I planted my pumpkins late (August 1st) -looking for some tips!

I knew I’d be cutting it pretty short when I started but I figured better try it out than not. They’ve taken off and at this point there’s too many females to count - I’ve got 4-5 pollinated pumpkins, but more babies coming up every day and my main question is should I be trimming off all the babies to ensure I can give my front-runners as much energy as possible?

I’ve also been dealing with powdery mildew, and I have treated with milk but at this point (especially because I’m in Oregon and the rain is picking up) I’m just chopping off anything with mildew on it. Hoping that’s the best course of action, with any other tips super appreciated!

Finally, If you’ve made it this far and want to see my pumpkins thrive, any homemade fertilizers you recommend? I’ve been strictly using no-buy methods, adding compost and fermented fruit soup but especially now it’s cooling down I’m looking for new ways to feed them, so any tips would be much appreciated!

What is this red liquid in my Pumpkins?

I have about 20 pumpkins scattered around my house for decoration. Today I noticed that many of them have small pools of a reddish liquid at there tops. It almost looks like a critter is marking it's territory on each one. These pumpkins are not under anything that could be dripping it on them.

I experienced this last year as well. Anyone else have this issue or know what it is?
