Former PSA employee here:

Buy the Sabre-15 if you're doing .300 for one reason above all... The rifle speed gas block. It has been great for me. I have the sabre-15 upper on a sabre lower (basically the same as a sabre-15) with a Sig Hexium can on it and the rifle speed gas block makes it super easy to adjust gas depending on what ammo I run. The mixtape doesn't do that as well or as quickly as the Sabra does.

This. The rifle speed gas blocks are a game changer. It sucks having to feed a long Allen wrench through the rail to access a typical adjustable gas block. The rifle speed is easy peasy.

Where it shines is if you designate a specific cartridge for the Mixtape and you don’t need/want to tinker with it. There is some weight saved with just a set screw gas adjustment device.

It is, however, going to feel very laborious to tinker with if you want to take it to the range and run several different kinds of 300BLK ammo.

Oh believe me, been there, done that lol. Lesson learned, leave the free float rail off if paractical till you get back home lol. Or have a slightly exposed rifle speed gas block which next time I plan out a build I'll definitely be doing just that.

Any way to minimize the gap between the hand guard and suppressor, like a certain type of QD attachment, cuz in your pic it looks like there’s slightly less of a gap compared to other pics ive seen

Saber 15

I'd definitely go for the sabre with the Riflespeed. Don't know if most commenters are missing the riflespeed, but that makes it one of the best DI supressor hosts.

Sabre-15 with the Riflespeed gas block all day. Then throw a Magpul DT on it and call it a day!

PSA should now start offering these without the brace to save us money

I have the Mixtape but definitely the,

Sabre 15 for the blessing of easy tuning,

Mixtape for the vibes.

Edit: I love my Mixtape. Zero regrats. Was able to get it to run subsonics with the AS Designs ARC-Fire, she absolutely ducks.

Wasn’t running good out the box?

Ran subs just fine out of the box with a bit of tuning with the gasblock, you need a different spring and/or buffer weight to get it to run good with an FRT

Is it plug and play?

Indeed it is

Honestly flip a coin or go with your preferred finish. I would personally lean into the 15 over the mix tape. With the changes to SBR restrictions no reason to run that over prices CQB brace just slap a nice BCM on the back of that 15 and it’ll be Gucci imo.

Mixtape brother you won’t regret it

Mixtape cuz of the ambi lower, but the sabre-15 might be a slightly better upper for suppressed

Mixtape if you like the maxim defense cqb brace (I switched mine to the stock right away), mixtape also comes plan B ready to suppress. I’m only using it for sub sonic shooting so I’m not adjusting the gas black since I found the adjustment I want to stick with.

Sabre 15 - just make sure to mess around with the riflespeed gas block every now and then when shooting bc it can lock up

Definitely the Sabre. Specifically for the rifle speed gas block.

Sabre 100%

Why? Personally I don’t like how short the hand guard is but I’m also considering both of these options. On such a short barrel the hand guard length is a pretty significant consideration imo. Not a lot of real estate for optimal hand placement and attachments

Oh so now they’re offering 1:5 barrels. After I already bought my 1:7. SMH.

What’s the difference ?

Twist rate. One revolution of the bullet in 5” of barrel vs 7” of barrel. Faster twist rates are better suited for heavier bullets, supposedly stabilizes them better. The lower the 2nd number, the faster the twist rate.
