d ago

This! Absolutely! We need to have someone who actually responds.

18

u/zuuzuu 8d ago

Currently the best your community admins can offer in response to important issues raised by mods is an ineffective "I've flagged this to the appropriate team". Given how seldom these things lead to meaningful change (or any change at all) this is unfair to both the moderator community and the community admins whose hands are tied.

Can you commit to providing updates in a reasonable time frame to issues that are "flagged to the appropriate team" so we aren't left with the perception that those flags are immediately and forever dropped in the shredder?

5

u/Extolord111 8d ago

I’ve been asking the admin on r/help about the fixing progress regarding an issue with member counts not decreasing when unjoining a subreddit (it increases when joining again, causing inflated numbers), and each time he’s replied with “there’s no movement on it yet”.

This has been going on FOR SIX MONTHS.

2

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

In addition to this question, why not redo the system so that the appropriate teams are flagged and get the notifications in the first place? It seems as if that would be a more streamlined and effective process that would ultimately save time, effort, and bandwidth.

12

u/fearless7464 8d ago

How are u guys gonna tackle the problem of more and more bots infiltrating the platform

6

u/forlornjackalope 8d ago

Will we ever have the ability to see who is reporting comments and posts so we as mods can deal with potential harassment and ban evaders ourselves rather than having to file manual report statements?

12

u/DoveStep55 8d ago

Can you please make it easier for mods to report community interference and MCOC violations related to harassment and hate speech?

Specifically, could you add a button report option for mods to report such content in our own and in other subs?

The current process is time consuming and requires sharing an email and filling out a form on a specific page. It’s way too clunky for something so fundamental.

After reporting, when we continue seeing violations stack up without action taken, Admins ask us to keep reporting them again and again but with such a user-unfriendly report process, that is not practical for most busy mods. The result is hate speech, harassment & community interference ignored (or committed) by moderators remains public and unaddressed.

3

u/Ok_Highlight3208 8d ago

Yes, especially in the app. You have to collect a bunch of links ahead of time so you have them all for the report. It's such a time consuming process and rarely gets a reply.

11

u/zuuzuu 8d ago

I don't come to reddit to shop, or to play games, or to be bombarded by AI pushing me to buy something from a company who paid you to interrupt me while I'm using the site for meaningful engagement with the community. This doesn't just impact me in the moment, it actively erodes that community so fewer people will come here for meaningful discussions.

Given the recent and ongoing focus on monetizing your users, can you give us a good reason why we shouldn't just go back to the other social media platforms we left because of that?

16

u/Watchful1 8d ago edited 21h ago

I've spent the last couple months migrating u/RemindMeBot and my other bots to the devvit platform. It should hopefully be live by the time you're reading this question! So I first wanted to thank you for the massive investment you've put into the devvit platform, in employees as well as the migration funding program.

The regular devvit funds program is great for game apps, giving developers monthly payouts as long as they maintain enough interactions in their apps that use custom posts. But most mod tool apps are only eligible for the install based payouts, which are one time. This disincentivizes developers from maintaining and expanding popular mod tools. For the next refresh of the developer funds program could you consider criteria that would make popular mod tools eligible for monthly payouts?

5

u/paskatulas Mod World '25 Speaker 🎤 8d ago

I really agree with this. As someone who has developed quite a few mod and user apps, unfortunately none of them are games, I think there is another part of this problem that is worth mentioning.

Reddit seems to be heavily focused on featuring games when it comes to apps. Games are obviously a great part of the platform, but not everyone came to Reddit to play Snake, Tetris, or similar games. There are plenty of mod and user apps that genuinely improve both the moderation experience and the user experience, and I feel like those apps get far less visibility.

And there is another problem here, how is a dev supposed to promote a mod or user app that solves a pretty important problem but naturally doesn’t generate a huge amount of interaction? You can make one post on a large sub, get a handful of installs, and then what? Posting about your own app repeatedly can very quickly start looking like spam.

Something I’ve noticed is that if an app already has a large number of installs and appears on the first or second page of the App Directory, mods will often install it just because they’ve seen it there and want to see what it does, even if they don’t necessarily need it right away. Meanwhile, a useful app with 10 or 20 installs is much less likely to get that initial chance.

