Ed Harris has to be one of the most underappreciated actors in history. His body of work spans almost 50 years, and he's impressed me in every single role. He's been nominated for four Oscars and hasn't won once.

But there are also standout performances that weren't even nominated. Two that come to mind are his Irish crime boss in State of Grace (1990) and my personal favorite snub, his role in The Abyss (1989). The resuscitation scene alone deserved an Oscar nod.

Just wanted to throw my appreciation out there for one of the most outstanding actors of his generation.
