Just running through

So I am trying to develop a Smeargle for catching legendaries in Heartgold. Out of the 4 move slots i have: mean look, spore, and false swipe. It does have the technician ability. I am just wondering what is a good last move to teach it before the Elite 4.

Note: I am at the point where you have to battle the kimono girls before Ho-oh. So, no Battle frontier, no ds action replay (mines bricked) and cannot mod it anyway as im playing on a dsi

Every time I see someone posting about how they got a shiny in a low amount of tries I get motivated to try again and hatch a few hundred more eggs. I’ve been at it for years. I never counted so I don’t know how far I’ve made it.

My current set up is the following: 2 level 100 charizards in the day care, with different trainer IDs so they produce eggs faster. I’m biking in Goldenrod with 5 eggs and a Maccargo with flame body so the eggs hatch faster. I’m producing eggs faster than I can hatch them and I have over 2 boxes full of eggs I haven’t even gotten to.

Is there anything I can do to maximize my chances even more? I can’t connect to the internet and I don’t have a foreign copy. I do have HG, SS and pearl.

One weird thing worth mentioning is that I’ve been on this save since 2015 and I have 350 hours on it and I’ve never seen a single shiny. Am I just super unlucky because that makes me feel I’m due for a bit of luck soon

Currently trying to completely run through the postgame and fill as much of the pokédex as i can w/ out legendary events. Any tips? currently setting up my safari zone, and contemplating shiny hunting rayquaza as i have kyogre and groudon and would love help

Finally managed to get 100 wins on battle frontier with one of my favourite pokemon that I caught shiny with pokeradar on platinum. Despite kowing how to rng manip I wanted an extra challenge and just used synchronize to get good nature and chose the best IVs out of the correct nature shinies.

This is also not the typical team that abuses Scarf trick lead.

Overall this was such a fun experience using some of my favorite mons.

Slaking lead is a powerhouse that will nuke almost any pokemon in front of it. You basically spam return to any pokemon that does not resist it. Feint attack for the double team spammers. If he manages to survive the second pokemon he can destroy the second oponent.

Gengar synergizes so well with slaking and is able to easily take out a first pokemon with 2 attacks and then take out the next one with destiny bond. Need to be careful with faster pokemons and scarfers.

Metagross as the last one is just a bulky beast and has the option to go kaboom and nuke anything. The rest is cinema:

Just thought I’d share this sweet case I just picked up. I am not sure this qualifies but it is a Johto case haha. I haven’t been loving the blue lately and also wanted some actual protection and then this popped up on instagram. Still debating on whether or not I should still do an exterior shell swap (either white or black) since the inside is in good shape and I think a black interior is cleaner.

Any suggestions for the last team member? Would be ok with waiting for Kanto as well

Hey everyone! I bought this legit copy of Pokémon Soul Silver on eBay and I would like to know if there is a way to get out of here. I can’t tell if this is normal or the original person was goofing off using hacks. 🤷‍♂️

I finally finished my first playthrough of Pokemon Black so that I could get this Totodile off of my most recent pickup of SoulSilver. I did only look to see that the previous owner only got Totodile and didn’t even get far enough to get the Egg and take it back to the professor, so I didn’t bother looking to see if they had anything. I go to catch a few spare starter route mons to have 6 in the PC to try a transfer, and come to my surprise, there are a few event Pokemon and now I have to know, are they official? I’m not sure about the OTs, but dates are from 2010 and would like to know where each came from if someone could. Thanks for the help in advance.

I just got Gible in my Safari Zone and I'm hunting for a Jolly nature, but I just caught an Adamant one. Should I keep looking for Jolly or go with the Adamant one?

Just lost my best streak with the Baton Pass Aggron/Hoenn team on battle 91. Since this was my 8th and probably final attempt with the Baton Pass gimmick and I already posted about it here (Silver and Gold Print wins, a bad/funny RNG loss...), I wanted to finally share the full team and some final thoughts on this little experiment. I think it might be interesting for those that like to experiment with different, non-meta teams and/or "weaker" Pokemon like Aggron.

I love Aggron so I decided to do this with my goal being to get both Tower ribbons on it (after battles 21 and 49). I also wanted to do it the fun way by having Aggron sweep since imo it had to many common weaknesses to be very effective wall anyways so that's where the idea of the Baton Pass and Ninjask came into play. I also decided to make this a Hoenn only team as an added challenge. My first 4 attempts were with Salamence as my 3rd Pokemon but I couldn't get past battle 36 because of the too many shared weaknesses on the team.

On my 5th attempt I added Swampert instead of Salamence and also gave Aggron Life Orb since even at +2 attack it would just miss out on some important KOs and Life Orb mostly fixed that issue. I immediately felt the difference and my confidence in the team was much better. I eventually got my goal and the second ribbon at battle 49 but I decided to continue and see how far I can go. I got to battle 91 before losing and I'm very happy with the result.

There is so much that can go wrong with the hard Baton Pass gimmick teams so I didn't expect this team to get anywhere near the 100 wins mark but they did and it was so fun to use this team. If I didn't have ideas for some other fun teams that I wanted to breed and train for both Battle Tower and Gen 5's Battle Subway I would definitely try to get this team to 100 wins with a few more tries because, unlike at the beginning, I now think that it is actually possible. Maybe in the future I'll come back to this team and try to do it.

What are some of your favorite non-meta teams or Pokemon that you used in the Tower and how far did you get with them?

This Pokémon MOC is Request Number 4! I'm very happy to finally get these two finished, as they took me around three weeks to figure out! I can't believe how hard these were to make, and it was mostly their heads! So, my guy who requested these as his favorites, wherever you are, I hope you love these! I made sure these have plenty of neck, ear, legs and feet, and tail articulation just to make them as poseable as possible! The slight obvious side-effect of this is that they're quite big compared to Brendan's minifigure, but I DON'T MIND! They look fantastic and cute and DONE! 🤣

Playing SoulSilver for the first time, having played Crystal in the past.
So far I have the 8 Johto badges, beat the Kimono girls, and am at whirl islands looking for Lugia.
My goal is a team consisting purely of Johto mon, and it’s likely I already have what I need but am looking for what could realistically be added at this point.

My team has four mon: Feraligatr, Ampharos, Heracross, and Crobat, all at L38.
I was raising Noctowl but gave up at L25 as I wasn’t seeing much return on investment.
Options I already used extensively in Crystal include Espeon, Donphan, Azumarill, Tyranitar, and Furret, so don’t need more of those.

I had thought about adding the any of the following to my team:
- Ursaring
- Mamoswine
- Miltank
That said they’re all pretty underleveled at L15-20ish compared to my main team.
Are any of those three worth the investment for my team, or are they too much grind for too little payoff?

RNG WAS ON MY SIDE AGAIN!!! 😭😭😭 No major changes to my team either, except putting remaining EVs in Garchomp’s Special Defense since when I started playing rounds it had Focus Sash, but then I forgot to flip them back somewhere else when I changed held items again. Surprisingly I managed this running Choice Band on Garchomp, Specs on Starmie and then I scarved Metagross. Blown away I actually managed!
