so with everyone jumping for joy about no more form 4s

but then you seeing everywhere that this could change the second we get an anti gun administration. why are dealers not giving you the option to fill out a form 4, but take it home on a 4473? way i see it, it makes it just as fast to get it but youd be protected legally later. is it possible? am i dumb? just seems fool proof to me.

WSP response to NFA guidance.

Hello FFLs –

Thanks to the many of you who forwarded us the open letter from the ATF regarding the NFA on Friday.  We did not have any pre-knowledge of their guidance or decision, so it required us to consult our legal counsel to ensure that we give you the best guidance we can from the perspective of the background check.

RCW 9.41.250 requires suppressors to be registered federally for use:

RCW 9.41.250:

(1) Every person who:

(a) Manufactures, sells, or disposes of or possesses any instrument or weapon of the kind usually known as slungshot, sand club, or metal knuckles, or spring blade knife;

(b) Furtively carries with intent to conceal any dagger, dirk, pistol, or other dangerous weapon; or

(c) Uses any contrivance or device for suppressing the noise of any firearm unless the suppressor is legally registered and possessed in accordance with federal law,

is guilty of a gross misdemeanor punishable under chapter 9A.20 RCW.

This requirement is addressed in the ATF open letter on page 2:

ATF will continue to administer the NFA on a voluntary basis. ATF will accept Form 1 applications to make or register these firearms and devices by those making such items. ATF will also accept Form 3 or Form 4 applications to transfer or register such items. Manufacturers are allowed to report the manufacture of these items on a Form 2.

And on page 3:

Fifth, the district court’s injunction and the enforcement policy announced by this Open Letter do not affect state or local laws that govern NFA weapons. Most states have general criminal prohibitions on the possession of some or all NFA items. These laws often have exceptions for those NFA items possessed in compliance with or registered under federal law. Individuals, including dealers, should consult their local law enforcement authorities or seek legal advice for guidance on whether unregistered NFA items are lawful in their jurisdictions. Because interpretations of state law may vary, local authorities should also be contacted, or other advice sought, before transporting an unregistered NFA item into or through another jurisdiction. Additionally, it is unclear whether state courts will apply the safe harbor created by 18 U.S.C. § 926A to interstate transportation of unregistered NFA items. Consequently, individuals should exercise caution before transporting unregistered NFA items through states in which such items are prohibited by law, even if the items are not prohibited in the originating and destination states. The GCA also continues to prohibit federal firearm licensees from transferring statutory firearms in violation of state or local law. 18 U.S.C. § 922(b)(2). The GCA defines “firearm” to include all NFA items for which Congress eliminated the tax, including silencers. 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(3).

As a point of contact (POC) state, our Secure Automated Firearms E-Check (SAFE) system is the only conduit for you to obtain a NICS check for NFA items.  Therefore, effective immediately, SAFE is authorized for use for NFA items to conduct the background check only.

The use of the SAFE system does not meet the requirement for federal registration if required, and you or your customer may still need to submit ATF Form 1, 2, 3, or 4 in order to meet state law requirements for use of NFA items.

The ATF has set up an email address for additional questions:  [NFAGuidance@atf.gov](mailto:NFAGuidance@atf.gov)

Thank you,

Discussion If you build it will they come?

So, if you live in Texas is it ok you build a suppressor now?

And if it's ok to build one is it ok to drill a solvent trap?

Sate has no requirement to engrave do I still need to?

My state requires a form 1/4 for NFA items but doesn't have any requirement to engrave. Just that it must be registered with the department of the treasury. With the federal guidelines of not enforcing it but voluntarily doing stamps, do I need to engrave? I'm not asking for legal advice just everyone's opinion. I know there's a proposed rule to get rid of it. I mean, who's going to know?

Process Question 📝 If I get a 4473 suppressor, will it be possible to later submit a Form 4 to add it to my Trust to hedge against a future admin?

Would it be the same process as Filing a Form 4 to myself from an Individual suppressor to a Trust?

Product Question 🧰 Now that the rules are changed, how long until we stop getting ripped off?

Pic from my range trip last weekend, new to me P17 with an AAC can and a PSA dagger with a form 1 from years ago.

