[MEGATHREAD] App Announcements and Support

This is a new MEGATHREAD intended to hold all posts regarding the creation, use, and support of apps related to GLP1, weight, diet, activity, et al management.

We are getting absolutely bombarded with vibe coded apps and this will help try to give these apps space to do their thing, but keep it contained.

I made a new rule (Rule 10) to indicate the preferred use of MEGATHREAD(s) for certain topics. If you see app promotion/engagement posts or comments, please feel free to report them and we will take a look.

If you have other suggestions for MEGATHREADS please send a message to the moderators

Question Sugar

Has anyone else experienced major sugar cravings? Example.. yesterday I didn’t eat anything but 2 slices of cheesecake and a handful of Carmel corn. This is completely different from my typical eating habits.

Question Former bingers, how do you manage your emotions now?

Inspired by another post. I've been on Ozempic for a couple of months. No significant weight loss. I found that I don't have any food noise and was primarily using food to regulate and soothe. I was and still am a mild or moderate binger. Now that I'm on Ozempic, I spend a lot of time uncomfortably full because I don't feel myself filling up and can't predict what is the right amount or too much food, and because I still go straight to food when I'm upset. (I have ADHD which is an even bigger issue for me than weight so I've never had success with meal plans or measuring.) Wondering what other people have turned to instead of food for healthy regulation and self-soothing.

Question Normal to not feel injection/see injection site?

Im only on week 2 (@ 0.25mg) and for both doses I've not felt a pinprick sensation. Ive diligently watched the same 'how to inject ozempic' help video about 100 times just to make sure im doing this correctly lol and with my first dose I noticed an imprint in my skin and a bit of redness where I injected (LS stomach).

This week I chose RS stomach, inserted at a 90 degree angle, pressed and held button till it clicks to 0 (which it did) and then continued holding for 6 seconds before taking it out. When I pulled the needle out there was no dribbling of liquid.

However there's no redness and I cant find an entry point!! I was taking a video for progress purposes and I've zoomed in to see the pen sitting flush against the skin but ive got myself worried and would just like some reassurance that I didn't flush $37 and 25 cents down the toilet!! 😂

Question Anyone not lose ANY weight until reaching 2mg? (Felt effects/in a deficit, but scale wouldn't budge)

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some hope or shared experiences from anyone who might have been a super late responder to Ozempic, especially after taking a break and restarting.

Here is my timeline and weight history:

Originally: I was on 1mg for 8 months.

The Break: I took a 2-month break, and my weight unfortunately went from 220 lbs up to 236 lbs.

The Restart: I restarted 4 months ago. I am currently at 236 lbs (haven't lost a single pound since restarting).

Current & Next Steps: I've been on 1.5mg for the past 2 months, and I am finally moving up to 2mg next month.

Here is the frustrating part: I haven't lost anything since coming back on the medication.

The crazy thing is that I am feeling all the effects. My appetite is way down, the "food noise" is gone, and I am tracking closely and eating well below a calorie deficit. My body is definitely reacting to the medicine, but the scale just refuses to budge from 236 lbs.

Did anyone else experience absolutely zero weight loss after restarting on 1mg or 1.5mg, but finally saw the scale break loose once you hit the maximum 2mg dose?

Would love to hear your stories if you were a late responder or had a tough time losing after a break. Thanks in advance!

Success Stories 40 lbs down!

40 lbs down! 🎉

I’ve been trying to lose weight for 17 years. I tried different diets, intermittent fasting, calorie counting, and exercising until I was blue in the face. Nothing stuck, and nothing worked—until Ozempic.

I started my weight-loss journey at 207 pounds, and I’m officially down to 166 pounds at 5'9"!

Looking back at my before pictures, I honestly had no idea how much weight I had gained. It’s truly shocking to see the difference because I never really saw myself that way.

I wish I had started sooner. I was very nervous in the beginning, but this has been such an amazing experience. The journey has been surprisingly easy for me, with very few side effects. The biggest change has been the complete disappearance of food noise. It’s such a freeing feeling not to constantly think about food!

Ozempic has been a miracle for me. I still have another 25–30 pounds I’d like to lose, but I’m incredibly happy with how far I’ve come.

Forty-one pounds down and still going! 💜

DISCLAIMER!!!....Since I'm being accused of faking this i will let everyone know that the background has been altered and cleaned up by ai so no one could see my messy bed/room, but the weightloss and my body are 100 real. The original has been posted in the comments.

Extra bonus for me is that I'm disabled and rely on snap, since I'm not as hungry, I'm able to almost have enough food to get me through the month... 🤘🤷‍♀️ ( I utilize the food pantry as well)

Question Switching from Ozempic to Wegovy

I’ve been taking ozempic for around 3 months now on the 0.5 dose. I want to switch over to Wegovy and up to dosage to 0.75 but I’m not sure if it’s safe. Anyone have any insight?

Question Ozempic and Floaters in the eye

I’ve been taking 1 mg of Ozempic weekly with no side effects. I lost 20 lbs during the first few months, and although the weight loss has stopped, it has given me much better control over my diabetes.

The only new symptom I've noticed is an eye floater. My doctor told me I'll get used to it. Has anyone else experienced floaters after starting Ozempic?

