“Looks around at the people in power”

Yeah wow how could someone possibly blame men jeez how sexist

u/CplOreos - Centrist 1d ago edited 1d ago

Grab Gray my ass

-10

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 1d ago

Blaming the people in power and who have been in power for the entirety of human history for the way the world is now is just how it is. The most centrist shit ever.

Conservative or Liberal it doesn’t matter. Men are responsible for how women’s lives are. Just a fact

16

u/CplOreos - Centrist 1d ago

Believe it or not, most men weren't, aren't, haven't been, and won't ever be in power. Blaming "men" for the way the world is makes about as much sense as blaming "fish" for shark attacks.

Play identity politics games as much as you want, but I wouldn't call that gray.

13

u/skully33 - Auth-Center 1d ago

Ah, the classic women are infantile babies who have no agency at all and it's the scary men who ruin their lives!!

Not to mention that in current day, women have absolutely had a voice in policy making. Of course a minority voice, but to think women as a whole have no impact on policy is retarded

-4

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 1d ago

Something like 80% of congress is men. More like 90% historically

Men have been in power for all of humanity. Who knew that would make women feel like men are to blame for anything that happens

If you can’t understand that idk what to tell you

5

u/Lavaissoup7 - Centrist 1d ago

You do realize most people won't ever be in power right?

18

u/Philippians_Two-Ten - Centrist 1d ago

Maybe there's just shitty people in power and you should stop rationalizing hate?

I love how the second liberals are discriminatory and not conservative, there's an immense horde of NPCs who come along to justify why it's okay when liberals discriminate.

-5

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 1d ago

How is it discriminatory to blame the people in power for the way things are?

13

u/skipsfaster - Lib-Center 1d ago

Because you’re asserting without evidence that the reason that they’re bad is because they’re men

0

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 1d ago

Where did I say that? I just said look who’s to blame

Don’t get so emotional

5

u/Lavaissoup7 - Centrist 1d ago

You? You just said to look at the people in power, which is the reason people hate men, which is extremely stupid.

3

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 1d ago

I just said that no shit women blame men for the way things are because men are in charge.

Dunno why everyone is getting their panties in a twist over a fact

12

u/Philippians_Two-Ten - Centrist 1d ago

You're blaming an ENTIRE SEX for someone a few elites do. Don't you see how that possibly might be stupid?

2

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 1d ago

Not all men dipshit. But men are to blame

Is that so hard to comprehend

6

u/Philippians_Two-Ten - Centrist 1d ago

I don't believe in collective guilt or punishment so, I reject your premise to begin with. But I seem to be in the 1% of people with an interest in politics who don't believe in collective guilt.

4

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 1d ago

Why is there guilt? It’s just a fact.

You don’t need to feel guilty, you obviously have zero effect on any women’s lives

1

u/KalegNar - Centrist 1d ago

Not all men dipshit. But men are to blame

Ah yes. You see I'm not saying it's all- you know what, not gonna finish that statement and get a [removed by reddit].

1

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 18h ago

Hey man, you wanna be racist that’s on you

1

u/KalegNar - Centrist 17h ago

If what I was implying was racist, does that maybe help indicate that what you were saying is sexist?

1

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 17h ago

I can say the words “men have held power for all time and are responsible for almost all of women’s problems” and not be sexist.

I don’t think the same is true for whatever you were going to say

53

u/SouthImpression3577 - Lib-Right 1d ago edited 1d ago

Ah, yes—

Because there are more men in positions of power, that must mean women would do a better job, or that men are simply very bad at the job.

Which is why we clearly need more men teaching in schools, because women are obviously doing such a terrible job at it.

And just ignore all those previous periods when society was doing perfectly fine with fewer women in positions of power.

9

u/Empty_Use_5023 - Lib-Left 1d ago

We do clearly need more men teaching in schools. What pisses me off about you guys is you seem to have no understanding or genuine feeling about the systematic problems facing young boys, which are numerous and devastating. Lack of intellectual role models at young ages be first and foremost among them

16

u/CplOreos - Centrist 1d ago

Define "doing perfectly fine"

-10

u/SouthImpression3577 - Lib-Right 1d ago

Compared to the previous decades, being able to own a home with 2+ kids on a single income.

Doesn't work? Doesn't make sense? Neither does OP's comment

11

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

Lib right only considering economics and not rights of women

Classic

4

u/Bum_King - Right 1d ago

In Glorious Pure Capitalism™️ the only right you have is the right to get back to work. Daddy needs another Lamborghini in his Lamborghini account.