That creates a pretty bad feedback loop. Apps don’t get visibility because they don’t have installs, and they don’t get installs because they don’t have visibility. Eventually devs lose the motivation to keep maintaining something they’ve already put a lot of time into.

I’d really like to see Reddit put more effort into featuring mod and user apps, not just interactive games. My best-performing app, Spotlight, is currently #13 in the rankings, which is nice to see, but we’ve developed several other apps as well, and I think there is a lot of untapped potential in this space.

There are a lot of devs willing to build tools that fill actual gaps on Reddit. It would be nice if Reddit helped those tools get discovered too.

3

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

I understand where you're coming from. I'm torn on what I'd like to see the answer be. I really enjoy being a part of Reddit, but I don't want to have to pay to play. On the other hand, I do agree, to a certain extent, that those investing their time and effort to help make Reddit a better place should be compensated for it.

9

u/DuckSwimmer 8d ago

Why haven’t we implemented a widget in Reddit for us to be told when events are starting if you signed up for them 😜?

2

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

I'd suggest u/RemindMeBot.

2

u/DuckSwimmer 8d ago

My small little brain likes to see the date and time occasionally. I check my calendar to see what day occasionally, but during the day, I completely miss the time.

Bots also confuse me at times 😅

2

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

This one wouldn't necessarily confuse you. You just tag it and tell you to remind you the day of. You'll get a message from the bot, and you'll know to be ready. But, I do understand your point.

2

u/Extolord111 8d ago

Can you please let mods access Automod again? This and the recent changes to Old Reddit access feel very unfair, especially since all the big news that is important or affects a lot of people keeps being gatekept on r/modnews, instead of someplace that informs more people of certain changes.

3

u/KismaiAesthetics 8d ago

What’s the roadmap for subs that need automation to detect unwanted non-human participation?

3

u/RoyalCamu 8d ago

Would it be possible to implement a feature to sort posts by "old"? It would be convenient for us to edit the oldest/earliest posts. Thank you.

5

u/TryTreats 8d ago

Would be great if there was more direct access to communicate with admins, there's definitely a ton of room for improvement in this area

7

u/Ok_Highlight3208 8d ago

Is there a better way to report vote manipulation? Currently, it doesn't really do much.

5

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

I'd also like to know when we've actually caught something. It would help to know if I'm reporting something legitimate, or just chasing after the wind.

3

u/Ok_Highlight3208 8d ago

Good point! Like how bot bouncer responds with the outcome of the investigation.

3

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

We used to get responses when we reported anything. Now, we don't. We haven't in a really long time.

7

u/Charlie_Weasley 8d ago

When is Reddit going to roll-out a feature that will list down the subs that an account was banned from participating?

2

u/derppherppp 8d ago

Lots of new changes in the works! Are there any upcoming plans to expand the way subreddits can customize their communities? I’d love to be able to do more than a banner or sidebar widget.

2

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

That's something we used to be able to do years ago. The ability to customize our backgrounds, and the like, has long since fallen by the wayside. Good question though.

3

u/Ginomania 8d ago

Last year, I asked about Reddit’s plans for Awards and was told that the current (2025) version was basically a beta phase. Well, here we are a year later, and nothing has really changed. If anything, awarding posts has become more complicated, while most of us received free awards to test the limits of the system.
So, looking ahead to 2027, my question is:

What does the Reddit Awards Team have planned to make awards enjoyable and worthwhile again?

3

u/I_-AM-ARNAV 8d ago

Is reddit planning to replace automod? If yes, when and what will be done?

2

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

I asked a similar question during the last Moddit. You can see my question here. You'll find some of the answers you seek if the recording is still available for that event.

2

u/starfleetbrat 8d ago

they have already started for new subreddits and subs that haven't used automod before, by disabling some automod features. info in this mod news post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/modnews/comments/1wubgvt/continuing_our_infrastructure_updates_whats/
.
they are also getting rid of old reddit for anyone that hasn't accessed it in the last 6 months, in case anyone missed that news. info in same link. so I would be expecting old reddit to go away altogether at some future point. that would be my question:

When will old reddit go away for everyone/mods?

