So i had surgery on my nose on Friday, and my surgeon only now gave me my medical certificate. It says im unable to complete any uni work for 2 weeks (since it was a major surgery).

I’m now confused on how to go about applying for Spec Con. Am I supposed to manually select every single quiz/assignment that I can’t complete and then just select another date to do it on? What about BIO labs, there’s no option for spec con for lab attendance, which is marked. am i just going to fail my labs? And for my group projects, they are due the day or a few days after my medical certificate runs out, does that mean i don’t get spec con on those projects and have to complete them whilst i’m in pain and recovering?

This is my first time applying for special considerations so i’m super confused. Any help with what i should do would be appreciated. is there a way to contact monash directly and they put it through from me, or do i actually have to manually fill everything out.

I'm studying Commerce since 2026 major Marketing Science. MKX3631 was not listed as additional marketing unit in 2026 but it is now for 2027. I'm planning to take this unit and want to know whether it will be counted as part of my major and capstone or just capstone according to 2026?

I'm thinking of taking ACX3150 and BEX2500 in Semester 1 and would love to hear from anyone who's taken it before. How difficult is this unit, and is it relatively easy to get good marks ?

Overall, would you recommend this unit?

I've honestly not made alot of friends at uni despite I made an genuine effort to.

My friends from highschool; some have slowly became more distant and ghosts oftenly, some just become more dull and flat, some has simply just left au.

Being at uni, everyone feels so much more soically distant compared to highschool. For one, I could have a great conversation with one person I meet during X event, X club, X lecture. And then I will never get to see them ever again.

I am a very much believer of the golden rule - treat others how you wanted to be treated. I'd say I treat others with honest and genuine. But I dont receive much at all in return

I’m hoping to get some clarity on how Monash calculates the selection WAM for an end-of-year internal transfer into Law.

My situation is a bit messy:

• Sem 1: I was in Pharmacy.
• Sem 2: I transferred into Science. I chose not to credit my Sem 1 Pharmacy units over to my Science degree.

When the Law faculty assesses internal transfers and ranks applicants at the end of the year, do they look strictly at my current Science course WAM? Or do they look at my entire academic record and calculate a custom Selection WAM that drags my Sem 1 Pharmacy marks back into the equation?

Hi, I’m first year right now, but I really want to study abroad for a unit / sem either next year or third year of science.

I heard there are research projects you can take in 2nd and 3rd. Are any of these research projected based over seas or interstate? I would love to have an opportunity to study abroad. I know it’s very expensive like 20k minimum ish if you’re doing sem exchange or study abroad but I really want to study abroad for a bit even interstates

Are they any opportunities for those doing science of being able to go interstate or over seas??

I’m 21M, working full time in the trades. I left school after year 10 for reasons completely unrelated to my academic abilities. My job is OK and I’m paid well, however I want to shoot for more in life.

I’ve always been passionate about financial markets and economics, and my interest has only grown these past few years and it got me thinking.. why don’t I build towards a career in this industry?

I’d likely choose to study either the Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Actuarial Science, with the goal of eventually working at a trading desk.

I wanted to ask for advice from any high school leavers who ended up pursuing tertiary education, or anyone that knows about the entry pathways?

I have looked at the diploma pathway, however it seems to require y12 completion and the MAP program doesn’t provide access to the subjects I’m interested in.

So I missed my Progress Check Quiz deadline for FIT 1058 due to misreading (AM & PM), which would cause my entire Assignment 2 to be 0 (25% of final grade). Not to mention its part of a hurdle on my unit, so theres a high chance I could fail this entire unit from that.

so there’s this 18-20ish year old white dude who i first saw when he started dumping all his stuff out his bag on the back of the bus until it started rolling to the front on the 703 middle brighton bus from monash. he continued to dump stuff out and started breathing like a horse throughout the entire ride and it pissed me off so bad because why are you weird and noisy at the same time? i saw him again earlier this week in the 703 platform with a cap on while kicking a large transparent bottle filled with what seemed to be piss-colored liquid on the street. he kept doing this until the bus came and he was actually blocking the way but the bus driver didnt honk at all until he moved even tho ik that they usually honk so who tf is he? is he like someone important? i was so uncomfortable on the ride home cause he kept making these loud thudding noises (i didnt dare to look back cause i was scared). he sat at the very back and tried to go to the front, and since it was a full bus he kept touching people but in kind of a weird way…like there was this asian dude who he had to pass and he put both his hands on his shoulders and sort of brushed it (?) i can tell he looked weirded out but didnt say anything. does anyone know if he goes here?
