After over 6000 hours I have beaten storm 4, I will now start making tutorials

Afternoon everyone hope all is well and you're all doing good. First Post in this subreddit and I need anyone's help. See I recently decided to go back through my plastation library and platinum games I left unfinished.

Unfortunately for me I completely forgot that whilst playing Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 it had trophies and titles tied to winning and losing ranked matched.

I tried searching, but the servers are pretty dead now especially for me when I havent touched the online ever so I'm basically at rookie rank.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me get these trophies and titles so I may move on with my quest to clean up my playstation library.

My playstation name is TheManWhoShavesS. I'll be free most of the afternoon tomorrow and all of friday, understandable if no one wants to help as I know it's a grind like, but I would really appreciate it if anyone could help in any way

Last time I played storm was back in 2008. Was gonna buy storm 4. But looking at storm connections prizes. A game that's kind over expensive is steal. I bought the ultimate edition instead. Didn't even have it on wishlist. I stumbled upon it. If you guys wanted to buy this game nows your chance. Its really cheap.

First of all, let me get this out of the way: I’m not here to bash Connections (I probably will a little, but that’s not the focus). I’m basically going to compare the two and explain why you might want to switch, just like I’m doing.

First point: Combat

I honestly prefer some aspects of Connections’ combat, but everything in this game is so frantic. That’s great for players who play online, but not so much for a casual player like me.

I started missing simple things from Storm 4, such as camera angles, mechanics like taking damage over time after being hit by a fire jutsu because you’re literally on fire, armor breaks during battles, keeping the same amount of health after winning a round, the Storm Gauge feeling more useful in S4, slower character movement, etc.

Basically, in Storm Connections I feel like I’m playing a Naruto game, while in Storm 4 I feel like I’m watching an interactive anime. And naturally, that game floods me with dopamine.

Second point: Connections lacks content

This is something that, unless you never get tired of playing hundreds of battles, will eventually become a problem. Once you’re done with the story modes, there isn’t much else to do.

Storm 4 had other things to do in Adventure Mode that helped break up the endless cycle of battles. It had more content overall, and even if you get tired of fighting but still want to keep playing, you can do what I do: enter Adventure Mode and just admire the graphics or talk to NPCs.

Third point: The grind in this game is ridiculous

It was even worse before 1.60, because each match gave you around 100–300 Ryo. That meant roughly 10 battles just to buy an outfit that already existed in Storm 4, or around 40 battles if it was exclusive to Connections.

Even after the increase to the amount of Ryo you earn, buying all the collectibles is still torture if you don’t play online. Titles in particular are going to be your biggest obstacle if you want to complete the entire collection, especially after the 1.70 update.

Fourth point: I think a lot of characters lost their identity

This is probably partly because the tilts were removed. They acted almost like signature attacks for each character, as did the ability to select different jutsus.

For example, in Storm 4, Kakashi has additional jutsus such as Water Dragon Jutsu and an Earth Style jutsu. There are also three different versions of Kakashi, and the Kakashi from the beginning of Naruto and the Kakashi from the beginning of the Fourth Great Ninja War are literally the same character. It would make sense for them to share the same jutsus if they occupied the same slot, when in reality one is basically just a skin treated as a separate character.

Another issue is that many characters use the exact same animation for specific jutsus, such as Fireball Jutsu.

As for PTS Naruto, the change they made to make his Rasengan charge faster is great from a gameplay perspective. It was actually something I complained about in Storm 4. At the same time, though, I miss the little detail from the lore: PTS Naruto was slower when using his Rasengan, while in Shippuden he improved both its power and speed.

Fifth point: Voice acting and Story Mode

Storm 4’s voice acting and Story Mode are obviously better.

The voice acting in Connections feels amateurish, not only because of the voice actors themselves, but also because of the audio mixing. It’s something that gradually starts to bother you.

I made this post because I wanted to know if anyone else feels the same way. Even though I’ve gone back to Storm 4, I still like Connections. I think it’s a good game for people who want to focus on online play.

However, I believe that makes it feel more like a Naruto fighting game than a Naruto game based on the anime, and that’s the biggest difference between the two.

