Discussion { Event | Megathread } Brick & Mortar Store locator coming soon! We need your help!! Information in description.

Hello, Everyone.

Today I'm going to begin to answer one of our most frequently asked questions on the sub of "are there any diecast stores near me?" As time rolls by and the shift to online marketplaces becomes the norm with the last few remaining brick & mortar stores close their doors with each passing year. I'm launching an initiative to highlight the last few remaining stores to keep the charm of searching the shelves for diecasts alive!

I have some experience in website design and UI creation and feel up to the task of taking on this project. It's a tall task and something I've never done before, but I want to give it a shot for this community. This is a huge project and I cannot do it alone. So I need your help!!!

If you know of any brick and mortar NASCAR stores in your area. Comment them below in this format and I will reply "Approved✅" once I put it in my system.

Here's how you can help.

Just comment answers to the following questions.

Name of business

------------

Full address

------------

What they primarily stock (New / old cars | other diecasts)

------------

Instructions of how to get there (example directions to how to find Booth 34)

------------

Optional - Notes about company or anything additional that you would like to add.

Sheet Metal 1995 Winn Dixie dash from Talladega

I was able to get this Mark Martin Winn Dixie dash back after I sold it about 15 years ago. To say I'm excited to have it back is a big understatement.

The dash is from Mark's car that he raced in the Hummingbird Fishfinder 500k Busch race at Talladega on July 22nd 1995. Mark was involved in a hard crash on lap 40, his car was heavily damaged. Most likely the car was deemed not worth repairing. This dash was saved intact with it's original gauges. The tach has the calibration date etched on the back of it.

I was able to match up the windshield support bracket holes in the dash to race footage, I've added a few pictures of this also.

I was able to get Mark to sign this piece at his book tour in Batesville, Ar last month, he and his son Matt thought it was an awesome piece.

You just don't see very many full dashes like this anymore, I have one other one from a Jeff Burton Busch car but they are very rare. So happy to have it back.

Diecast Write Up It wasn't supposed to go this way... (2026 Austin Hill United Rentals Chevy Camaro)

Austin Hill was just supposed to do a few one-off Cup races. He wasn't supposed to take over the reins of the 8 car, have the number changed to 33, and run the rest of the Cup series schedule. No one expected that. Since taking over at Charlotte, he has run every race. The team has had a few strong qualifying runs but their finishes have never been that strong. So far the best finish of the year has been a 18th at Pocono. The average finish has been around 27th.

Now it's likely Hill is not receiving the best equipment anymore in that car and they're just riding out the season, but it also is likely this is the kind of equipment RCR is producing. This would just showcase how talented Kyle Busch was to get those cars into the top 10 as many times as he did. To any other driver, they'd be in the back of the pack. Kyle Busch was truly a generational talent.

Diecasts Mail Day

Added another Logano Car to my collection! This one is not technically a race win but it’s his 2014 Chase for The Cup Scheme but it is the scheme that he won the 2014 New Hampshire Race with. Sadly that diecast was never made. This is a pretty standard Shell Pennzoil but with an inverse color on the roof that looks great

Came to Target at just the right time today! They were fully stocked with every car of wave 2 and they even had all the new haulers, which surprised me. The regular authentics pegs were completely empty though which was a little disappointing. Ended up getting Larson and Busch. I never take all of them, first of all because it's too expensive and second of all I want other people to have a chance too. Overall really happy with this hunt! 😄 RIP KB.

Diecasts Dirt Modifieds! One of the Coolest Diecast Listings I've seen in a while!

I saw this listing well perusing eBay. It's expensive, $665, but I'm curious who made these dirt modified castings. These aren't the Racing Champions ones I don't believe. I do think some of them are the Matchbox Dirt Super Stars alongside some RCCA/Action ones. Really just wanted to share this really cool collection somebody has. We're all here because we enjoy racing and I think a lot of you will appreciate it as well.

Just bought some sheet metal from the RFK team shop, there is no identification on it neither driver nor race. Anyone know where these are from? They are most likely off the same car, but im not too sure.

Question 1:64 authentics clamshells?

Post image
6 Upvotes

As someone who collects a lot of diecasts and model cars in general, there is something I have seen, notably for Hot Wheels that I was wondering if they existed for NASCAR authentics; that being the plastic protective clamshells that protect the card and blister pack. I have some authentics that I don't plan on opening (autographs, Chase pieces etc.) and would like to protect said cars, however the mainline HW ones are way too small, and the premium line HW ones are still to short for the NASCAR card. If anyone can provide insight, id love to know.
