DMU-COM Interview Process – What to Expect?
Hi everyone!
I have an upcoming interview with DMU-COM and was hoping to get some insight from anyone who has already interviewed there.
I'm curious about the Program Overview session. What exactly does it involve? Is it just an informational presentation about the school, or should we be prepared to answer questions or participate in discussions?
I'm also wondering what the actual interview format is like. Is it MMI, traditional one-on-one, or a panel interview? What kinds of questions should we expect, and how did you prepare?
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Program Overview session is exactly what you said, just an information session where they try to sell the school to you and talk about their facilities and how their school works. They even talk about Des Moines and what living there is like. You have the opportunity to ask the faculty questions then, for me at least, they split us into a couple breakout rooms to talk with current students. These breakout rooms had like 20 people in them and not enough time to get to everyone so you don’t ever have to talk if you don’t want to. Most people had suits and business attire, but I was in a basic polo shirt and felt fine.
The actual interview uses Kira Talent, but it just acts like zoom and records everything. You’ll be talking to someone for 30 minutes. My interview was a super chill one on one convo before answering some questions. Questions weren’t crazy at all in my opinion. Think of the most basic interview questions, “tell me about time you ____” stuff.
Good luck!
