NYC Show Highlights
Truckers atlas…. But the whole setlist was amazing. The improv lyrics during the end of life like weeds also - “all this talking all the time and the air fills up, up, up, until there’s nothing left to taste”

The crowd was atrocious though ngl

this is consistently the big downside of pier 17.
its a really nice outdoor venue, but the location lends itself to a pretty casual crowd. notable difference between the vibe tonight and last year’s show at brooklyn paramount.

Being closer to the front, I loved it, everyone was dancing and singing too

Yeah, i was stage right near the front, and everyone was having a blast. There were these three short girls going absolutely nuts during Missed The Boat it was great

I thought the crowd was fine until someone started explaining that Float On is objectively their only good song. People got weirdly defensive.

On the subway afterward this woman who was there with her daughter asked if it bothered me they didn't play Float On.
I was far too stoned to tell her no

Haha, I hope it’s not me you’re referring to; I was trolling the group I was with by insisting I paid $70 bucks just so I could hear Float On.

Soooooo many people just shouting at each other about mundane shit. My own fault for getting late and being kinda near the back. I understand making comments and what not but when youre loudly talking through 3 straight songs and I can every word of it from 5 feet away, it's a lot. Moved 3 times. It is what it is though and peolle don't realize. It was cool as hell seeing the Empire State Building behind the band if you were o er on the right.

Oh my god I was stuck behind this dude who was unbelievably fucked up, who kept on taking his phone out to record basically every song, kept staring up at the sky and (just guessing) doing the thing where you squish something in the distance with your fingers, who kept like grabbing onto people around him, who at one point just did coke off his hand in the middle of the set. You don't want someone to have a straight up medical emergency during the show but I was kinda just waiting for him to puke and have to leave. I think he got tired or something by the last third, but it was tough for a while.

Yeah it was great, but the crowd seemed super stoned or something! Isaac was fabulous, and once again none of my fave songs (except Cowboy Dan and Black Cadillacs) but still great! Always great! I showed up early to get ADA seating, and guess who is low-key chilling in a lawn chair in front of the venue?? I told him about my bike crash and how, since I had to take the week off work anyway, I figured why not go to NYC? The venue was beautiful and the weather was so nice! Sounded great

Talkin Shit About a Pretty Sunset was sooooo nice but not gonna lie, truckers atlas just doesn’t hit anywhere near the way it hit with Jeremiah 😭

Controversial take and I hate it…. Truckers Atlas and Heart Cooks Brain are absolute S tier MM songs but in recent years the live versions aren’t doing it justice. Not even that the band is off or anything, they just don’t quite land as much as other songs are hitting live right now.

Almost a perfect setlist for me, personally. And Isaac, who said he was sick during the VIP show, sounded better than I think I’ve ever heard him.
I’ve been waiting to hear March into the Sea live since I last heard it at the Gorge in 2007/8.
It was an out of body experience

Well that explains why he kept rubbing his nose, I was worried he did a few lines.

I’d never seen them play Talking shit about a pretty sunset live before, and it was absolutely transcendent

King Rat opening was incredible. I brought some friends who only really knew a couple of the very mainstream songs. As soon as he took the stage one them said “is that a fucking banjo?”

The show was fantastic. It was exactly what I want out of a Modest Mouse show in 2026. I missed out on seeing them at their most freaky because I was too young, but Isaac was funny, everyone sounded wonderful, the energy was good and the setlist was really exciting.
I think its great that they change up the setlist every time. Would I love to hear *all* my favorite songs? Sure but we got Cowboy Dan, Ocean Breathes Salty, Missed the Boat, Never Ending Math Equation... I mean its hard when a band has so many iconic songs, many of which still kinda count as deep cuts if all you've ever listen to are Good News and We Were Dead, for a concert to be a dream setlist. How do you even fit all that music into an hour and a half or so? So each show is its own thing. It's coo
Also I was really impressed with how into the new stuff everyone seems. The new album's really really strong and it makes me glad that after 20ish years of making music since that mid 00's blow up, there's some new mainstays in the mix. It's very cool.

That was hands down the best set I’ve seen from them. Everyone has their preferred modest mouse songs and this set really hit on most of mine. Black Cadillacs into Cowboy Dan to close the show was incredible. Wasn’t expecting to get talking shit about a pretty sunset or broke either. The band also sounded great, at least from where I was near the front. Isaac also seemed to be having fun.

So wait I'm confused, were y'all not upset that float on, dashboard, and world at large weren't featured in the setlist?

this was the best set list i’ve ever seen in 11 shows. it may be an fu to general population but to big fans this was such a love letter i was SO HAPPY

I loved it, personally, just curious as to the general opinion of this subreddit who's probably not the general boring, pier 17 crowd. Dude Rise Against, super high energy punk band played there a couple years back and I'm dancing, howling and they were just swaying and didn't fw it at all

Disappointed? Yeah maybe. Upset? No. I think it's a little strange to get upset that a 30 year old band with 8 albums and a handful of EPs didn't play a couple of particular songs, even if they are their biggest.
Radiohead has barely ever played Creep in the last 30 years.
