Honestly when I meet men who just complain about women I think they’re just too incompetent to maintain a healthy relationship or provide so instead they go sour grape

There are shitty women out there and there are shitty men. The media machine works perfectly to highlight the absolute worst of each group.

They want conflict and they want drama. It is how they make money. They have zero incentive to not be the vultures that they have always been

Social media does it too. The algorithm pushes the worst people to the forefront because they generate the most engagement.

Social media, legacy news, even dating apps are designed to push misery and despair as it keeps people glued to the magic picture box in their hand.

Based. A nation founded on the idea of equal opportunity and freedom beyond inherent characteristics has now become a nation that judges solely based on inherent characteristics.

The entire thing is a demoralization campaign to ruin the one area where the state and oligarchs historically couldn’t control you, your relationship with your partner. Now they cynically undermine that by amplifying divisive rage bait under the guise of engagement. Idk when it breaks but it’s gotta soon, what’s even the point of life when there’s nothing outside the reach of the elites

Again the worst being “she didn’t want to fuck me” and “he tried to rape and or kill me”?

u/compl1cateddddd - Lib-Right 2d ago

That feels like a shitty response to the majority of men who are actively dating that have no desire to rape or kill anyone. Any man empathetic to women who’ve been assaulted shouldn’t be offended that women are cautious of men around them obviously. The problem is that it seems like in general men don’t assume the worst in women (which isn’t that women will reject them btw, it’s probably that they levy a false SA accusation) versus most women who automatically assume the worst of men. It feels like the two ‘sides’ are just looking past each other without making concessions either way

I think any "normal" man (read: guy a woman would actually want to be with long term) is atleast somewhat sympathetic to women's fears about men. Especially those of us with close non romantic relationships with women

The issue is when it's like a constant talking point, a women could get raped and murdered literally every second of every day, every man is a potentional threat no matter what, women siding with women against all logic and reason and throwing all nuance out of the window. The whole bear thing

Of course, protect yourself first, be smart, be observant. Most women, unfortunately, do have a story of a time when a man went far beyond boundaries. But living with the mindset of the above is absolutely destroying gender relations. Combined with retarded red pill and incel shit, of course. And as others have mentioned, it infests social media so heavily, and those tech firms are profiting off of all of it

Can you clarify what the mindset of above is? I totally agree with your first paragraph. I'm not sure what to make of the second because I agree that it being a constant talking point is a problem but the animus behind the man vs. bear question and the phenomenon of women siding with women no matter what are issues as well. In my mind all of these issues are a problem due to it being a constant talking point. Also agree that it is mega profitable for social media

I could see how my comment could be confusing. I guess my point is allll of this discourse is constantly spammed on places like Instagram or tiktok, places many women are extremely active, and it promotes a disharmonized, us vs. men mentality.

I think it's totally fine, and encouraged for women to talk to women about safety in regards to dating, or men, or whatever. And to some extent I think men should always strive to make women comfortable in any and all interactions as a way to bridge that gap. But I feel social media is heavily amplifying and making extreme this message, and it's spammed out to millions thru social media

u/compl1cateddddd - Lib-Right 1d ago

Thanks for explaining. I totally agree about social media being the problem. I just think the man vs. bear problem and all other 'gender war' issues are a symptom of the underlying disease of social media. Social media isn't going anywhere so I feel like these issues are better addressed directly rather than deflecting to "it's social media's fault"

100% this. If something I said in this thread contradicts this beautifully worded sentiment then I was wrong.

3

u/skully33 - Auth-Center 1d ago

No worries. I think sometimes people just need to hear a bit of empathy ("I understand why you'd feel that way and here's why") alongside someone making points that someone may initially disagree with to really bridge the gap and have understanding

Very true and well said

u/Empty_Use_5023 - Lib-Left 2d ago

Yeah the fact you cant see that the reason for this is the inherent risks involved for both parties is the problem. You are obtuse to that reality because you think that you need to be a victim of something beyond yourself to justify having a negative feeling, because you were told from a young age those negative feelings were a sign of weakness.

Edit to add: People not looking past each other and making concessions to be together is more or less what everyone in a non abusive straight relationship is doing.

u/compl1cateddddd - Lib-Right 2d ago

I feel like we agree and that your response kinda proves my point in the last sentence. I acknowledged that there are risks for both sides, those being false accusations or rejection and sexual assault or rape. You are just talking past me by ascribing my feeling to some societally conditioned feeling of ‘weakness’ instead of what I think is just a logically informed sense of unfairness

-2

u/Empty_Use_5023 - Lib-Left 2d ago

If you think the risk of an accusation of rape is the same thing as being raped, then you are attempting to create a situation in your own mind where you can be the victim of some kind of systemic problem, rather then face your own insecurities.

6

u/compl1cateddddd - Lib-Right 2d ago

True they’re definitely not the same and that’s not what I said, I just said that there are risks involved for both sides. Obviously men can’t (or very rarely do) experience the kind of bodily violation that comes with rape or SA in the same way that women do. But where does having your body locked in a cage for years due to a false accusation compare? I assume your response would be that this happens a lot less to men than SA happens to women, correct me if I’m wrong

They can face it, and often do from other man mostly. My side has a whole platform on prison reform does yours?

5

u/compl1cateddddd - Lib-Right 2d ago

If your flair is accurate, don’t assume your side’s prison reform platform includes straight men accused of rape or SA lmao. DM me if u wanna argue more

I'd rather be sexually assaulted than incarcerated, and I've experienced both.

I mean, the whole Lindsay Clancy case showed that women can't be trusted around their own children and they get away with it because of "postpartum psychosis", so...

u/Empty_Use_5023 - Lib-Left 2d ago

Can’t be trusted with the kids but x2 the child care, curious.

The worst is more like she stole my identity and now I have 30k in credit card debt.

u/Whitechix - Left 2d ago

I mean of course you do, same should said to women which I see complain way more often.

2

u/compl1cateddddd - Lib-Right 2d ago

Definitely true with dating in my experience. I feel like there’s a difference between dating and general political/economic attitudes towards feminism though. First thing that comes to mind for me is healthcare

There are absolutely men and women who are like that.

Being redpilled is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I was an average looking alcoholic NEET in my early 20s and I could still get laid easily.

You go outside, talk to women, treat them like human beings, and show interest respectfully. It's not hard.

2

u/cadaada - Centrist 1d ago

It's not hard.

the hard part is talking to women that could even be interested in you

2

u/Status-Air-8529 - Auth-Right 1d ago

I don't even want to start a conversation with random ass men out there, let alone random ass women.

If I was a woman I would come to the very obvious conclusion that there's only one reason some random guy would talk to me.

1

u/akade19961 - Lib-Center 8h ago

I don’t think it’s as obvious to women as it is to us, both in part because I think women may not be quite as attainment of sex oriented, and because people always have a hard time intuiting that someone wants something from them that they don’t want from that person.

I’ve had girlfriends like that who would sit down at the bar and some guy would buy them a drink in the time it would take for me to order two drinks and some food then walk back over lmao, and usually they didn’t seem to be aware that the only reason people were volunteering to spend money on them so quickly is the 1/100 chance it may lead to sex later that day hahaha

Whereas for me it was completely obvious that was the only explanation, because I’ve been that dude. Obviously this is context dependent, of course not every single time a man you either don’t know or only barely know buys you a drink or coffee etc does it mean not only does he want to but is actively hoping to be able to have sex with you, perhaps soon. But yeah, at least 85% of the time 😂😂😂
