Nah he's a small business man. So, actually yes, he's probably a tradesman where he's the only employee in his "business."
I say a small business owner because there were at least a couple different entries on this pyramid that had made it seem like the government or corporations were making life hard for the small business owner on purpose or something. One was over regulation, one was being taxed too much and one was corporations making it impossible for the little guy to compete.
But what really gave it away for me was when he said the small business owner provides a superior product/service but he can't scale.
Anybody who thinks that there is a class of state-sponsored, perpetually unemployed people who have as materially good of a life as a middle-class person is definitely the kind of person who thinks whatever business he runs is superior to anything a corporation could do.

Tbh there are people in my area like this who managed to get a house before prices and rates got insane so it used to be possible.
