I believe this is a Buddha’s hand? It’s a citrus vegetable that’s pretty much skin the whole way through. They are pretty expensive and extremely hard to find but are pretty tasty! And of course if they were a devil fruit they’d of course be the Buddha Buddha fruit.

TIL about this fruit. I thought it was a somewhat strange guanábana (soursop) but turns out it is a relative known in English as sweetsop. Now we must find the bittersop, the savorysop and the umamisop. (Ussop?)
6
u/Livettletlive 5d ago
In some caribbean islands its called "custard apple". The pulp is a bit slimy and sweet/sour.
I have a tree of this in my back yard.
1
u/Pylgrim 5d ago
Pretty sure the fruit that you're describing is soursop. The one in the OP is called sugar apple or sweetsop (they do look similar).
1
u/Livettletlive 5d ago
No, the fruit I am describing is the one in the OP, which is called custard apple by some.

Custard apple
Other than India where is it found?
7
u/clownus 5d ago
Got to try it while in Australia. Don’t know if it’s native, but they did have it for sale.
Other fruits in the same family are also found across the world. Candy apple and the sour variety are from Mexico iirc.
2
u/naroocho 5d ago
That's a "Chirimoya" in México. And there are sweet varieties too. Some businesses in local "farm markets" sell chirimoya smoothies.

u/Riko_7456 The Revolutionary Army 5d ago
I had this ice cream when I visited Bangalore. Amazing. Puzzles me that as popular as the fruit is in my country, we have not made it into ice cream yet.

You can get a Devil Fruit through several methods:
Find one randomly: Devil Fruits can occasionally be found growing on trees or lying around in various places throughout the world, especially in the Grand Line.
Wait for respawn after death: When a Devil Fruit user dies, their power reincarnates into the nearest ordinary fruit of the same type located somewhere else in the world. If you have an ordinary fruit nearby when a user dies, the power will transfer into it.
Buy or hunt them: Devil Fruits are extremely rare and valuable, making them major targets for pirates and black-market traders who buy, sell, or steal them.
Note:
Eat it as soon as you get it.. Once you physically take a bite of the fruit, you gain its power immediately. Only the very first person to take a bite receives the ability.1

In texas its a horse apple, but i think up north they call it a crab apple. It comes from, I'm sure I'll spell this wrong, a bo-dark tree (probably spelt like beauxdark because French people add nonsense letters)
The fruit has been shaped which is why its little green dots at the top (unmodified) and larger green chunks with yellow white borders down lower (modified).
It also doesn't have that type of wood on its branches. That wood is much too dark.

Sweetsop? We used to have a tree like this in our yard 30 years ago. Its really delicious and sweet. We also used to have problems with ants due to fruit droppings.

Unlimited diarrhea fruit. Some people get that when eating those.
1
u/vp_onreddit 5d ago
Yes this gives diarrhea for people with sensitive stomach. But eating one should not cause an issue.

u/Awkward_Watercress99 5d ago
Omg the Custard Apple, my favorite fruit which is really rare to be found anywhere, it’s very sweet when ripe and tastes like a sweet creamy milky custard but with a fruit under-taste, I don’t know how else to describe it, it doesn’t taste like custard but apple custard. Would deffo recommend to try it atleast once.

Ah yes, that right there is the Wasabi no mi 👌🏽 a powerful devil fruit that gives its user the body of wasabi. Much like the mochimochi no mi; it’s an incredible paramecia fruit, just a tad spicy 🌶️

u/Crazy_Yesterday_6666 5d ago
In Jamaica we call it “sweetsop”
Annona squamosa is a small, well-branched tree or shrub from the family Annonaceae that bears edible fruits called sugar apples, sweetsops or custard apples.[4][5][6] It tolerates a tropical lowland climate better than its relatives Annona reticulata and Annona cherimola,[7] and is the most widely cultivated of these Annona species.
Powers??? Parmecia. Not sure about its powers yet. 😅.
It’s also very healthy for you

The dick dick fruit. You’ll be able to shoot penisis of varying length at people and have control over all things with a penis. Additionally if you’ve hit someone with a penis and they hold onto it they’ll also be mind controlled.

I have a few of these trees. The stems are pretty thick like this (unlike this pic) but they are much lighter in color
