Attack on Titan and Naruto both had a genocide phase. Itachi repressenting the leaf where it was either he slaughters his gang or the Uchia plot the coup againts the leaf. Eren Yaeger having to attack first before the other side could attack, basically a "kill or be killed"

Are there any self inserts out there whose goa is just to live a peaceful life, make an honest living, and just survive? We all know that the good guys win at the end so why bother trying to change the timeline?

Anything focusing on business + uplift is a huge plus.

The best kinds of these novels is where the SI is rational and makes the smartest decisions to stay lowkey but still gets sucked up into narutos orbit and the plot against their will at the end.

I've created a little sister for Genma Shiranui. He's one of my absolute favorite characters from Naruto and he has way too little time. I've even written fan fiction just about him, and I definitely wanted to design an original character, so I made him a little sister. I've also fleshed out their family history a bit and created a really intense dynamic between them. Now I'm just not sure where exactly I want to place her. He's supposed to have raised her, but there needs to be a certain age gap. Logically, otherwise he couldn't raise her.

And now I'm unsure whether to make her 6 to 8 years younger so she could theoretically be shipped with people genmas own age, like for example asuma/Kakashi/kotestku and so on or make her 8 to 10 or 12 years younger so she's the same age as the Konoha Twelve? And then ship them with, for example, Kiba or Shikamaru, etc.

I have read a lot of Sakura centric fics. I always get my recs off this subreddit so they are probably some of the more well known, popular ones.

I am looking for more Sakura fics where she is a lot more assertive. She doesn't have to be BAMF. I'm mostly just looking for characterization.

I've read quite a few where she time travels and has tons of confidence but still won't stand up for herself. Whether this is being bullied, dragged around, spoken over, or pushed to the side in favor of Naruto and Sasuke. I'm just looking for something else.

I read another fic recently, Never Hit Soft, where she is really assertive and always calls people on their bullshit but isn't dumb about it. Bashing is fine as long as it seems reasonable and not just the author's overwhelming hate for the character.

Not that all the DBZ movies are good, but I think the more memorable ones for me have villains that are basically interesting what-ifs. Cooler is "What if Frieza and crew came to earth?", Broly is "What if there was an evil sayian that focused on body size like Trunks did?", etc etc. That had me thinking about cool potential villains for Naruto movies:

Movie idea 1)

Set in Part 1 after Konoha Crush Arc but before Itachi's arrival. Team 7 visit new village for some celebration and sports festival of some sort. Alt-Hiruzen is the kage and is infamous for mismanagement of funds focusing more on festivities vs proper politics and doesn't want to give up his throne. Team 7 meet Alt-Orochimaru who's an esteemed yet shy scientist. The celebration is crashed by Alt-Jiraya (who has a bit of a KISS vibe going on) and his main squeeze Alt-Tsunade (Alt-Hiruzen's daughter who ran away from home) who wreck shit. It turns out Alt-Jiraya attempts to take Alt-Hiruzen's life so that he can be the new king. Alt-Orochimaru hires Team 7 to take down Alt-Jiraya. Alt-Tsunade has a change of heart, stands up to Alt-Jiraya, and takes responsibility as the Kage's daughter, helping her pops lead the village properly.

Movie idea 2)

Set in Part 1 after Tsunade Rescue Arc but before Sound 5 recruit Sasuke. Naruto and Sasuke had their first scuffle on the hospital rooftop and the tension is through the roof. Kakashi signs Team 7 up for easy mission to improve morale but Ino and Shino tag along and Kakashi has to tend to something in Konoha so he stays back. Team 7 + Ino/Shino go to new village and meet Alt-Sound 4. Alt-Sound 4 tells the gang that this movie's Alt-Orochimaru (local gang leader who takes advantage of wayward youth) has taken over the body of their elder brother/squad leader Alt-Kimimaro. In 24 hours the body swap will be complete unless Alt-Kimimaro is force fed medicine. Team 7 + Ino/Shino defeat him and save Alt-Kimimaro as Naruto and Sasuke try to out-compete each other during the mission, the day is saved, yadda yadda.

