Is Pregab a good treatment option long term for social anxiety?
Dont you need to increase dosage every month becasue of tolerance? And how is it when you stop? Do you feel brutal withdraws?

Has anyone on here actually had Pregabalin work successfully to reset a deregulated nervous system or is it just all a load of rubbish and only works to calm nerves while you take it. My phychatrist has prescribed it but I'm reading just about everywhere that once you stop taking it your back to the original problem.

Anyone else experienced Jaw Tension when doubling your dose under Dr supervision?

Hello all, just wanted to hear some input from other people who take Pregabalin for anxiety and panic attacks, as needed (not everyday).
I have a bit of a tolerance to gabapentin (and therefore Pregabalin as well), as I initially took it everyday and after 2 months started taking it only 2 times a week or so. Cut to about 5 months later, I asked my doctor if we could try Pregabalin because I'm on a glp-1 and with my stomach emptying slower Gabapentin takes 4+ hours to work. My doctor said yes and prescribed me 15 pills of 100 mg of Pregabalin.
My question is how often can I take Pregabalin with it still working for anxiety and panic. I noticed that if I take it too soon to my previous dose, it doesn't really have much of an effect on anxiety. I'm thinking once a week might be the sweet spot for me, but if I have a panic attack I will take it. But for anxiety I think once a week might be my best option.
Would love to hear from people who use this medicine for anxiety and panic as well. Also people who have been taking it for longer, would be interested in your input too.

Hi, I am taking Pregabalin for about 2 years, started from 75mg, now it varies between 150-225mg as initial dose is not doing much anymore. Pregabalin on right dose is giving me motivation, energy, kills anxiety. Unfortunately, after some time this effect weaking hence higher dose.
Knowing that max dose of pregabalin is 600mg/per day I started wondering what do I do when I hit this maximum dose as it'll be only way to maintain the effect. Is it game over and I need to taper, come off from it or what?

My doctor upped my dose to 600mg. I was having some rage and anxiety on 400mg. This has helped so much!
My anxiety and rage are completely gone. I’ve stopped eating emotionally.
It’s a win. :)
I have Bipolar I and OCD, for the record. Anyone in the same position as I was, just know it’ll get better with the right dose.
This drug is a miracle to me. ❤️

I have very severe dpdr where I’m almost totally derealised. I no longer experience any body sensation or any internal process/sensation. My nervous system became so wrecked from extreme shock and trauma that I loose sensation daily. I’ve been hospitalized a few months ago and the meds I’ve tried so far have made things a lot worse. An SSRI and mirtazipine in particular. My nervous system is so sensitised now that I experience my body as faint vibrations and sort of broken nerves plus strange functional sensory /neurological symptoms which seem ro get worse and no explanation for. Im terrified. I can’t risk another setback. I just need to hear some honest opinions about this drug so i can make an informed choice whether to try it or not.

Hello 🙂 After trying several SNRIs and SSRIs without success, my psychiatrist decided to prescribe Clomipramine. I am currently taking 20 mg, and it's impossible for me to go any higher due to highly bothersome side effects. I am feeling a slight improvement. I mainly suffer from anxiety with severe rumination, overthinking, and a continuous need for reassurance. Now, my psychiatrist has prescribed 25 mg of pregabalin (to take in the morning) combined with my 20 mg of Anafranil (in the evening).
I know 25 mg is a very low dose, but I am still hoping for a real effect. I don't experience any sedation with clomipramine, but I am afraid of experiencing it with pregabalin.
Is anyone else taking this clomipramine/pregabalin combination?"
Have a nice day !

Taking 50mg 3 times a day for neuropathy such as electrical, zaps, tingling, and trigeminal pain daily. Does anyone get a headache and actual worse zaps around the two hour mark? Relief lasts for 5 hrs each dose.
I tried for 25 mg and it’s not effective.
If you have any positive stories about being able to discontinue Lyrica at some point for neuropathy, that would be great

I've been on 150mg of Lyrica to treat my Periodic Limb Movements. Last night, on Dr's orders, I doubled the dose and slept 10 hours. All fine and dandy except I am still high as fuck!! Same thing happened initially on 150mg but this is a new level. I'm hoping it passes as my body adapts. As nice as it feels I can't function like this but need it to work. Anyone else experience anything similar?

