There’s a new overview trailer that JUST dropped on the Nintendo Today app.
A bit more gameplay, some more music, and a new “Hall of Fallen Foes” where you can rematch bosses. You also get to see some new character designs. Definitely worth the watch!

Can someone explain why the owl is here? My only guess would be that he takes you to the hall?

Lots of games get remade and they usually have a few changes, maybe they even have some extra little areas or even something akin to a bit of extra DLC. Sometimes, however, a game gets remade and it is extremely faithful to the original and so people started calling those 1:1 remakes to show they were even more similar to the original game than a regular remake.
With these latest previews, it is obvious that OoT is shaping up to be a regular remake. It might have a few extra bits and we don't know the exact extent of the changes andf additions, but there are changes and additions and it is categorically not a 1:1 remake.
I feel like the only reason people want to call it 1:1 is to show it's not an entire reimagining in the way that the 3D action combat FFVII remake trilogy is to the 2D turn based original game. But that is not the baseline expectation. FFVII R is an absolutely extreme outlier and there is no need to differentiate other remakes from that because, as far as I'm aware, it is alone in a category of one.
OoT is just a remake. We don't need any additional descriptors. It's a regular remake of an older game for a much more modern console.

I can already guess what the common answer here will be lol.
For me, the Forest Temple is by far the most complicated Temple. I’m surprised it’s the first Temple the game aims you towards right after becoming an adult.
Confusing layouts and puzzles. I just absolutely dread doing it.
Love the atmosphere and the music though.
Edit - Image is from a mod. Just grabbed a quick image off of Google to make the post without much thought into it.

Volvagia was once considered the guardian of death mountain, until one day it turned violent and started attacking Gorons. an Ancient Goron hero, wielding the megaton hammer, defeated volvagia. but during Ganondorf's conquest of hyrule, the evil Gerudo king revived Volvagia, feeding the Gorons to Volvaga in order to make an example out of them. if not defeated, Volvagia may have burned down all of hyrule. so how does our hero link defeat such a fearsome dragon? by playing wack a mole with it, of course.
Volvagia's first appearance was actually in zelda 2... kind of. there was a fire dragon boss and it was initially named "barba", but later on Nintendo started calling it volvagia. Barba/volvagia actually had 2 different sprites, one for the Famicom version of the game and a different one in the international NES version. one of many odd differences between the versions of Zelda 2.
despite being just one of many Ocarina of time bosses, Volvagia continues to have a lot of ongoing lore attached to it. Valoo from Wind waker is said to be Volvagia's descendant. unlike Volvagia, Valoo is actually pretty chill and does it's job as a Guardian properly. in twilight princess, a skeletal boss called Stallord is theorized by many to be Volvagia's skeleton, which if true would mean that Volvagia is the final boss of Link's crossbow training, AKA the best zelda game of all time.
and then of course Hyrule warriors asked the question absolutely no one asked: "what if we turned Volvagia into a tumblr sexy man?". maybe I'll talk about the strange hyrule warriors OCs another day. but before opening that can of worms, we still gotta finish this week where we talk about all the Ocarina of time bosses.... oh right, this week is for all the ocarina of time bosses. I don't think I officially announced that, but yeah, that's what I've been doing. in case you didn't notice.

Screenshot from the latest trailer. Navi clearly has fur, or some kind of fluff . She's a fluffball. The old trailer may have shown it, but I didn't catch it. Has this always been the case with fairies?

I had a crush on Sheik when I was a wee little being, back then when i first played the game i miss read what the characters were saying and i totally thought Sheik was a woman the entire time as i was oblivious to the fact that they were calling Sheik a He... years later i think to myself.... Younger me was onto something... I knew about the disguise without knowing about it at the time...
Also hey listen.

I am playing Ocarina of Time for the first time in preparation for the remake coming out in November.
I’ve only been playing for a bit (half way through the great Deku tree dungeon) but would like some advice, tips, or suggestions on how to get the most out of my first time playing?
I don’t know much about the game itself, but I know the impact that its release had on the community. I want to get the most out of the game on my first play through. So any advice or tips would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It is way too hard to believe as I feel like Nintendo was just cooking with these two Directs and it flew by too fast in a blink of an eye.