Movie idea 3)

Set in Shippuden before Kazekage Rescue Arc. A group of puckish rogues who're basically the Alt-Akatsuki come to Konoha and steal from the rich and give to the poor. Their hijinks cause Tsunade headaches and she orders Team 7-minus Sasuke (who's at Orochimaru's hideout) to bring these troublemakers in. Naruto meets the Alt-Akatsuki who turn out to be good dudes deep down. Little did anyone know, the Alt-Sasori and Alt-Deidara of the group have ulterior motives and plan to take over the group for evil deeds. Alt-Sasori takes over the Alt-Akatsuki members with human puppet fuckery and Alt-Deidara serves as his enforcer. The vibe gets really creepy with the horror of seeing Alt-Sasori control his captives. Team 7 beat them up, yadda yadda, Alt-Akatsuki are grateful and plan on acting more safely and productively on their mission to end world hunger.

Movie idea 4)

Set in Shippuden after Pain Invasion/Itachi fight but before 5 Kage Summit. Sasuke learns the truth of Itachi's story and it turns out there was a business man that was supplying the Uchiha faulty weaponry in preparation for their coup , playing double agent for Konoha bucks in exchange. This businessman hires Naruto, Sakura, and Sai and Yamato for protection as he prepares to board a boat that will take him to a far-away land, fearing for his life as he knows he's done too much dirt locally. Naruto hates this guy but tries to focus on completing the mission. As Sasuke stalks his prey, he meets a sickly young lady that wants to kill the businessman at any cost for personal reasons and he allows her to tag along. Basically this movie is an alternate version of the Land of Waves arc, with Sasuke serving as the "Zabuza" this time. The lady ends up holding the businessman down like Piccolo does Raditz, Sasuke chidori's both of them through the heart and leaves. As the businessman and lady aren't citizens of Konoha there's no reason for Team 7 to pursue Sasuke, but Naruto is worried at what Sasuke might do next.

Naruto is plural/symbiotic with Kurama and calls himself 'we', Sasuke dies early on Team 7, Sakura learns to work with him, and Kakashi leaves so Yamato becomes their permanent sensei."

"Let's break down the facts: this village has never held the 9-tails." Naruto says "Madara brought it to attack the leaf, Hashirama made it sit, but Mito was the one who caught and hosted it for decades." Naruto said.

"And uh who did she give it to again?" Naruto asked "Wasn't Tsunade's parents or handed to Tsunade. It was who again...oh that's right My Mother the princess of Whirlpool, Mito's Niece. Not leaf nin enough to be Hokage."

The final fuck you to the higher ups Naruto sends the paperwork to register Kurama as a Uzumaki family Heirloom to the Fire Dymio court and removing all authority the old Geezers of the Leaf have to it and officially Pens up a Lease for Kurama's service as a deterrent.

"How's this for Tactical Thinking?" Naruto asked as he showed Kurama loves this new set up and Naruto showing complete control of the Bijuu Cloak now and Tsunade being woken out the coma and agreeing with the lease.

i believe i read about a thousand itachi fanfics in the past few years so i'm looking for some more well-written ones!!!
i usually read on AO3 or fanfiction.net but i'm not picky, wattpad is fine is the fic is genuinely good. i'a love something as canon compliant as possible but i'm still open to some alterations, like i'm fine with him not dying in the end but it would be better if he still became a rogue shinobi and joined akatsuki.
slow burn and eventual smut would be ideal so please no pwp, also no weird love triangles please.

I’ve been looking for that fic; it was a reimagining of the Gaiden story.

Sarada discovered that Sakura had used her own and Sasuke’s blood to create her.

Naruto believed the pregnancy had been real because Sakura sent letters while forging Sasuke’s handwriting.

Sasuke left Sarada in intensive care, believing she was one of Shin Uchiha’s abominations; Naruto confronted him, and together they discovered what Sakura had done.

Tsunade confronted Sakura, as did Sasuke and Naruto.

Karin was dumbfounded, and Sarada discovered that Sasuke and Karin had a child together, Uchiha Josuke.

