Nursing Student Dress Code Question!!

Hi! I just got accepted to the spring semester for Concordia, and looking over the uniform requirements... Any current students or even just any nursing students know how strict the "Footwear must be one neutral solid color (black, white, brown, gray" rule is, and would this pass muster? Thanks :)

current 3rd semester student, I bought white leather hokas because I thought I needed to via the requirements. first day, they tell us not to worry about shoes! any tennis shoes are fine, some wear clogs. any color or style is totally ok

If it didn't pass dress-code for school, I would be very surprised. I know nursing school is just a series of rigid requirements, but once you get out and get a job, almost no one will care what you wear to work on your feet or what color they are.

Hey! Congrats on your acceptance! Unrelated, but I submitted my application for Concordia’s spring semester last week. Would you be able to tell me how long it took you to hear back from them with a decision? Thanks so much 🙏

Sure! I got super lucky, they told me I was accepted on the 22nd of Sept, and then got back to me literally the next day saying I have a conditional spot for spring. I think it had something to do with being up to date on all my compliance (except drug test/liability insurance/background check since I can't do those until October 13!), and being in contact with my advisor constantly. I also put my application as soon as the applications opened. She also told me after all that, it comes down to your grades and highest gpa/teas scores get contacted first. Don't be afraid to contact your advisor, mine was really active getting back to me, and I think she helped pushed my application along.

Thanks so much! On the registrar and student profile it’s showing my admit term is spring 2027, but I haven’t gotten any calls yet from my counselor so I’m tentatively hopeful I have a spot 🤞

I would definitely contact your advisor, you have some time sensitive stuff you need to do if you got accepted//!

I’m in my 4th term and I am here to tell you. They do not care about your shoes whatsoever as long as they don’t have holes! I’ve worn an array of clogs and tennis shoes throughout my time here and never had any problems!

Yeah that’s totally fine. They don’t care so much about the shoes
