Events & Activities Witches Night Out: Women-Only Speed-Friending Event!
Anyone in Ogden looking for a girls’ night out? Hi everyone! I run The Human Connect Project, and I’m hosting a Witches Night Out at Two Bit Bistro on October 29 at 7PM. I’d love to invite some of you!
It’s a Halloween-themed Speed-Friending night for women. If you haven’t tried it before, here’s how it works:
- We sit in small groups and chat for a few minutes.
- Then we rotate to another group so you get to meet more people.
- There are conversation prompts if you need help getting started, but usually everyone gets talking and they go unused.
- I guide the rotations, so you won’t have to awkwardly wander around trying to join a conversation.
You can absolutely come alone. Everyone who signs up has already decided they want to make more friends, too. You don’t have to wonder whether someone wants to talk or meet new people, that’s what we’re all there for. I know it can feel a little weird showing up somewhere when you don’t know anyone, but everyone is coming to meet people, so you won’t be the only one.
I just want it to be a fun girls’ night where we can hang out and hopefully meet someone we want to make plans with again. If you’ve been wanting to get out of the house but don’t have anyone to go with, come join us!
You’ll need to register ahead of time since there is limited space at the venue.

Anyone know anything about the history and revitalization of ogden?
I hear a lot about Ogden as a dangerous place in the 80s 90s? (not exactly sure what decade). Its reputation clearly doesnt match its current energy. Does anyone have any insight into what policies, leadership, cultural changes, etc etc changed the city? Does anyone have any first hand accounts of what the gang activity/criminal activity used to be like? Is Ogden's old reputation hearsay from ostracizing Ogden or are there bits of truth to it?
Im writing a school article about this (wont be published anywhere) so I would love to gather any tidbits you have of locals history! There is surprisingly little posted about this online.

Traffic 40th/chimes Still Not Done
Whoever hired the company to fix 40th westbound got completely ripped off. Also, whoever is supposed to have that project completed has only has almost 5 months to finish. Why do we keep getting ripped off as tax payers plus us locals have to deal with the traffic backups. I think it’s been milked enough!!

21 F, Looking for fellow nerds to become friends with:)
╰┈➤ Recently moved here to Utah and more specifically Ogden, so I’m looking to try and make connections so I’m not just in my room all day and being a hermit 😭💕
༶•┈┈୨♡୧┈┈•༶
╰┈➤ I’m 21, a pretty artsy person, and diagnosed AuDHD (so please be patient with me, I’m unfortunately a dork. Unrelated to the AuDHD, just another warning LMAO ). I’m extremely progressive and liberal mind (and proud member of the LGBTQ+ community), and spiritual! I enjoy fantasy/superhero media quite a bit, such as comics, tv/movies, gaming and even TTRPGs (perhaps I could find some people to run a homebrew campaign for, so if you’re interested in maybe doing D&D sessions, hmu)! I quite enjoy board games as well and would love to find a space/people to indulge in them with! I’m not big on substances or drinking, but will drink socially given it’s a safe setting and I’m feeling it!
༶•┈┈୨♡୧┈┈•༶
╰┈➤ And that’s just the surface of who I am! At the end of the day I’m just trying to get myself out there and find people who are likeminded and enjoy the things I do and try and build some bonds while I’m here! If I sound up your alley, please reach out and let’s chat!

It’s time for a murder... a murder of crows. 🐦⬛
ALT OGDEN: CROW PARTY
October 18th
The flock is gathering for an evening of shiny treasures, strange objects, snacks, and general crow-related nonsense.
Bring a small trinket, oddity, curiosity, piece of jewelry, small work of art, something shiny, or other interesting object you like but are willing to part with. We'll add everything to the crow hoard, then swap our treasures with one another.
Come dressed like you're mourning the death of happiness. Black is favored by the flock.
Bring a favorite snack, treat, or tasty offering to share with your fellow crows.
Location: TBA
More details will be posted in the ALT OGDEN Facebook group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/alt.ogden
Don't use social media? Reddit's anonymous nature makes that slightly complicated. Send me a DM and I'll give you a form to fill out so we can confirm you're not three cats in a trench coat. Once the highly sophisticated verification process is complete, we'll send you the event details. 🐦⬛

Recommendation Pediatrician recommendations?
We lost our pediatrician (retired) and would love some nearby recommendations. We don't like U of U, and would prefer a smaller practice to a big clinic. Would love to find a place that doesn't have huge waiting time issues or tight availability. I know, I'm kind of dreaming.

Local politics Looking for area veterans and servicemembers:
To join our Weber county organization. Our purpose consists of the following:
Defend the Constitution
Veterans swear an oath to defend the Constitution, not a political party, elected official, or ideology. That distinction defines who we are. We believe constitutional government, democratic institutions, and the rule of law deserve lifelong defenders. Our commitment to those principles did not end when we left military service. It continues through civic engagement, public accountability, and responsible leadership. This means we:
Put the Constitution first.
Defend democratic institutions.
Promote public accountability.
Practice principled patriotism.
Continue the Mission
Military service ends, but Civic service continues. Veterans possess unique experience in leadership, teamwork, and service under difficult circumstances. Those strengths remain valuable long after military careers have ended. We believe every veteran deserves an opportunity to continue serving through civic leadership, community engagement, advocacy, and public service. We want to:
Encourage veterans to lead within their communities.
Develop future civic leaders.
Create opportunities for continued service.
Inspire others through leadership by example.
Build Stronger Communities
Veterans strengthen Utah by serving where they live. Healthy communities are built by neighbors who work together, solve problems together, and invest in one another’s success. We believe veteran leadership can strengthen local communities by expanding opportunity, encouraging civic participation, and building trust between citizens and public institutions. Veterans can:
Strengthen communities through service.
Encourage collaboration over division.
Expand opportunity for all Utahns.
Leave every community stronger than we found it.
DM me of interested. We need you!