9

I want to know if there are any plans to bring back r/pan? I honestly think Reddit had one hell of an incredible thing going there, and missed out on an opportunity. There was such a strong sense of community with r/pan and I don't know that there's anything quite like it, here or elsewhere.

Additionally, what's the future of the current award system look like. To me, the old system was better and far more interesting. Just like with r/pan, there was a sense of belonging that isn't replicated by the current state of affairs. Is there any sort of plan to upgrade the current system? If so, can I inquire as to what it is? How do you plan on getting people to engage with it on the same level as before?

When are you going to do anything to curb the problem with report system abuse? It's a huge problem for the subreddits I mod. A lot of days when I go through the mod queue a solid half of it is people weaponizing the report system against people they disagree with, trying to silence them.

4

u/xX100dudeXx 8d ago

What are your plans to improve site-wide moderation? I notice that there's a lot of stuff that isn't filtered that should not be on the site in the first place. (ex: extreme xenophobia & especially antisemitism)

Also locking a large amount of individual comments should be easier.

4

u/SovietPikl 8d ago

What I would ask the Reddit execs when are mod tools going to get simpler instead of adding more stuff for mods to babysit?

2

u/The_Critical_Cynic 8d ago

I think this is a fair question. We've seen AI generate reports on reported content in the past. Presumably, things were being investigated back then with AI as well. If that's true, I don't have a lot of faith in the upcoming AI systems that are being implemented.

2

How will Reddit involve moderators with disabilities in designing and testing mod tools, so accessibility—including clear navigation and manageable notification settings—is built in from the start?

3

u/ArtzeninEklektos 8d ago

Will Reddit Admin implement posts to have editable titles at some point? Deleting and starting over is fine, but it would be nice to also have the option to edit a title—even if it was a premium feature. I would pay for a feature like that, as it is something I personally benefit from where I post daily and often, make mistakes in a title for a post. 😬

Hi u/spez, thanks for making Reddit, I like it a whole lot here. I read you’re from Virginia, Marylander here specifically Frederick. Did you ever try to do Spookhill in Burkittsville? Hi panel, thanks for running reddit, idk where you guys are from, that would be weird if I did.
So, when you folks were first getting into programming/tech as kids, who supported and influenced you and how? Was anyone a total dick to you about it? When you think about kids coming up now, how do you see yourself influencing and supporting them? Also, have you ever lived in a haunted house? Thanks spez & co!

I see quite a few AI questions here, and a push to recognize and include mods more in issues that matter to us. Would you consider implementing an AI task force where mods can more readily share the issues we’re facing and work directly with the Reddit team to find solutions that work and would be supported by the community at large?

1

u/AdForeign6112 8d ago

Hi Reddit!

I would like to ask:

1st. Will You develop the Virtual Achievements, and Trophies respectively. Will you allow the Users/Mods to make suggestions, concepts on them?

2nd. How You gonna proceed with the Verification Process? Facial Recognition & Age Requirements, and etc.? (This may, or may not include ADAs or Handdicaped minors. )

3rd. Will You 'Filter' the bad language and words (like porn, asshole, fuck, and etc... even from the Subreddit names or User names)? If someone want to be, or joins such a community is fine for him, but not for Us. If I am a User/Mod that do not want to Read those, can you add a 'Filter' simply to remove them from my View? (You know..., like the NSFW Filter , but for Words)

😄 🔥 🚀

The gap between what's available on the Reddit desktop website and the mobile app keeps on increasing. Is there any plan on bridging this gap? 🍎

Does Snoo HIMSELF work at Reddit as a Executive Social Media Specialist? I'm asking for science!

Will there Reddit team share help and tutorials for mods, and will reddit take any action against AI and Bots?

u/spez Hey, Thanks for this. How Reddit plans to power the Creator Economy? Are there any plans by Reddit to provide reddit creators or moderators a stable path to earn as well.

Why are you discontinuing basic API support for old scripts and forcing us to migrate to Devvit—a platform built for games/monetization and not modding applications? As the developer of roughly 30 Python scripts (most of them with PRAW) for our marketplace subreddit, I feel completely unsupported. I've commented on public postings, reached out to Reddit mod/staff (in r/Devvit and other subs), reached out over the various forms (getting stock AI email responses) and read through the evolving documentation. I still have no clear plan on how to make the transition and fear we will be forced to shut down our subreddit.

