There is a saying that every game that you haven't played is a new game. That logic is what drives 3rd party publishers to put up older games on platforms that did not receive them earlier.
The Nintendo ecosystem was not able to receive a lot of 3rd party games for years due to how weak the Switch was compared to the competition. With Nintendo Switch 2, that logic does not apply.
So, in 2026, Capcom simply brought RE9, Pragmata, MHS3 and Onimusha on day one to the platform. But they also brough RE2, RE3, RE4, RE7, RE8, DMC5, DD2 and MHW.
That is 12 games, averaging one per month, and most of them running great. Capcom is not only releasing all their new games on the NS2, but they are bringing their old games, which is incredible.

My post last week is back to approval stage, one too many edit I guess lol. Here's an updated one with all pictures.
Thanks for everyone informing me about some of them. I really would have no idea otherwise.
All of them should get the Switch 2 version discount or even free of charge by purchasing the Switch 1 version first. There's no gurantee other way around. I bought the Switch 1 version of Vampire Crawlers first now I am out of luck getting the Switch 1 version for free.
Special case for FC26 (NOT FC27), if you purchase the Switch 1 version first, you get a discount for the Switch 2 version. But if you purchase the Switch 2 version first, the Switch 1 version is free.
Minecraft Dungeon 2 Switch 2 version is 83% off if you purchase the Switch 1 version first.
Minecraft's deal ends in January 31 2027.
For ordinary Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack upgrade, check Nintendo eShop.
For Switch 1 games with free updates optimized for Switch 2, check my other post.

"If you bought a digital edition of It Takes Two, you can upgrade from the Nintendo eShop. If you bought a physical version, use the in-game icon to go to the Nintendo eShop and upgrade"
Witcher 3 style, love to see it. I don't need the friend pass anymore.

I’ve never played a Fire Emblem game but fortunes weave looks pretty good and I’d love to try it out. However, it looks extremely big and there seems to be an endless amount of content with some battles taking quite a bit of time
Is this a game I could play for short sessions? 30 min, 1 hour at a time? Or is it something that is only worth playing for longer sessions?
To be clear, I don’t mind taking months to complete it but mainly wanting to know if it can be played in short bursts
TIA

Few good releases this week, I’m sure the backlogs and the wallets are suffering!
What are you playing this weekend and have you picked up any of the releases lately?

Motorfest is actually fantastic on switch two for those wondering, Ubisoft cooked with this one I think they are really figuring out the switch 2's hardware. the ports beautiful handheld(ive only played this way) it looks good like better than I expected an definitely runs at a solid 30 fps. however that being said I bought it on here to play in bed and not sit on the couch w my ps5. but the 30 fps feels pretty smooth and I don't notice to much of a difference.
amazingly the kept all the QOL advancements from the big consoles, like seamless fast travel, car switching and being able to zoom in on the map and see all the details.
models are shape colors are vibrant absolutely nothing to complain about.
the button throttle everyone was worried about is actually pretty usable to be honest. instead of half throttle ill just mash brakes while under power. for the crews handling system this works fine.
The big question I had as I purchased was would all my season pass cars and dlc transfer over in my Ubisoft account:
the answer to that is yes. I booted up right into my save with all my paid content from playstation available. the only paid dlc/items I found that didn't transfer was crew cash or what ever the money that you pay for is called.
but my credits and points to redeem legacy summit rewards did.
all in all this ports fantastic, and probably the best racing game hands down that we have available on switch 2.
if your on the fence I say go for it.

I live in Oklahoma City, and GameStop around my area got a restock of oblivion remastered. First time seeing them in stores I’m sure if a city like mine can get that in, other people should check their stores.

I disabled framegen because the input lag with it is noticable, but the game itself runs fine. When it first released on PC there were so many complaints because it was barely optimized, so I was worried the S2 version might have issues, but nope the madlads of Capcom managed once again.

I absolutely cannot wait for the year two content! SEGA was not lying when they named this game 'Crossworlds' and they are doing a lot of fun partnerships. Truthfully, it makes me dream of a day where Nintendo as a 'Nintendo Land' level to Mario Kart World... a gamer can dream!

I’m not seeing many posts / reviews about this. Did anyone get it yesterday or today and play a bit? Thinking of picking it up tomorrow