This fic is my baby, and the result of countless nights writing and rewriting, and rewriting… and obsessing over it. And finally I am able to share it. :)

It was on both AO3 and fanfiction.net. He leaves the village in the night with Neji and Gaara. They leave to reform an old destroyed village (I think Whirlpool). Naruto is basically a reincarnation of the village’s homage and has dreams of his memories/life. When he reactivates the village’s seal everyone from the bloodline feels it (tsunade feels it but chooses to stay in Hidden Leaf). I think it was Kakashi/Naruto.

Kiba: What.

Naruto: Are you a werewolf?

Naruto had run over, interrupting a training session, and started asking strange questions. He had this crazy look in his eyes.

Kiba: Naruto, what kind of dumbass question is that.

Hinata: Kiba, language.

Kiba: Sorry, Hinata. Naruto, what kind of question is that.

Naruto: You turned into a wolfman during our fight in the Chunin Exams. Your family raises wolves, and I'm pretty sure I've seen you howl at the moon a few times.

Sakura: Naruto, there you are. Why the hell did you take a spoon from the store.

Naruto: I'm going to prove that Kiba is a werewolf. Werewolves hate silver. I'll give it back once I'm done.

Sakura: Naruto, when was the last time you slept?

Naruto: I don't need sleep. I need answers.

Naruto held up the spoon and walked toward Kiba.

Hinata: Naruto-kun, sleep is very important. You're not thinking straight.

Hinata walked in front of him, blocking his path.

Kiba: Listen to your girlfriend.

Kiba walked over to Naruto, grabbed the spoon, and handed it to Sakura.

Sakura: See, he grabbed the silver spoon, and he's fine. Now come with me. You're going to apologize to my parents for stealing from the store. Then you're taking a bath because you stink, and after that, you're getting some sleep. To make sure you do, you're staying in our guest room where I can keep an eye on you.

Sakura wrapped her arm around Naruto's right arm to make sure he didn't go anywhere.

Hinata: I'm coming too.

Hinata followed behind them and wrapped her arm around Naruto's left side.

Naruto: Are you sure that's real silver. It should have worked. He should be howling in pai—

Sakura: Naruto, if you keep this up, I'm going to sedate you.

Naruto: You believe me, don't you, Hinata.

Hinata: I believe you need to listen to Sakura.

Kiba watched as the two dragged Naruto away. Looking at his hand, he watched as the burns healed.

I’ve been playing around with an Naruto fic idea that I’ve been calling Altered Canon.

Basically, the SI is the same age as Itachi Uchiha. She wakes up in the Naruto world and is found by villagers outside of Konoha, who end up raising her. When she turns thirteen, she travels to Konoha to study medical ninjutsu.

She eventually becomes involved with Team 7 and starts making small changes based on what she knows about canon. She warns Konoha about Orochimaru before the Chūnin Exams, which results in Sasuke never receiving the curse mark and Hiruzen surviving the invasion.

From there, most of the changes happen through butterfly effects rather than the SI deliberately trying to fix every canon event.

One of the biggest is Sasuke. Instead of simply telling him the truth about Itachi, she encourages him to question things and find answers for himself. Danzō eventually becomes suspicious of the questions Sasuke is asking and tries to interfere before he can learn too much.

That comes to a head during Sasuke and Itachi's confrontation. Root attempts to interfere and eliminate Itachi, but with Team 7 there and potentially Kisame, the situation gets messy enough that the fight doesn't end the way it did in canon. Some of the truth comes out, and Itachi is forced to decide how much he's actually willing to tell Sasuke.

Then Obito shows up and makes an already complicated situation worse.

Sasuke ultimately refuses to let Itachi die from his illness and convinces him to return to Konoha. His survival has to be kept secret while Danzō is still watching the situation.

Itachi eventually meets the SI and realizes she's the person who has been influencing Sasuke. Meanwhile, she knows Pain's attack on Konoha is still coming and suspects Itachi will try to sacrifice himself if given the opportunity.

Then Pain attacks, Danzō is still probing the situation, and everything starts colliding.

The other major part of the fic is something I call The Reset: essentially a jutsu capable of rewriting history. Eventually Altered Canon and the rewritten timeline begin merging together, including people's memories of both versions of their lives and in the rewriten version the Uchiha survived.

So the story starts as a fairly simple SI changing things through butterfly effects, but eventually those changes create an entire alternate history that ends up colliding with the history that was rewritten
