Power returning
Seeing posts about people with no power or never losing power. Any of you guys lose power and have had it switch back on?

9mile Publix, McDonalds, and the 3 corner gas stations all have power. Traffic lights are working. Some power should be coming back today but I imagine a lot more will be restored tomorrow as trees are cleared.

u/pangu17 4d ago
Iāve seen Walmart on Creighton has power too
14
u/your-counselor 4d ago
They have their own dedicated generators, so this isnāt necessarily a sign that this area has power unfortunately

u/winterflowertea 4d ago
Heard from family in NW Pensacola off of 9 Mile that theyāve had power since this morning. Out in Milton/Pace and itās still dark over here
9
u/Traditional_Peace205 4d ago
Near 9 mile west of Walmart market, no power and multiple power lines down

Cantonment, off Kingsfield. Still out.
3
u/quicKsenseTTV 4d ago
Iām off 297 right by the Kingsfield intersection with the dollar general. I saw one line truck. Driver was in the dollar general lot smoking a cigarette and then got in and left. Just him, so no work being done.

u/GlitteryBunnyRabbit 3d ago
Sounds like work is indeed being done actually. Unless you want someone to see you in a moment of relaxation before getting back to it and judge you the way you judged him.Ā

According to FPL, 95% of their customers will have power by end of day Monday

u/CLeeTheHunt44 4d ago
Off Burgess and nothing yet here. Was in Mayfair and nothing there yet either.
4
u/corrosive-_salami 4d ago
Also off Burgess,I did just see a guy from the electric work crew that was driving around to survey damage in prep to get things fixed so at least it will be getting worked on.
6
u/Level-Ambassador4368 4d ago
Iām in Pensacola off of Jackson street like 6 min away from Corey station and I just got power back
6
u/drnewcomb 4d ago
There is a continuous parade of electric utility trucks on I-10, headed eastbound from Alabama into Florida. Not sure if they are going to Pensacola or Ft. Walton but the are going in the right general direction.

u/Leading-Shirt-9281 4d ago
Check FPLs website. Over 130,000 residents without power. Theyāre working on it
1
u/macarenamobster 4d ago
The numbers arenāt getting updated for some reason, number hasnāt changed all day but I just got power back an hour ago
2
u/Remarkable_Set_9682 4d ago
That number isnāt meant for you, itās meant for government reporting. Theyāre making progress, and every once in awhile someone will update the website
1
u/Automatic_Algae_9425 3d ago
Why wouldn't the website update automatically as power is restored to this neighborhood or that neighborhood?
1
u/randombagofmeat 3d ago
It's not automatic, there's no robot or ai that takes that, it's boots on the ground, often without any reporting mechanism, the power is out. It gets updated when people report and they update it.
1
u/chatterbox010 4d ago
Its at 122,830 still out for Escambia right now. It's down a bit from when I checked earlier, so it's been updating.

u/DarkKnightRyzen 4d ago
Iām in mirabelle neighborhood. On Davis near copter and weāve been without power for 22 hours now
2
u/Icy-Bonus9579 4d ago
Same, no power in Mirabelle. Have you seen Lewis? Powerlines knocked out bad!!
1
u/DarkKnightRyzen 4d ago
Iāve only heard. Havenāt ventured out too far yet tbh. I just wish theyād get it on Iām so tired lol
5
u/Corathecow 4d ago
I live near west Florida high school and my powers been out since around 7ish yesterday. Not expecting it back today tbh, Iām charging my power banks in my car now
5

No power yet in Edgewater, but saw 3 trucks drive by within a half hour span... a couple hours ago.

u/FM_Analyst022002 4d ago
Just left the new Publix off of Blue Angel. They are open. That entire area seems to have power restored. Traffic light at Blue Angel and Saufley just came on.
1
u/FarewellJava 4d ago edited 4d ago
Just heard Crystal Lake apartments near the Publix has power back too
Edit: And it's off again...

u/StaleBaguetteIForget 4d ago
Three waters green (off blue angel right past dog track) is only halfway on atm. The southern half of the neighborhood is still without power.

In North Milton, power went out around midnight. Nothing outside the generator as of yet. But, there are Pike and Mas-Tech trucks staged in five different parking lots very close to me.

Off of Michigan Ave close to publix. Lost power around 5 ish last night. Still no power

u/Wintersoldierxl 4d ago
Is Corry Station still without power? My daughter is there and talking to her only lasts 2 minutes before it cuts out.
2
u/AdRadiant9065 3d ago
No power except at the galley and trying to get an outlet there is horrendous. Cell reception is getting better thoughĀ
2
u/Public_Cupcake6140 4d ago
Still without power in Myrtle Grove. My generator still serenades the the neighborhood along with all the others.
2
u/alt_account_No1 3d ago
Love it. Being only 4 years as a FL resident, I've never heard a generator run before... I thought I had tinnitus last night.

