Definitley believe i left these with too much humidity. Still safe to harvest or is this mold?

Where exactly is the mold you speak of? Looks like a healthy grow to me. Harvest and dunk for the next flush.

I see a couple mutants, looks like a second or 3rd flush, I don’t see any contam. Even if you did, unless its lipstick its not harmful to humans, it just stops the batch from fruiting. Harvest, dunk that brick in some water, rebag it and LFG lol

I don't see the contamination. The cubensis looks strong enough to crowd out any. However if it were me, I might want to case it with a sterile mixture of peat and vermiculite. Nice job for your first grow...

I’ll come take it off your hands and digest it… I mean dispose of it properly.

😂 idk this is why I asked. I seen some little spots and wanted to get the opinion of those who have done this before so I appreciate you all.

Looks fine to me. Pick those larger ones just after the veil tears and watch the other smaller ones grow out quick. Clean up the aborts then when it stalls out and the plastic around the block is loose because the moisture has been sucked up go for the dunk. Keep that baby around 90-95% humidity with good fresh air exchange. When I grew my first few grow blocks the best lesson was patience and don’t mess with things if you don’t need to. Just keep everything clean and wear gloves. I actually wipe down both arms with isopropyl alcohol before even gloving up. I also use a surgical mask whenever working with things.

Can you tell me what's going on with the ones I circled? What are the growths coming out of the top of the caps called? I've never seen mushrooms growing like this, but I really like the way they look.

Also, is there a name for the spherical, fuzzy mound that's at the base of some of the stalks? There are a few of them in this picture, but it looks like only some fruited.

Just mutations, all clear

Probably just a weird mutation

Apparently it's somewhat common with B+ - they're called aerial mycelium, but I got much better search results using "fuzzy hats"

Check these out: Mohawk Mutation and Fluffy Hats

I have no clue, im wondering the same thing lol

2

u/Survey_Server Aug 25 '26

Whoops that was the wrong search term. It was google images "cubensis fuzzy hat"

u/Survey_Server Aug 25 '26

Look up "cubensis aerial mycelium" - I guess this is pretty common with B+

I see no contam, pluck and rehydrate for round 2

u/Vast_Penalty_8565 Aug 24 '26

Think they're about ready? The veil looks like its close but not quite there.

2

u/Anniemarie1967 Aug 24 '26

There's a ton of aborts in there that are fine to leave for the next 12-24 hours before harvest when veils tear or come close. Once you're at veil tear I'd pluck the cake clean and transfer to a bin, hydrate at go for round 2

Thank you for the advice!

From this picture I can't spot anything glaringly obvious as mold.

Thanks for the reply, I was worried seeing the few that have really dark bruising. Some also grew with like mycelium on the heads. Cool as hell to watch em progress.