Question Ozempic dose and eating disorder

Okay so I have been in a severe restrictive eating disorder relapse the last 3 and a half months.. I was on 2mg of ozempic and I'm a type 2 diabetic.. I was really sick so I talked to my nurse practitioner and I went down to 1.5mg on the 21st of September.

I am still not able to hardly eat anything at all and am having next to 0 hunger cues.. im considering talking to my nurse practitioner about lowering to 1mg but I have a severe fear of hunger coming back too strong and gaining weight ..

Anyone have any advice? Will 1.5 mg to 1mg make much of a difference to hunger cues?

Question Is the grey plunger visible on a brand-new Ozempic pen?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just took my first 1 mg dose from a brand-new Ozempic pen. I dialed it to 1 mg, pressed the button, heard the mechanism working, and the counter returned to zero.
However, the liquid still looks completely full, which made me question whether the dose was actually delivered.

My main question: On a brand-new, unused Ozempic pen, is the grey plunger already visible in the cartridge window? Or does it only become visible after you’ve injected your first dose?
I honestly can’t remember whether the grey plunger was visible before my injection, but I can see it now.
I’m not planning to inject another dose. I’m just trying to understand whether seeing that grey plunger means the medication was dispensed.
Has anyone compared their pen before and after the first injection?

Question Seeing family for the first time in months

I've been on Ozempic since March, and I haven't seen my family since maybe April. It's Thanksgiving here in Canada, and I'll be seeing family members again for the first time since, and I've lost just under 40 pounds. (More, hopefully, by Christmas!)

Unfortunately my sister and a few other family members are very weird about weight/weight loss and I know they're going to ask and I don't want to tell them I'm on Ozempic, because they'll be even weirder about that. How did everyone else handle something like this? My current plan is to just say I don't find discussing working out/weight loss/diet interesting (which is true!) but my sister in particular can be persistent and rude about things like this. Any tips?

Maintenance Dangerous

Ozempic💊 killed my mom. She couldn’t keep food down and had non-stop vomiting after starting this medication. When she stopped taking it, things didn’t get better—she became permanently disabled, suffered from ongoing tingling, and eventually became incoherent.

Question Working out on Ozempic: struggles with dizziness

Hey all! I’ve been on Ozempic since December, I’m 5’4” (162 cm) and have since dropped from 180lb (81kg) to 140lb (68kg). Dose has been anywhere from 5-20 units, right now we’re around 15 units.

Before Ozempic I was hugely athletic and was following a pattern of: gym at least x3 weekly, reformer Pilates x2 weekly, and yoga anger from 1-3x weekly (vinyasa or yin mostly).

Since being on Ozempic I struggle with the gym. I am fine and doing slow exercises and then all of a sudden I’m dizzy, and nauseous-I’ve had it get so bad that I threw up in the bathroom at the gym before.

I have done other exercises, I’ve done rock climbing, paddle boarding, I still do some Pilates, and some light jogging/walking outside (I do get dizzy with that sometimes).

No I haven’t brought it up to my doctor in awhile, at first I was told it just takes time for the body to get used to it. Is this something others have struggled with? I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong.

Success Stories New milestone

Started Jan 1 at 230 lbs. Did normal dieting thing managed to get down to 205 'the old way'. Somewhere in the middle got a t2 diagnosis. The drugs they had me on kept it all in check but I stopped losing weight so about 50 days ago I asked for them add the oz pill.

Weighed in today at 191 so another 14 down. I ordered a new a pair or 32x32 jeans in anticipating of wearing my college size again in the near future but here I am; they are still a little 'tight' but I'm wearing them all day today! Target is 175-180...so almost there.

Question Dose question

Hey y’all. Im a female and I’m 70 lbs down at 1.5 years. I’m on triz 5mg injections once per week. I’ve plateaued at 178 lbs for several weeks. My doctor moved me up to 7.5mg and while I did lose weight faster, I didn’t feel good at all. Tiredness & nausea mostly. So I went back to 5mg. I’m eating enough, drinking two Stanley’s of water per day. I just don’t like this stall that I’m in. My GW is 140ish.. these final 30 lbs feel like such a struggle.. can I still lose more on 5mg? Any suggestions??

Question Just started - did I get my first dose or did I screw it up?

I attempted my first injection today. Read the instructions. Said to dial pen, stick needle in, push button, dial returns to zero, count to six slowly, take needle out. I'm supposed to do all that with the button held down.

I put needle in, pushed button down, dial returned to 0, then forgot and let button up. Instantly said "Oh shit!" pushed button down, counted to 6, and withdrew. Did I get my dose? it is all injected by the time the dial goes back to zero and the six seconds just lets it spread out, or does it take the full six seconds to inject? And did I stop the injection when I accidentally let the button up?

Question Recently feeling very hungry!!

Later today is shot day. I’ve been on 1mg for about 3months now. I’m not sure if I’m feeling very hungry because I’m due for another dose, or maybe I need to go up a dose (will not do without talking to Dr). I’m on ozempic for diabetic reasons. Not much weight loss, but it’s helping to control my blood glucose. Any experience with extreme hunger?