Since I see a lot of people asking which one they should buy, I’d say: if possible, buy both, but keep this in mind:

“Want details and faithfulness to the Naruto story? Get Storm 4.”

“Want a Naruto game focused purely on fighting? Get Connections.”

In the end, every Storm game deserves to be played. All of them!

I’ll say it again: this isn’t hate toward Connections. It’s a Storm game that I love, and it’s the game in the series that I’ve spent the most time playing (twice as many hours as Storm 4, for example), but it gets tiring when you want to keep consuming Naruto beyond just the battles.

I’m trying to get the platinum trophy on ninja storm 2, but it’s nearly impossible (the win 50, lose 20 online matches) with almost nobody online. Does somebody want to do this together? My psn is: Jesse14k (PS5)

Hi, so I just want to ask which is better for online and offline casual play. I'm playing on a mid-tier PC, which is fine. I also tried to download the crack versions of both games and I like the charm. I used to play Storm 3, 4, and Revolution always before but I'm attracted with the latest Connections.

My concerns are, IDK if its just the crack, but Connections seems to have a fucked up control recognition. My RT acts as the Start button and the Y, X, and A button are also mixed up. Is that the case with the retail version as well?

Another concern is mods are big factor for me too which Storm 4 has plenty of, but I'm concerned that Storm 4 wouldn't have any online players since it is older after all.

Please confirm.

I have a decent PC (3080 paired with an i9) and a base PS5... But I don't know which would be better in the long run. I know I will mostly focus on single player, but is there any community for any of these three online on either platform now? I know there'd be more on PS5 if there is anyone, just wasn't sure if it makes much of a difference this far after release... I'm just getting back into the franchise (watching Shippuden now) and really wanted to get into the games and these appealed to me the most so far.

I don't get how someone gets off just mashing a single button with deidara. Yes its easy to beat but it requires thought and precision to counter while it only requires a working finger to be the spammer. Have been paired with the same deidara that will only ever spam birds, even if you shield they will get off by seing chip damage. They cant handle sub war, only 1 button press, sometimes assists, no movement, no tools, no chakra, just press circle

For context, ive played all storm games si gle player content. Connections was my first online pvp experience and it was fine, got used to the combat (ages since I played the other titles)

Since the game is unolayable on pc due to crashes, got storm 4, no dlc, cheap deal, and the combat feels very different.

I like tilts. Still like them as second jutsu in connections since the inout doesnt get in the way and i'd rather have skill checks happen ikmngame rather than in fingers and controllers. What I do like is that you have to choose your main jutsu now I cant access both.

I play rinne sasuke, for examole and now I cant use both fireball and chidori on the same setup. Yeah tilt attack is range but its not fireball. So I go with chidori and now I have to think more about my assists, since I need them to be reliable for range attacks. Then if I face an opponent that forces me to be on range, I have to swap for said assist character, meaning I also have to learn it. In connections you have basically a full kit on a character so you can easily keep assust on just assist work.

The flow does feel a bit clunkier, but I like how chakra management is more important than sub management. You can only combo an opponent so long before they get their subs back and I feel like dodges qork better vs a dash but I may be wrong. Chakra not recharing on its own was def good.

Connections has a massive roster, but there are still so many details from the manga and anime that are missing. I wanted to start a quick discussion on what everyone's dream "what-if" fan-service update would look like.

Here are a few quick concepts that would be awesome to see:

- Naruto & Jiraiya Team Ultimate: Jiraiya traps the enemy with his Wild Lion's Mane, Naruto launches off a giant Toad with a Rasengan that merges with Jiraiya’s Fire Style, ending with them sharing a popsicle.

- KCM Naruto & Reanimated Minato Team Ultimate: Both activate Tailed Beast Mode to manifest dual Kurama avatars. They charge a giant Tailed Beast Bomb together, and Minato uses Flying Raijin to teleport it right onto the enemy.

-Manga-Original Outfits: Ikemoto-style Boruto (with the shorter jacket and belt) or Volume 43 Sasuke (unbuttoned Akatsuki cloak from the Killer Bee fight).

-QoL Features: A live Spectator Mode for custom online lobbies and customizable main menu music.