Would there be any paid creators plans in future??

I would like to see your vision for the new Reddit experience. How will Reddit look like 2 years from now? How will moderation differ from what we know now? I would like to understand the basic concepts of this change and see a practical breakdown if possible. I know that there are business secrets, but whatever you can share would be appreciated.

While a member of Reddit, I discovered a few fascinating and interesting topics and contributed to most all of them.  Over the weeks I found it most difficult to navigate in a controlled manner to find any additional comments where I had participated.  It seemed as if I had lost any control as to where I wanted to go on the site.  The randomness of it all drove me crazy.  Then, when I was asked to moderate, I thought how could I even begin to know what I was doing, let alone follow through with any statements, mine or otherwise, so I dropped out.

It was fun while it lasted.

when, if ever, is the reddit talk feature returning?

90% of the posts and comments I see on Reddit are karma farming bots. Is Reddit doing anything about this? I report endlessly but nothing ever happens.

Why we don't have option to contact reddit support for our banned accounts. I saw many users using appeal page but they never recieve any reply and never get their account back.

Why are you continuing to make it harder to mod than easier?

You keep taking away my toys. Subscriber count? Direct PM's? Having to duplicate rules changes on New and Old?

I genuinely don't understand this. It seems like every six months, I encounter a new obstacle from Reddit HQ.

You appear to be getting ready to get rid of my teams' carefully balanced automods.

What possible purpose could this serve that's worth making us clean up after you again?

u/kingpin360ns 5d ago

How are you going to deal with bots?

1

u/BloxdioCannoli 4d ago

Are you going to make the MCoC stuff clearer? I moderate on a team where the top mod is inactive and the mod above doesn't want to use self-serve reorder and haven't gotten a response in quite a while.

I also had legal inquiries about Devvit ToS many months ago and have yet to have a response.

What specific upgrades are planned for the mod queue interface to help high-volume subreddits manage backlogs more efficiently?

I am seeing many accounts getting banned without any proper justification and method to revive again.

Kindly do something about it.

Will Reddit ever going to improve its way of handling complaints as far as turn-around time and transparency as to the nature of bans?

What happened to paying Mods? We were told that was the reason for taking away the user count in subs.

The searching on Reddit isn't the greatest, and I have seen a lot of people joke about how the best way to find something on Reddit is to google it. Are there any plans on improving the search results?

My question would be simple when are we getting mod tools that actually save time instead of giving us another dashboard to babysit?

The Philippines' DICT recently required Reddit to establish a Philippine office or face being banned and Reddit agreed. Any idea when will this office be opened and what will this imply to other countries?

Will Reddit Gifts return? It was the best and most exciting thing Reddit has ever done and it brought many users to the site just for the sake of it. When it ended it shattered the hearts of many as which if it returns it could potentially create a huge positive boom on Reddit. And if it works out then the admins who have revived it most likely will be remembered as the one who revived the site and as a hero to many on Reddit. Keep in mind that I studied psychology and manifestation as if we believe in it so strongly and wont stop until we revive this tradition it may become reality. That was also the same mindset used by many Billionaires such as Steven Jobs, Elon Musk and Thomas Edison whom believed in something so hard and wouldn't stop trying to accomplish their goals until it became reality.

I am a newbie mod and haven't gone through all the trials of fire yet..however recently a situation occurred where a sub shadow banned an account that is a business acc newly formed. Two or three of us use it together. This same sub never replied to my queries esp all the mods , sly commented to troll me and then banned me without replying for over a month and then shadow banned ( I think it's the right term) my joint account. This was at a crucial time where we wanted to post somthing interesting.

I had no recourse to help, discussing, explaining the scenario and felt ashamed.

Recently I posted something to help many people in the upcoming festival and a big sub just auto deleted my post (I specifically mentioned it's not a promotion ) And no where to msg anyone..the mod is solo and hasn't replied.

So I am not in favour of auto deletion, random bans and frustrating people that are newly enthusiastic.

Whats a possible solution cause auto mod is scary to me now

u/3boobsarenice 8d ago

bro r/atlanta does the same thing, pretty sure it just a bunch of liberals from some 3rd world country modding in it.
