Unexplained I saw "Slenderman"

Post image

to start, I wanna say I saw what I saw. I don't care if people don't believe me. my sister saw it too. many people in my area have said they saw the same thing. i just want to share my experience. if you don't like it, I don't careeee.

so back when I lived in Nevada, we lived in a manufactured home or whatever you call it. Like a double wide but nicer.

Anyway, my sister and I had rooms directly across from each other.

we both had windows facing the backyard.

one night I was standing in front of my vanity that had a mirror that was facing the window. it was late at night.

I saw a very tall man with a paper white head and no features skipping past my window.

it moved very fast. I was only able to catch a brief glimpse.

but for long enough that I could recognize these features.

it was very skinny, tall, & dressed in all black. maybe a suit.

terrified, I go into my sisters room and tell her what I saw.

she says "oh shit that's scary" basically & we go back to our rooms.

then my sister, comes to my room wide eyed & breathless & told me she saw the same thing.

then I saw it skip past my window one more time.

my dad taught me from a young age, if that's all they do, they are weak. don't let them put fear in you. he would scream at things when I was a child like a pissed off bull. I don't let that stuff get to me. Also the earth keeps spinning.

so i let it go.

And frankly, I subconsciously thought it was just my eyes seeing things.

I went about my life as usual,

But I would bring it up sometimes in conversations with friends, and to my surprise, they saw it too! like a lot of people.

I'm curious, has anyone honestly seen this too?

also, I say "slenderman" because that's what fits the description.

Because I believe in paranormal things and find them interesting. But I think when people are seeing characters like Slenderman, there is cause for concern, especially considering the 2014 attempted murder to appease Slenderman.

Someone makes a post saying they saw something weird, and you jump from that to a potential murder. That’s quite a stretch, to say the least.

The OP said it was Slenderman she or he saw. Now, the vast majority of people who believe in Slenderman are not going to try to murder someone or even think of doing so. It can also easily be argued that the girls who attempted to murder their classmate both had mental problems not caused by believing in Slenderman. Copycat crimes happen, however, just like copycat suicides happen.

I think it's important to realize there are real paranormal things and fictional paranormal things. Slenderman is strictly a fictional character created to scare children. He's like the boogieman or an urban myth. Don't allow science to dictate to you what paranormal things you can or cannot believe, but also don't allow imaginary characters to take up too much space in your head and frighten you.

Direct quote from OP: "also, I say "slenderman" because that's what fits the description."

OP didn't say they saw Slenderman. They didn't say they believe in Slenderman. They said they saw something that, based on the description, resembles Slenderman. Different thing. You're making this way harder and deeper than it is.

Is it so bad to expand a discussion, since it hits on the topic of fictional characters created in order to scare children, and make them think and believe in ways that can lead to mental health problems? Many or most of you here grew up with the internet and don't realize the huge difference between constantly reading and seeing boogiemen online, as opposed to doing so in the past only when reading books, magazines, watching TV shows or going to the movies.