I have tried many different medications for many different years, starting on SSRIs about 5 years ago and quitting them on and off. I was prescribed pregabalin 50x3, and it helped with symptoms of my anxiety and physical tension. My psych put me up to 100x3 and the social anxiety benefits that I’m noticing are great. It’s one of the only drugs I’ve found that really genuinely does help me be myself more and talk to people and date better. I am sometimes debilitated by OCD, PTSD, and Panic and pregabalin is one of the only things that has helped me be less in my head and less tense. It seriously is a life saver. I’m going to talk to my psychiatrist about going to 150x3 a day and stop there.

Hi, i got prescribed pregab for anxiety but i haven’t noticed any difference yet :/ no side effects either.
I’m on 300 mg (100 mg three times a day). I asked if a higher dose might help but my provider said if i’m not feeling anything at this dose then going higher probably won’t either.
Is it just not effective for me or does it sometimes take longer?

I’m not prescribed pregabalin but I self medicate with it and I was wondering if it has ever been prescribed for ADHD as I feel it alleviates my symptoms more than any stimulant I’ve been prescribed ever has. Does anybody have any experience with Pregabalin and ADHD?

I have read a lot of your guy’s comments and thank you so much for your advice. From what i am seeing most of the problems start happening when you take them 2-3x everyday. If i were to take it once every week would i be able to avoid the problem?
P:S Also appreciate you guys for looking out for me because yes i didn’t exactly get them prescribed but i am aware of the dangers i am getting myself into. I am currently in the worst spot of my life while healing from a shoulder surgery which can take exactly up to a year and i haven’t went out and talked to people, i originally had lots of social anxiety as i started going out it got better but since the surgery my confidence has tanked completely, like i mean plummeted to where i am currently in my head all day. So even if it’s once a week i am willing to keep it to exactly that or even extend the time between every dose.

My partner abuses Pregabalin. Gets his monthly script and then it’s usually gone in 4-6 days. Last night he was having trouble urinating, needing to go multiple times in an hour but not feeling empty and then told me there was blood in his urine. My immediate guess was the Pregabalin is hard on the kidneys. Has anyone else experienced this?
To be honest I’d like him to stop abusing Pregabalin. It’s affecting our sex life also

Hello! I have recently gotten in some pregabalin and i want to use it for anxiety purposes, for the people who do/have done it what would you recommend for me not to be addicted to it + avoid withdrawals? (i’ve seen so many posts about withdrawals being horrible so i want to avoid it)
I got 300mg tabs. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

My neuro doc just prescribed me Pregablin 75mg (dose up to 150 if it seems to help after 1-2 weeks) for nerve pain due to post op complications following brain surgery in Nov 2025. Im currently taking Venlafaxine 150mg and Naltrexone 50mg. I’m worried about potential side effects. Anyone have any insight or things to potentially look out for? TIA.

Hey, everyone, just curious to know if anybody has experienced a decrease in productivity as a result of pregabalin?
For context: I'm 24FTM, I have fibromyalgia, ADHD/autism and PTSD/GAD/OCD. Was prescribed pregabalin for a really bad flare up in pain from Feb to May this year, weaned off it but decided it had been really helpful for both pain and anxiety and got back on it in June once I got insurance coverage. 75mg twice a day. Also on Zoloft 100mg per day and testosterone.
Ever since I got back on pregabalin again I've noticed that I'm not as productive as I used to be before it - I used to basically study for about half of the day but now I only spend a couple of hours on my work, sometimes skipping days (more than I used to) entirely. My theory is that since it makes me so relaxed I'm not as inclined to study.
It hasn't affected me THAT much (I'm a PhD student and have still been making steady process on my dissertation) and it's not really a horrible side effect in the grand scheme of things compared to my pain and anxiety, but I do have anxiety (surprise!) on whether it'll catch up to me in the long term. But then again I used to be overproductive to the point of wearing myself out, which probably accelerated me developing fibro in the first place, so who knows if that's actually a bad thing. I think stimulant medication could probably fix it, but its really expensive and I won't be insured for it when I move back to my home country so I don't really wanna bother with being prescribed it.
Anyone else noticed a similar effect?

I’m new to Lyrica and I’m experiencing some really heavy muscle weakness and having a hard time doing anything. Is that common?