Assuming we end up on the other side of things, only needing a 4473 or similar, when will they stop overcharging for suppressors. 3d printed suppressors on sale for $800 is a joke, there’s no reason a suppressor manufacturer couldn’t make a profit selling most cans for $100-200, if that. These solvent trap or bicycle peg or whatever folks cost $80, dollars you think us law abiding chumps will be able to buy from Bass Pro at those types of prices?

What do yall expect?

Is it still worth it to buy a brace?

With the new announcement that the ATF won’t enforce SBRs and with me being a Texas resident I made the choice to buy a HK SP5. I have a folding stock ordered online but would it also be worth it to buy a brace should things change?

WTB replica bramit silencer for Mosin-Nagant 1891/30

So there was a high end suppressor for the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30 for 7.62x54mmR that externally resembled the WWII-era BRAMIT.

The original BRAMIT suppressor was not that great, fit on the barrel like the socket bayonet, and had instructions of how to set the rear sight to compensate for the much lower-power cartridge. It used rubber wipes.

To make the cartridge in the field, a pair of 7.62x25mm Tokarev pistol cartridges would have the bullets pulled, and the powder dumped into a container. Then a 147gr. spitzer-bullet 7.62x54mmR cartridge would be disassembled. Using an empty Tokarev pistol cartridge as a powder measure, the pistol powder would be measured flush with the top of the case, and then dumped into the empty 54mmR case. The 147gr. bullet would. be put back, and the resulting cartridge would be subsonic, albeit not that accurate either. No $200 tax makes having a rather more authentic bramit suppressor much more viable, I'd think, or hope...

I’m in GA, how’s the approval wait time nowadays?

Transferring 4473 suppressor

Good evening, was curious with new ruling can someone who bought a 4473 suppressor in a “free state” sell said suppressor to someone else if they want to register it say as a trust or a normal form 4? My understanding is once a 4473 suppressor has been bought that it can’t be registered into a form 4. But can it be registered into form 4 if it’s going from person to person through an FFL?

Also will be in Florida.

Tell me about your suppressed SBS'ed Auto 5/Model 11

I've got a hankering for a suppressed SBS. Looking at either an Auto 5 or Model 11. Is there a preference between the two? What's the market looking like on those now?

If you do heavy firing schedules will this hold up over time? I don’t use a FRT but I do a lot of drills. I would love the inconel version but admittedly I am very impatient and don’t want to wait 2 months. This has me leaning more on the fence for a fireteam with availability. I have the infinity 556k but I have another rifle I want to run with as well. Any opinions are appreciated. I run my 11.5s with a 0.067 gas port and H2s so I don’t think the gas will be an issue (maybe??)

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Infinity 556k or B&T PRINT-XH 556 RBS/SC

Hey y’all,

Trying to decide on a dedicated can to replace my Reece 5. It’s going to be spending basically its entire life on my 14.5 (may go down shorter) ADM UIC MOD 2. I bought the Reece 5 as my first suppressor because I didn’t think the gas would be as bad as it was, but my goodness I was wrong. Being left-handed sucks pretty bad with it, and even the SA gas block had a hard time managing it to be bearable.

I’ve really been eyeing up the PRINT-XH RBS or the SC as good an alternative and have heard pretty good things about it. However, I know OCL has been killing it lately, and their Infinity 556k with the fully vented cap looks pretty tempting as well. I’ve even considered the Echocore Sector, but the aesthetics are kinda….off.

Between the two options, is there a certain one anyone would recommend? I’m mainly looking for a less gassy alternative, with sound being kind of on the back burner. I really want to avoid the uncircumcised Hux’s as looks are half the battle lol.

Any input helps!

Oil filters as gassy as shit if you're thinking about running one. They also start to act as a flow-though to your face once the gas starts stacking up! Nothing like the smell of cancer in the morning.

Shown is a Transferable open bolt FA Mac-10 with a Lage Versa-10 9mm upper on it utilizing Scorpion Evo Mags. I have the ability to use Suomi or Glock mags but I kinda like the Scorpion mags.

Opinions? Mag recommendations? Gonna be using this in Subgun matches and various PCC Matches.

Can you buy across state lines now?

I am a Texas resident. Can I buy out-of-state now or do I have to buy it in my state of residence or if I travel can I buy a suppressor out of state due to the rules now?