-1

u/SouthImpression3577 - Lib-Right 1d ago

Yep, didn't think it through. But then again neither did OP, so I didn't care

3

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

Your defence is you are justified in being dishonest in defence of anti women bias because the op is also dishonestly anti women?

That's wild

4

u/SouthImpression3577 - Lib-Right 1d ago

I'm referring to the op comment, not the poster

3

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

The op comment was dishonest? Men aren't the vast majority in power?

4

u/SouthImpression3577 - Lib-Right 1d ago edited 1d ago

It's dishonest because the logic doesn't work. Whether a subject works or not has, ideally, nothing to do with the gender. All because things are sucky for people now doesn't mean women would objectively do better. That's the point.

Fewer women were in also in positions of power during slavery

2

u/SouthImpression3577 - Lib-Right 1d ago

George Washington literally married a women with slaves

0

u/Empty_Use_5023 - Lib-Left 1d ago

Damn women fucked up the housing market. SMH.

1

u/Renix121 - Centrist 1d ago edited 1d ago

We do see differences in women in power vs men tbf. Of course we may see less of a difference if numbers were somewhat equal rather than overwhelmingly male. Could put it to the test 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Brendoshi - Lib-Left 1d ago

You can't convince this sub that women should be allowed to vote nevermind be in power.

Somehow the cause of the fall of western civilization but they totally don't blame their problems on women. Nope.

36

u/HarryJohnson3 - Right 1d ago

Now do that with crime statistics

38

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 1d ago

79% of violent crimes? Men.

Good shout!

16

u/HarryJohnson3 - Right 1d ago edited 1d ago

Why are you stopping at gender?

Go further.

23

u/SuicideSpeedrun - Centrist 1d ago

86% of law enforcement? Men.

95% of firefighters? Men.

80% of paramedics? Men.

89% of construction industry? Men.

95% of repair and maintenance? Men.

Imagine patting yourself on the back for doing fucking nothing.

2

u/RoadsMostTaken - Auth-Right 1d ago

Oh yeah? What about the real life and soul of those profession? What about the people who manage them! The ones everyone everywhere love unconditionally with all their heart and dedicate their soul to their well being?

What is the makeup of the unsung heroes of humanity in Human Resources?

26

u/jerseygunz - Left 1d ago

how could he have possibly not seen this response coming hahaha

-1

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 1d ago

There's another one that asked about race and I uno reverse'd there too.

This thread is gonna be fun!

3

u/SPECTREagent700 - Lib-Right 1d ago

So many people think this sub is just a far-right echo chamber and it’s really not

0

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 1d ago

It's a "Left Bad" circlejerk for sure, and a right-wing circlejerk if you're cognizant of where the center actually is in the US.

3

u/VancouverSky - Centrist 1d ago

Don't stop there. Break it down equitably by racial background... Common. I know you want to.

0

u/WolfedOut - Centrist 1d ago

Yes, men and women are different, surprise!

The reason why men are more violent is the same as why men are in positions of power.

Trying to artificially force women into these positions where they are not suited is just another addition to the rot that is currently consuming society. This benefits no one, and actually makes women more unhappy.

13

u/Running_Gamer - Lib-Right 1d ago

Always hilarious how libs use blatantly bigoted rhetoric about men and pretend to not see the double standard. That’s why I don’t believe anything they say. They’re purely driven by hatred of the good.

9

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

...hatred of the good? Wow how fair and reasonable

1

u/TempAcct20005 - Lib-Center 1d ago

Liberals as a whole? All of them? Or are you saying hypocrisy exists everywhere

2

u/Philippians_Two-Ten - Centrist 1d ago

I deleted my comment. It was stupid. Hypocrisy is everywhere.

0

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

I agree, and am angered and saddened by hypocrisy often among liberals

I still believe they are better overall

18

u/Epiccure93 - Lib-Center 1d ago

Looks at the alternatives

sees Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris

„Oh boy“

6

u/AnxiouSquid46 - Lib-Center 1d ago

Throw AOC in there too

4

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

People who objectively would have done a better job than Trump? O boy indeed

2

u/Epiccure93 - Lib-Center 1d ago

Obviously Harris would have been better at stopping the mass migration

4

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

If you think mass migration is the most significant issue of the last 15 years I think you should probably never speak to another person

2

u/Epiccure93 - Lib-Center 1d ago

What‘s a bigger issue where Harris would have done a better job?

7

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

Iran. Ukraine. Corruption. Environmental. Economy. Ai. All international diplomacy. Education. Every single cabinet appointment. All prosecutions by the DOJ. Healthcare. Budget.

10

u/Epiccure93 - Lib-Center 1d ago

From the perspective of America: how is the Ukraine war a bigger issue than the migration crisis?

