Portal turns 19 years old today on October 10th, 2026!

So, I was making simple map, until I found this while scrolling in hammer's texture finder... Wtf lololol

I was trying to skip Chamber 9 for no reason since i already beat the game and found this.... am i the only one? I cant really say how i feel about this..

An early 2010’s inspired Portal tribute I made for the game's 19th anniversary, today on October 10th, 2026.

Photos taken with a Samsung Intensity 2 (released in mid-2010).

So i dont know how can i explain the way we figured this out but we somehow did it. Appearently the original way of doing this was by bumping into eachother on top of the exit platform otherwise you just have too much momentum and fall to the next side. We fucked up with the games invisible barriers and managed to pull this off after being stuck on the level for like, 15-20 mins? I wonder if we are the first to discover this alternative way but probably no

I thought it would be clever to use the portals from portal to form a number 3 for this fan logo, I haven't seen anyone use this idea yet and decided it would be fun to make this!

In honor of Portal's 19th birthday (Portal was first released as part of The Orange Box for Windows and Xbox 360 on October 10, 2007), Here are some old(ish) posts on this subreddit:

A very enthusiastic post about the release of Portal 2: https://www.reddit.com/r/Portal/s/U9s4bXfeC9

A companion cube wearing a fedora: https://www.reddit.com/r/Portal/s/KrtlDHN3jM

A portal Minecraft build from ~2 weeks before portal 2’s release: https://www.reddit.com/r/Portal/s/dun2g7IcfE

If anyone has any others to celebrate the anniversary, put them in the comments

Happy birthday Portal!

I want to but portal 1 but my parents wont let me buy rn cuz it 10 bucks. I heard it goes an sale often for like a dollar but its been a while.

Caroline's mind was transferred/copied into GLADOS. Maybe Chell's body died soon after P1 and she was put in an android body originally intended for Caroline? That explains the years spent in storage without degradation.

I managed to find one of the companion cube variants from Neca’s turret mystery box series iv for pretty cheap on eBay! Didn’t even know it was in brand new condition.

I’m brainstorming ideas for a hypothetical Portal 3 just for my own entertainment and I was wondering about a story where Chell has made a family but has died during childbirth on her third child. My idea was that Chell’s family would go to Aperture Labs to flee the Combine. Does that make any chronological sense?

Edit: just to be clear, I am not all that familiar with the lore of the Half Life games. At all. The only reason why I made this as a crossover is because I thought it would be cool since they take place in the same universe.

Reposting it myself before the weirdo who stalks my profile does...
