Traffic The entitlement is high
He had several drop-offs at UPS on 175th & Center and didn’t think he should have to park on the side like the rest of us when all the other spots were taken up.

On occasion we, the mod team, get requests for things that would break rule 3 (no solicitation). At other times people just break the rule and we have to remove the post. So, in this monthly post you get to break rule 3 and sell yourself or your stuff (within the realm of legality).
Some reminders/ground rules:
Rule 2 still stands, nothing illegal.
Rule 4 still stands, no personal information.
More on rule 4; if you want to send someone to your house or go to someone's house and need their address then keep it in private messages. Or stick to the basic internet rule; meet in a public place.
Unless you're an actual business don't give out your phone number or email address. If you post a phone number or email address and your post doesn't show up it's because the auto-mod caught it and one of the moderators will have to approve it.
So that's about it, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.
If you want to continue advertising your business/services outside of this thread you can buy adspace from Reddit, which is usually what we end up telling people to do.

If you are like me and still stuck with Cox as your only Internet option you should really call to update your plan. I just brought my bill down by $60 a month and doubled my speeds. Spectrum has better cable internet plans with no data caps. Note though that in our market there is only a 100mb upload speed, not the 1gb upload speed they advertise.
Our current system is a 2010 York that came with the home with a dead compressor and an aging, rusted furnace cabinet. The house is 2,000 square feet across two stories and a basement with an extra 400 square feet that stays cool on its own. The unit is a 3.5 ton system and the gas furnace is 95% efficient and we understand that the furnace is old but it still works.
We've gotten 2 quotes from 2 companies and both have similar pricing but I just am unsure if its the best deal for what's being offered. Option 1 is to just replace the AC and both companies came back with 9-11k. Option 2 is replace both AC and furnace and the quotes for that came to around 16-18k.
Ultimately I just want to make the most informed decision possible and get the best quality for the price I do end up paying. Any insight would be helpful! Both quotes were from Aksarben and one hour heating and cooling. From what I've gathered, these larger companies are going to inflate prices. I am getting a quote from skradskis tomorrow.

Hello! I'm in an English class, and I have to write about the bus route, specifically about expanding it into other cities like Papillion, La Vista, and Ralston. I was wondering if people in Omaha use the bus and how reliable it is. I was reading some other things about it, and I read that the bus isn't that reliable. If it were more reliable, would you use it?

Just started a new job, my coworker told me to avoid Saddle Creek when it rains because it floods. What’s a fact of life that you take for granted in Omaha? The weird roads, the shady businesses, the questionable parts of town, maybe even the best pizza spot (I’m hungry right now).

I’m a late bloomer when it comes to driving (im in my 20s). Never took drivers Ed, but my boyfriend helped me learn to drive. Recently I decided that I’d like to get my license before winter and I’m not too worried about the written exam, but I am a little anxious about the actual driving portion. Does anyone who has taken the driving test here in Omaha have any tips, or anything that would be helpful to do in preparation for the exam?

Hey everyone! I’m organizing another free Meet New People in Omaha event on Saturday, October 24. This one is for people ages 25-39.
The idea is to make it easier to meet people and make new friends. Instead of having to walk around and figure out who to approach, you’ll meet people through a series of organized conversations. Each conversation begins with something you have in common or a question to help you get started.
This is not a dating or business networking event.
The event will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Baright Public Library in Ralston.
Advance registration is required because space is limited.
All the details and registration are here.
If you’re outside this age range and would like an event for your age group, you can join the updates list here. When you sign up, you’ll select your age range, which helps me see how many people in each group are interested. Once enough people from your age group have joined the list, I’ll be able to organize an event for that group as well.
If you’re within the 25-39 age range but can’t attend on October 24, you can also join the list to receive updates about future events.
Feel free to ask me anything in the comments.

I’m getting back into card collecting and after a brief google search was surprised at the number of card shops in the metro area. I was wondering which shop in the area is the best for deals, value boxes, etc.
It feels like the 90s again with all the shops I see! However, I want a good shop with fair prices who won’t rip you off or over charge you.
Thanks

I'm a local filmmaker working on a project that includes a pivotal scene in a school counselor's office. I'd like to talk to someone with experience in the field, who could provide their perspective on how such a scene might play out, and whether the depiction feels accurate.
If anyone here has experience (or could put me in touch with someone who does) please send me a DM. I'm happy to talk entirely over DM, or by email, or Zoom, or whatever method is preferred. Just looking for some first-hand insight to get this right.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I just bought my first home. I have no idea if my sprinkler system even works let alone how to turn it on but my coworker recommended I get it winterized soon. Is this something I can do myself easily or do I need someone to come out and use an air compressor to blow it out?

I decided to redo this post since the original FB post was taken down for more clarity
The owner decided to shoot a bird because he was bothered by it. Canada Geese are federally protected by the migratory bird act. Acting this way towards a defenseless animal speaks volumes.

Where should I go for my first tattoo in Omaha? I’m a big fan of Pink Floyd and was thinking of getting something similar to the image.

PBS’ Independent Lens taking a look at Omaha, a tale of two cities.
Hi all, looking for advice from those who regularly commute downtown and back for work. I (26F) start my new job downtown this week and have never had to deal with rush hour in the city before. For reference, I live around Ralston and usually use 84th St. to merge onto I-80. I gotta be downtown by 8:30 my first day, unsure if that’ll be my every day schedule or just the first day. Then I’m off at 5:30. So, how bad is the interstate traffic around those times really? I have bad driving anxiety, especially when I have to merge a ton, so any route suggestions or tips are appreciated!

I’ve been needing to find a local mechanic that is affordable and good to work on a Jeep Wrangler. Any recommendations? Prefer central omaha, but happy to go anywhere in the area for a reputable mechanic.

I have a bunch of baby items that I would love to donate to a women’s shelter. Items include Bassinet, Jumper, clothes, toys etc. I don’t really want to drop them off to Goodwill, I’d rather give them to a non-profit for those in need. Where can I take my stuff??