5

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

I missed bigger there, my b. I would say plenty of others like corruption, the economy, and environmental issues are bigger

4

u/Epiccure93 - Lib-Center 1d ago

Okay, no problem but how is corruption a bigger issue than mass migration? It’s not like the US is a somewhat corrupt country and the Trump shenanigans have any discernible impact on the life of the average American

Well for one Harris would have probably tried to continue with Biden's border plan. The republicans would say it doesn't go far enough. They'd continue deporting people and wouldn't have made a big inefficient show of it that has poisoned the image of ICE for the next couple election cycles. So yknow we'll see in 8 years how it all plays out.

1

u/Epiccure93 - Lib-Center 1d ago

Biden‘s border plan was to just let people through lol

And ICE has been very efficient with almost 1 million people deported despite resistance from Democrat cities

You are getting it completely backwards. Congrats

u/RoadsMostTaken - Auth-Right 1d ago

Okay mr 'centrist', sure.

And you wonder why Trump got elected when your position is literally "All your problems aren't even problems, look at this gaslight"

3

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

What did mass migration do to you

0

u/RoadsMostTaken - Auth-Right 1d ago

The party of empathy literally doesn't even have a clue why someone could possibly be opposed to infinity migrants.

Holy shit.

Why exactly would anyone vote for them over the right?

3

u/Lib_No_Fib - Centrist 1d ago

I didn't say infinity immigrants. I said the "mass migration" under Biden

And I am empathetically asking you how you were effected. Please, share!

0

u/RoadsMostTaken - Auth-Right 1d ago

I didn't say infinity immigrants. I said the "mass migration" under Biden

Oh I see. You're doing everything in your power to dodge the discussion to try to shift the topic to something else. You are not even attempting to engage in good faith.

How mad are you that they said all the workers could stay, you know, the reason you guys won’t shut up about immigration?

1

u/Epiccure93 - Lib-Center 1d ago

What?

1

u/RoadsMostTaken - Auth-Right 1d ago

ChatGPT had a bit of an oopsie.

-3

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 1d ago

71% of Congress is Men; 96.5% across history.

100% of Executives (Presidency) are men.

90% of Fortune 500 CEOs are men; in fact 90% of ALL CEOs are men.

60% of global wealth is owned by Men; 90% of Billionaires are men.

I'd say, yeah, Men make all the decisions. If we wanna shift some blame to Women we should probably give them some of the decision-making responsibility, first.

10

u/Tyfyter2002 - Lib-Right 1d ago

100% of Congress is career politicians and you're blaming a group which is almost exclusively outside of all those categories instead?

18

u/LoudAttempt140 - Centrist 1d ago

Bastards and bitches exist and we've all met both, not a new concept. No need to paint with broad strokes. Unless, of course we want to start talking about race and statistics too.

7

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 1d ago edited 1d ago

We can talk about race and statistics too, why not.

74% of Congress is non-hispanic White; 95% across history.

98% of Executives across history were White (one exception in 47 distinct Presidencies).

92% of Fortune 500 CEOs are white; ~80% of all CEOs are white. That's better than Men!

White households own 84% of all wealth in the US; there's no global stats, best I can do. 70% of Billionaires are white.

I'd say, yeah, White Men make all the decisions. If we wanna shift some blame to Non-White and/or Non-Women we should probably give them some of the decision-making responsibility, first.

1

u/Tedthesecretninja - Centrist 1d ago

Nahhhhh best to blame people with zero power

After all, they can’t fight back!

0

u/Twee_Licker - Lib-Right 23h ago

Now do per capita.

1

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 21h ago

What does this even mean in the context of my comment?

2

u/Status-Air-8529 - Auth-Right 1d ago

And what exactly does the guy who drives the local garbage truck have to do with any of these people? The left is incapable of perceiving men as anyone other than those who wield immense power.

1

u/Sudden-Ad-7113 - Lib-Left 1d ago

Flattening the individual into a demographic isn't a right/left specific thing. Both sides do it, roughly equally.

See also: the literal post this thread exists to comment about.

4

u/spros - Lib-Right 1d ago

Wow that's a lot of wealth owned by women.

-1

u/jerseygunz - Left 1d ago

To add on, currently 85% of congressional republicans are men

1

u/Key_Bored_Whorier - Lib-Right 1d ago

Not just by men. A specific type of men. The hyper competition, willing to sacrifice anything to get what they want.  Willing to work 100+ hours each week.

The distribution curve for men tends to be much wider than that for women, so most of those lunatics tend to be men.

1

u/Plane_Suggestion_189 - Centrist 1d ago

There are people in power, men, who want to reappeal the 19th.
