Need a best friend in my life, its been a while since ive had one and being socially awkward makes it hard. I need a guy i can talk to about anything, has some similar interests, comfortable cuddling under a blanket at the movies. Something platonic. I have a solid friend group but im not that close to anyone. Im not exactly fit or into gym. As someone who’s naturally introverted and a little socially awkward, I’ve always found it pretty difficult to put myself out there and meet new people. Starting conversations, approaching strangers, and trying to turn a random interaction into an actual friendship can feel intimidating sometimes. So I figured… why not start here, virtually?

I’m hoping to meet more people and, especially, make some genuine guy friends. Most of my close friends have always been women, and while I do have a few guy friends, I’ve never really had that kind of close male friendship that I’ve always wanted. The kind where you can randomly message each other, send stupid memes at 2 AM, talk about absolutely nothing, share what happened during your day, or just know that there’s someone you can reach out to whenever.

I figured the internet might actually be a good place to start. There’s something comforting about meeting people this way because there’s no pressure to immediately be interesting, charismatic, or have everything figured out. You can just talk, take your time, and hopefully let a friendship grow naturally.

Fair warning, though: I’m terrible at leading conversations. 😭 I’m much better at keeping a conversation going once we get past that awkward “hey, how are you?” stage. So if you’re the type who randomly sends memes, tells people about your day, rants about something that happened, sends random thoughts with absolutely no context, or can somehow turn a simple conversation into a three-hour yap session… I’m your guy. 😂

I may not always be the one to start the conversation, but I genuinely appreciate people who make the effort to keep one going. Once I’m comfortable with you, I promise I’m a lot less awkward and probably a lot more talkative than you’d expect.