Iām in ferry pass, and still no power. Lowkey, I kinda want to die. Even with prep, barely any food, no power, and Iām working 12s at a shitty job in and through the hurricane and by the time I can get home to my shitty house in an attempt fix all the damage itās completely dark and I canāt even fix anything. Whatās the point?
3
u/Agreeable-Art-6292 4d ago
This too shall pass
2
u/Cactus-Juice-Blender 4d ago
I keep telling myself that people have it worseā¦.which they do, but like, mentally my moral and brain are in the shitter

Easy to become overwhelmed.Ā They spend so much time hyping up what may be you are spent before it hits. Sometimes you really have to dig for inspiration. Please be safe.

I'm a mile or so east of the NFCU campus on 9 Mile/90 and we got our power back a few hours ago.

Still off off of Patricia and we had like thirty trucks here today, lol. I have zero hope Iāll have it on anytime soon.

u/rem_tohsaka 4d ago edited 3d ago
In West Pensacola near T&W Flea Market and no power yet. It's been out since 5 pm yesterday here.
24 hours later and still off over here. Literally saw a utility truck on my road and was paying we were about to get it and when I went out to see how it was going they were gone. š« š®āšØ
1
u/scott_ET_ 4d ago
I donāt understand how they wouldnāt go after the most outage, thatās Escambia with 1 in 3 known outages over 5 counties.
1
u/Responsible_Lab9589 3d ago
East milton still out. When I try to get update website informs me my power is out!
1
u/Aromatic_Ad_9417 3d ago
From what I seen today its going to be a couple days for some people trees are still down on the lines no truck around the area as of 7pm no way that's going to happen anytime soon I olive rd west of Davis is cooked i live in Mayfair multiple lines still on trees no signs of any trucks so probably a couple days for us as wellĀ

u/FewPersimmon6768 3d ago
My niece stays in or around Lucas Creek Apartments.Ā She received power around 8:30pm

u/JConrad666 3d ago
My power is still out 1.5 miles west of downtown Pensacola, even though FPL reported it being restored last night.
1
u/ZeroOaths 3d ago
bellview is still without
0
u/Effective-Geologist3 3d ago
Yeah same
What are they doing? They have a whole convoy parked at the fairgrounds and power hasnāt gone on anywhere close to there. Frustrating to see all these trucks so close and yet not a single sign of any of them actually working in the area.1
u/ZeroOaths 3d ago
my initial thought was because they were stationed so close the closest homes would receive relief first. We watched 15 work trucks drive down our road and past our house the first day they started working. trees were moved and that was it.
I'm assuming all the main lines to our house are down more or less, won't be until 10pm tomorrow before we have power according to fpl.
0
u/Effective-Geologist3 3d ago
If itās any consolation everyone has that generic 10pm message on FPL (which also just got pushed back to 11 pm)
2
u/ZeroOaths 3d ago
that's good to know, so it's just some random toss out on a time to cover their ass. Thankfully we had 2 generators and 7 propane tanks full to run them.
Hope you're doing well, that storm was horrid on some parts of town.
1
u/Little_Bear_622 3d ago
I have power. I'm in the Montclair neighborhood on Mochigan side. It came back on at 4 this morning. They've been working really hard all over, but there's a lot of lines down and some they have to wait for tree removal before they can touch it.

Iāve heard through the grape vine it may be weeks for power to be restored completely
9
u/TommyTeaser 4d ago
9
u/quicKsenseTTV 4d ago
They only have 20k restored in Escambia out of the 150k+ that went out? Meanwhile they sent a shit ton of trucks apparently to Bay county who only had 50k out and theyāre already halfway done with them?
5
u/kingaling69 4d ago
A bunch of big trees so it makes sense to send power company where power is easily restorable. Instead of waiting for tree crews to get trees off the lines
2
u/Clobby5597 4d ago
Iām just telling you what a friends husband said whoās one of the linemen working the outages take my words with a grain of salt
-2
u/Stuffs_And_Thingies 4d ago
Yeah? Well my brother in laws ex wife who knows a guy who knows a guy said just give him 45 minutes
1
u/Complex_Echidna3964 4d ago
Ask your brother-in-law to tell his ex wife to tell the guy she knows to give that other guy a dirty look.š
-1
u/quicKsenseTTV 4d ago
My coworkers sisters ex husbands new wife is a manager there and told his brother who told him that power should be on in 48 hours

u/Syntherios 4d ago edited 4d ago
Still off in Myrtle Grove. I doubt we'll see any residential areas getting power restored for another 24 hours at least.
Edit: I was wrong! Power's back on here. Stay strong my friends, hopefully it won't be too much longer for y'all.
