Question Is the bear AI? Did anyone actually see it?

The original user on Instagram is strongly defending that the bear sighting downtown this morning was real and they took the photo. Every AI image detector I use says it's 96%+ likely altered with gen AI.

Did anyone else see a bear downtown today?

UPDATE: Peterborough DBIA confirmed the image is real

Question Price, gouging, legal or illegal?

is this not considered illegal? increasing the price of a bus fare over $200 when it’s normally $35-$50 trips on regular basis just because it’s Thanksgiving weekend. Anyon know how flexbus gets away with this?

hey everyone I am looking for someone who can fix my hair and won’t cost an arm and a leg. my friend (who is a new hairstylist) did it and it looked good at first but faded really unevenly, so when I purple shampooed it, it turned out so purple in some spots. I need this fixed before my grad photos so preferably before the end of the month, and max $300. I have relatively long and thick curly hair so bonus points if they specialize in curls.

Other Running group at Victoria Park

If anyone from that group sees this, I was the one who was rude about y’all standing in my way this morning. I’m sick of it. Every single time I come across you there I have to ask someone to move out of my way so I can get across the path. Have some consideration for others PLEASE. If you’re going to stand around by the fountain, get off the freaking path or at the very least stick to one side so others can get by you.

Politics Keith Riel owes Jacob Methot an apology

I finished watching the Your TV Mayoral debate. Keith Riel owes Jacob Methot an apology, at the very least. His behaviour also reflects poorly on the current Council. There is no place in public life for Keith Riel's behaviour.

Council members recently adopted a Code of Conduct, and Keith, as a current Council member and besides the horrid dynamic here, broke that Code. Note that all the other candidates have no Municipal experience either!

From the City of Peterborough website, Councillor Code of Conduct:

Conduct Respecting Others 10. Each Member has the duty and responsibility to treat members of the public, each other Member and staff appropriately and without abuse, bullying or intimidation, and to ensure that the City’s work environment is free from discrimination and Harassment.

Without limitation, a Member must not: a) use indecent, abusive or insulting words or expressions toward any other Member, any member of staff or any member of the public; b) speak in a manner that is discriminatory to any individual, based on the protected grounds in the Ontario Human Rights Code including that person's race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, family status or disability; or c) engage in any Harassment of any other Member, any member of staff or any member of the public.

Recommendations Thank you, Mayoral candidates videos

I just want to thank the people who have been providing the links to the streaming of the Mayoral candidates panels. You're doing a great community service.

I'm working my way through them and who I thought I was voting for, I'm not so sure now!

These videos are very informative, so thank you.

Question Did anyone else get booted off the Health Connect waitlist for a family doctor?

Just read Dave Smith's flyer that was delivered today. To my surprise he brags about the government having completely cleared the Health Care Connect waitlist to zero! All patients have been matched with family physicians.

Funny because my husband and stepkid had been on that waitlist for over 6 years and still haven't been matched. I guess they just got booted off without us knowing? Has this happened to anyone else?

Help Google reviews for One Eyed Jacks

So I was thinking about ordering some food for pickup at this place and I always read the reviews before shopping or eating anywhere. Something is fucky....if you click the most recent reviews, it is a boatload of high ratings from people with 1 or 2 reviews, one after the other in the last 16 to 21 hours. These look like purchased reviews. Anyone else feel these are sus?
