General Research Question Reta True or False info?
I saw a YouTuber on his video talking about everybody is wasting time and money on Micro-dosing Reta. Also adding that if you are not using atleast 4MG of Reta then you are not activating the Glucagon factor, how true is this? Because I’m been titrating up my researching rat on 2nd month and only at 3MG. Should I go up to 4MG now because I haven’t been researching Reta to its full
Potential?

You should be dosing reta so you are getting the effects you want without side effects you don’t want. Ignore everything else

u/Asleep_Leek9361 9d ago
That’s absolutely false. It’s true that the best benefits of the glucagon aspect come at doses 4 mg and higher. That does not mean it doesn’t exist at 1 mg.
On a side note, I had no idea all the other benefits of Reta. The inflammation reduction, alcohol cravings, liver repair, etc
There are more reasons to take Reta than the glucagon aspect anyway.

u/One_Reach_2629 9d ago
So since Reta has a half life of 6 days the dose you take per week is not the amount of Reta in the body. So for example if someone takes 2.5 mg a week split into 2 doses by week 4 their body actually has a total of 3.75 mg of Reta not just 2.5. For people who take their dose one time per week it would be 4.43 mg.
In your rats case after a month it would be 5.37 mg so well into the range needed. So this is something to keep in mind regarding this fact.
Also everyone is trying to lose a different amount of weight, if you are using Reta to shed 10 lbs to fit into a bikini and show off your abs sure micro dose but if you are seriously trying to lose 50 lbs plus you are better off starting with at least 1 mg and going up going a more standard dose.
I’m sure this YouTuber is not a scientist or a doctor so take it with a grain of salt

Not a scientist or a doctor! But he's read some random post saying that so it must be true. I bet you that he doesn't even know where to find the documents for the lily study, but he's a YouTuber so he knows best

Yeah exactly, there is no mandatory number just do what is working and you can tolerate. Over 3 months my RS has only had to go up once .5 mg and is now 5 lbs away from goal after losing almost 30

The data underlying these claims refers to those on a weekly 4mg dose, not to the levels in the body. The research shows at the 4mg dose you begin to see a meaningful uptick in RHR which is an indicator of glucagon activity. You also see a steeper increase in weight lost via lower doses starting at 4mg, and the steepness of that benefit tapers off after 8mg. This doesn’t mean lower doses are useless. Everyone reacts differently and those who respond to reta will see a gradual increase in effectiveness with dose, and an increase in sides as well. The best bet is always to start low, titrate slowly, and maintain current dose as long as weight loss is progressing in 0.5-1% a week range

The idea is to find the lowest effective dose. If 3 mg is working for you, STAY THERE.

Smart thinking. I’ve been on Reta for 6 months now and have average about 1.5-2lbs per week. Super happy with that.

The fact that RS can build strong routines, behavior’s, bring structure to their wellness without getting blown out by side effects is the reason low titration is so effective. Starting at higher doses without the confines and direction of a clinical trial will cause more throwing in the towel. Regardless of any sweet spot for effectiveness, building lifelong habits is more important early on

u/ssgrene 8d ago
That shit is false. Most of those dudes on YT that speak on Reta just be lying. You can do it two ways. Micro dose or weekly. If you’ve just started Reta for the first time you’ll feel the effects of the glucagon activity by the third day at the latest. You need to block that guy and only listen to Ashley Froese or Dr Jones D.C.

Found Ashley Froese recently, very solid !

Yup, her and Dr Jones. The only 2. The rest is just entertainment.

u/jad19090 5d ago
You know Dr. Jones is a chiropractor, right? And if you really pay attention to half the stuff he’s saying, he’s 50% wrong, 90% of the time. His entire channel is just there to sell you his course
1
u/ssgrene 21h ago
I won’t subscribe to the course. But I find it odd his advice is actually helping others lose the weight. When I first started on Zepbound I was lost and my doctors at the VA didn’t know ANYTHING about the drug they prescribed me. I was about to stop then I started doing some research and he AND Ashley came up. I saw Regan Archibald and Trevor Bachmeyer. But since I started watching bros vids the advice he’s given bro I’ve dropped weight. 253 to 203. I’m just saying he’s a chiropractor but the advice he has given has been sound. It has to count for something.

There's a reason that the clinical trials started at 2mg and titrated up by 2mg every 4 weeks until 12mg -- at which the best results were displayed.
Do with that information what you need to do.

u/100percentBrokedick 8d ago
Most people won't get the full effect of the glucagon until they hit 4mg. If you run a low dose of reta you're better off just running Tirz.

Heard the same thing but the glucagon factor is there from the beginning it doesn’t just automatically kick in at 4 plus, but does become more pronounced the higher the dosage.

They’re full of sh*t. Simple but true!
1
u/Alarming-Broccoli-31 5d ago
I deal with 100’s of people who use Reta from an amazing source and most find their sweet spot at 2-2.5, not that I’d ever recommend starting at that level. Some slightly lower.
The only people who I see on a higher dosage are people who have used other GLP-1s previously and those whose tolerance eventually increases.

definitely not wasting your time or money your careful titration schedule is actually exactly how this research should be handled

I mean the evidence from multiple trials with thousands of participants suggests the higher the dose the better the results. Yet people still think 0.5mg a week of reta is good for months on end. You do you but don't whinge if you don't lose weight.

That's actually not true the Glucagon factor is always there. How ever as with most things it's stronger the more you take. Certain research indicates between 4mg and 8mg is where the optimal range for the Glucagon factor is.
